So there is more than one Melty Blood game? What kinda fighting game is Melty blood?

Many more. The first game was Melty Blood. Then came an expansion, called ReAct. Then there was the arcade version Act Cadenza, that was then ported to the PC as Act Cadenza ver B. Currently there's a new arcade version in Japan, called Actress Again.

Melty Blood is really a hybrid Visual Novel / Fighting game, relying on established characters from the Tsukihime universe to drive the plot. I'm not a fighting game specialist so if you're looking for technical terms, or comparisons to others in the genre, I have nothing to offer you there. The Wikipedia article may cover some of that in more detail for you.

I actually have this game, I think I'll get the patch now. I was curious to see some storyline.

I heard that the only story in Act Cadenza is in limited chunks in the Arcade mode, whereas ReAct and the original had a full-fledged Story mode, that in my opinion (using ReAct to compare the two) was far better. As far as I'm concerned Act Cadenza is for people wanting to play a fighter, while the original (or ReAct) are for those who want the story.

Then again, AC is probably easier to [legitimately] acquire than RA.

At any rate, the English patches can be found at mirror moon, who advocate a strong anti-piracy stance.

Yeah. If you want story then you want Re-ACT. I had re-ACT a long time ago but you need THE ORIGINAL (its just called Melty Blood) in order to run the english patch for re-ACT to see the full story (and arcade mode stories). I just got the original melty blood a few mins ago finally so imma patch that, then react and play that for hours to come

The game is already in english for the most part other than the voiceovers, story mode, and team mode names... Don't need to download it. That and I can read the story mode as it is.
