Considering Witches are DLC and they get shadowgift I'm going to go out on a limb here and say maybe the dlc they come with might come with mire or maybe some other dark tomes. I mean it seems like they aren't hesitant at all about throwing new items and stuff in through the dlc this time around. I feel like I read somewhere that you need to meet the amiibo character's 3 times before they will challenge you. I also feel like I read you can scan amiibos again after you complete a battle. So try that maybe?

So I've been trying to wait until the tome info was dumped to ask this, but what exactly does shadowgift do in this game? Are their still dark tomes? Are they unusable by the hosidian side normally because they are not dark mages? I've been wondering about this for quite a while.

So I'm assuming this means that the puppet can earn experience for the puppeteer then? That's good.

So does Kinu's skill Play-Time Just affect all enemies map wide then?
