I think Three Houses had a lot of stuff done right: like character customization, 4 paths with different story (that you don't have to pay for), a lot of support conversations, etc. But I agree the monastery part gets tiring after you play half of the game or when you replay the game, it was something so cool at the beginning and after 15 chapters I found myself exhausted of having to go there again to get my students to max motivation for the classes. But what bothered me the most is that I missed the typical aspect of FE games where you get characters from chapter to chapter: like you start battling with 3 characters then you get 2 more, then 1, etc. And it feels like you can really choose who you want to use and who not from a huge poll of chracters you end uo having. In Three Houses you get all students at once, you can recruit other students but it can be quite tiring and also it feels not canonical, and yes, you can recruit the professors/knights, but to me they are not really interesting. I feel like every route has such few character cast to choose from (if you don't recruit other students) so probably you end up just using the students of the house you're playing. Also all of the students are like pretty teenagers and the art style makes them (mostly the girls) look quite identical. I would've liked more variety of ages, bodies and styles of characters. Also I lowkey hated the maps, but because of the textures and colors they used.

That's really sad to hear, like... after you clear a path out it basically disappears 😥

As far as I know: when choosing Church you just lose Edelgard and Hubert. When choosing Edelgard you lose all the Church/Knights of Serios characters, I think. You keep the teachers and students recruited in both paths, but you cannot recruit Dimitri and Claude in any of them.

Okay, so juding on your opinions, I think I'll go Church first, it makes me sad because I bonded with all my students and to lose 2 now... also Rhea makes me so uncomfortable. But well, I'll play Edelgard's route after it (I'll make a different save file rn) And yes I was going to leave GD for my last playthrough anyway, after both BE routes I'm planning on playing BL. So I am not sure at all what should I choose. I've heard that if you side with the Church you lose Edelgard and Hubert but also that Edelgard's route is quite short... I supose I will play both routes, but which one should I play first? Someone who has played both have any recommendations? I'm really confused (Btw it's my first playthrough, so I have not played any other house route yet)

I would have to say Edelgard, since she deals a lot of damage and takes so few, and also Byleth of course. Apart from that: Hubert is super great, he learns such interesting spells that have different range, and he has a great Mag stat to complement. I can rely on him any time. I'm surprised a lot of people are saying Petra. I love her but to me she is not my greatest unit, she is fast but her Str is not amazing so she cannot kill much enemies even if attacking twice 😢

I lost it with Annette appearing in the background 😂 Accurate (and sad) representation, yeah.

Damn gay options are soooo underwhelming. I like Linhardt but just one student and the rest 2 old dudes with sons/daughters... Meanwhile lesbian options are better and also more abundant... Wtf were they thinking 🙄 I'm seriously pissed off.

So I was pretty bored today and decided to play a bit with some characters appearances using my graphic tablet. I started with Petra and I'm quite into the result so I decided to share it with you guys. I cut her hair into this style that I think suits her, and her myrmidon/assassin canon role, pretty well (I know, I changed her iconic braid, I'm sorry, but I added a darker lock of hair to give her some uniqueness). Also changed a bit her features so she seems older. As she is one of the few characters who wears makeup I decided to play a bit with it too. I gave her red clothes because I liked the color combination. And that's it, I hope you like it. Feel free to voice your opinions!!

I'll play the 3 paths in Hard/Classic so the game lasts longer for me. Then maybe I'll try Lunatic.

I'll start with the Black Eagles, because it's the house that appeals me the most. Then I'll play the Blue Lions, because they have the best characters, for me (I would start with them but I feel like starting with Edelgard makes more sense idk). Finally Golden Deers, I'm not quite into them tho.

I thought it all had to do with weapons and then riding/flying/armor. How do you train for the stats? Byleth needs to have a certain number in the stat to recruit the character?

Done! My favorite ones are Petra and then Felix, mainly because of their design cause we don't know much of their personalities yet (but I like the little we know about them). I also voted quite up: Ferdinand, Dimitri, Mercedes, Marianne, Claude, and Linhardt. I've put at the end of the list: Lorenz, Raphael, Caspar, Ashe and Leonie because I'm not at all into their designs.

And what about her father, Subaki, as a Weapon Master? Would it work too? I think Weapon Master is one of the "bulkiest" classes that Subaki has access naturally and giving him access to all 3 weapon triangle parts would beneffit his poor STR? The problem maybe would be SPD then, as he has low SPD and the class is not brilliant in this stat tbh, I was thinking maybe in this build: -Astra -Swallow Strike (to fix the SPD issue) -Speed Seal (not sure about this one, but also to fix his SPD) [s-rank Hinoka/Oboro] -Renewal (to help his Personal Skill) [A+ Asama] -Breaking Sky [s-rank Hinoka/Oboro] Other interesting skills he can get are (considering I want him to marry Hinoka or Oboro): Vantage (but I don't see it like fitting in this set), Defence Seal, Strenght Seal (but he is suposed to be bulky...), Flamboyant (idk how to feel about this one xD), LoD. I suspect that making him a Holy Lancer sound better in this case, but I like the Weapon Master class and its weapon triangle obvious advantages. I really like Subaki so I really want to optimize him and use him as much as I can. It's the first time I think about an "optimal set" for a character so I'm not a pro here, you can all say what you think xD

Wow that looks really good, it makes me like Oboro even more. Kozaki is so talented, I'm extremly in love with his drawing style *^* I hope he would give us some official character artwork soon, I can't wait to see every character in their artwork. By the time I accept some drawings like this one haha

So have we confirmed rn that growths work just with Mother and Child? Or there's still a chance that it works like Awakening? It's kind of odd that your asset/flaw won't affect Kanna in terms of growths :/ But I guess this formula goes well with other pairings though.
