I just made the discovery of the century by finding out that FE6's In the Name of Bern is a rip-off of this (5:54 onward). I'm sure it's significant somehow. :(

I personally think the old Rescue system worked very well in conjunction with Canto. And the stat reductions should indicate that it was ultimately intended to be a means to get a squishier unit out of enemy range or transport a unit with lackluster move from point A to point B, not an effect to be facing hordes of enemies under. That's not to say the current system won't work sufficiently in a world of Pair Up, of course, but I don't really see it as that much of an evolution rather than just a completely different take on the concept.

But the fact that it's no longer stat penalties for carrying another unit makes it a fundamentally different system altogether.

Most of the people I know usually do, since student budgets and all. Alcohol taxes are really high, so if you drink somewhat often, you're way better off just buying an 18 or a 24 pack rather than burning 2-4 times the money at a bar. You have to drink relatively fast and it starts to taste like cardboard after a while, but unless you're over 20, it's legitimately the cheapest way to go about it.

Nah, just really sudden temperature drops, and it's really surreal after one of the most warm Christmases in a long while. Only -30C here thankfully but it's dropped up to -46C elsewhere.

Frankly, turning 18 made drinking much less 'exciting' (for lack of a better word) and caused me at least to tone it down significantly. Germany's alcohol legislation seems sensible, where you can drink beer or such with a custodian as early as 14, without a custodian after 16, and distilled beverages after 18. Here beverages up to 22% alcohol (though you can buy anything from a bar from the get-go, screw you absinthe) are legal at 18 and beverages above that become such at 20, which I don't think is all that bad of a system apart from the limit of 18 being somewhat overly high for beer and such. A uniform limit of 21 makes no reasonable sense.

Funnily enough, the weather forecasts here have predicted possible temperatures of -40C for Wednesday and Thursday in some parts of Northern Ostrobothnia (where I live) and Lapland. Not too enthusiastic about it, tbh.

If my income for the next month happens to go up and it causes me to buy two packs of macaroni instead of the one I did last month, have I defiled the deities of microeconomics by reversing the income effects to the demand of inferior goods?

Tbh, it'd probably be easier to count the names that I do pronounce correctly. It's not like I talk with native English speakers irl often (and even less so about FE), so I can't really be assed to. Cherche is the worst, in whose case I usually just give up and go with "Kerkke".

I love how over the top the naming scheme is. Though I guess it'd feel out of place to be subtle with the final boss theme after you've named the regular one Almighty Boss Devil is Challenged.

It's a great game, no doubt, but DeSu2 does kind of attempt to blend the narrative style of the first game with a more Persona 3/4-esque one, so make of that what you will. And I wish the character designer knew how to draw with something other than his dick (that's not how breasts work). His DeSu1 work certainly had some oddities, but nothing that egregious.

Shiida's death has always affected the ending scene, so it's been a thing, if a very minor one, since the very beginning. I agree that the series hasn't really explored the potential story dimensions of permadeath enough.

Whilst this is quite a bit warmer than usually, it's not exactly unheard of. I know at some area in the north the Christmas Eve temperature record highs and lows are more than 40 degrees apart.
