I wouldn't call myself particularly active on here, but I figured that I would share my Marisa despite that. Sixth +10 so far. No summoner support because Sheema utilises the extra stats better.

I've done my best not to, but progressing is already such a grind on Hard and it's clearly not properly balanced around not grinding. It kinda broke the remaining strategic value I could see remaining in the game, and after hearing about the bonus dungeon, I guess I'll just have to suck it up and begin treating this game like FE13.

Coming straight from FE2, I'm a bit disappointed in quite a few things. In particular the nerfs to stuff, but also that Hard seems to assume you're grinding, which I'm trying not to. It's next to impossible to ORKO without crits, enemies are far too bulky, and the hitrates are as shite as they were in FE2. And enemies that are supposed to be fast, are very fast. Currently in act 4, and most of the time it feels like the RNG has more influence than proper strategies, in particular when effectively all units get doubled by everything. Hell, even the knights in Berkut's second chapter could double everything not named Alm or Clair, which is likely the game telling me I should grind, but I refuse to. Grinding breaks all FE games that have it, and this is no exception. And no, arenas don't count. I'll give credit to where it's due though. BGM, UI, and the story is very good, I like the GBA-style support system, voice acting is good for those that like that, and the overall feel of the game is nice. I enjoyed Gaiden's gameplay as a whole, but I'm not very pleased with Hard mode in this game.

Yeah, the VA is pretty well done indeed. However, I still would've preferred the original voices as I'm trying to learn the language, so I'll be looking to mod that in at some point.

Yeah, got it on wednesday, a lucky break for once. Problem was I expected it to arrive today and I had yet to finish FE2 by the time it arrived, so I put off playing it until yesterday.

Tell me, is it possible to avoid fighting mobs in dungeons? I'm attempting to avoid as much grinding as I can, but I also want to explore the dungeons and collect stuff from them. However, since enemies notice you dashing/slashing, it seems impossible to do other than evacuating the dungeon when they draw near, but it's a pain to do so each time.

I likely formulated myself unfairly. I was referring to the fact that a lot of new Fire Emblem fans I've met seem to flare up the moment I say that marriage as it is now shouldn't be in the game. That doesn't take away from the fact that there are distinguished new fans such as yourself.

Cool, thanks guys! I expected to be shot down the moment I called Awakening shite in the strategy department, so I was pleased to see that was not the case lol. Seems like the Nohr route is more in my taste then, reminds me more of the older FE's based on the descriptions you gave. I like the fact that Pair Up is more balanced now too. My faith in the series is somewhat restored if you can ignore all the waifu pandering, haha. But eh, gotta keep those new fans in some way I suppose.

Not really. Everything that happened has a logical explanation, granted PoR is much better in that aspect but RD is better than Awakening could've ever hoped to be. This is about Fates though and I'm here for the gameplay, not the story. Anyone know how easily a long time fan would be assimilated into the game's system? Is the strategy just as shite as Awakening? If it is then I would have no issues with skipping this, but it looks well done for the most part has gotten great reviews. Also the children, is it still integral to ship your characters to enjoy everything in the game? That was a big gripe I had with Awakening too.

I'm somewhat confused, are you saying that every card that has the potential to be a + card has two different varieties of it? For example, your Robin that has both the gold font and is signed, would've it been possible for you to get a version of it that only has the gold font without the signature? In that case you would have to collect 3 versions of the same card which I don't really feel like doing. In a couple of weeks I'll be getting my boxes which equal nearly 600 cards, so I'll more than likely get quite a few dupes. I'll definitely be coming back to this thread to look for trading! EDIT: My bad, I'll be getting 740 cards.
