  1. They need some sort of help. You cant solo the entire game with just Franz or Vanessa and expect to win. I know they dont NEED good supporting casts but as it stands, they DO have good supporting casts, thats why i think they should have their supporting casts weaken.
  2. I do think that if all drafters perform evenly, the teams with Vanessa and Franz will be the top 2 teams. Thats why i proposed the idea of adjusting the draft order to give them a weaker supporting cast.
  3. Click on your diplay name to view your profile. it should say "edit my profile" near the top. click that and it should be on the page. under "profile information".
  4. Obviously Seth is an exception. My point was that Vanessa is more valuable than Franz. And even though they are much better than everyone else, there is no reason to ban them, especially not the inferior Franz. The reason they arent "auto-win" is because there is alot of depth among the rest of the characters and as long as the other drafters make smart picks they can still have a chance to win. Although, they can be "auto-win" because the skill level of the player is a factor in this. In the hands of a competent drafter and skilled player, the teams with Franz and Vanessa should be the 2 best teams. There are too many factors and not enough data, and "ban Franz/Vanessa" should not be the answer.
  5. Horace, I could have done several chapter a turn or two faster but i didnt try to because i knew how many turns i was already ahead by. And i wasted alot of turns early on to train my other units which caused me to neglect training Vanessa. Also, 9 turns is alot to make up for. As far as being blessed, my Vanessa ended up being below average for most of her stats. The gap between Franz and the other cavs is much less than the gap between Vanessa and the other fliers. I dont see why everyone thinks Franz is so amazing. No one in this game is so good that they need to be banned. Yeah, sorry i meant 7 rounds, but you got my point anyway... Integrity, did you put the Eirika route draft in your draft thread?
  6. I recently did my first draft ever. It was an Eirika route FE8 draft and i finished with 132 turns, and according to Integrity's draft thread, thats the lowest turn count ever for a FE8 draft. I am definitely interested in doing more with other good drafters to see if i am good or just lucky.
  7. by free turns im talking like 1 for Ephriam's route and 3 or 4 for Eirika's route. Im not sure exactly how many turns it takes to recruit her. Free levels are much more eww. I think the best thing to do though is just have 7 rounds. Or reverse the 8th round so the 1st drafter gets stuck with her...
  8. Yes, but as far as what Intelligent Systems was thinking for her, they included the tower so you could get units like her up to speed. And they included the Creature Campaign where she CAN be useful. Obviously, she is in no way, shape, or form "efficient". To get back on topic, maybe free turns could be given to make up for her recruitment? Or just stop after 7 rounds of drafting and have 4 undrafted units?

  10. Statistically Marisa isnt that bad. She is very close to Joshua. Same starting level, very close bases, very close growths, and she joins late enough to be a good candidate for Metis' tome. And she comes with a shamshir.
  11. IS wasnt thinking that players would become obsessed with low turn counts, and definitely werent thinking people would do draft tournaments...

"Guideline#6- I'm not really going to be aiming for low turn counts, just to have fun" If this is the case then GKs are probably worse then Generals, especially since you will probably level up to 20 before promotion. When not playing "efficiently" there really is no "worse" promotion path. Statistically speaking, the "worse" promotion path is usually superior to the more "efficient" one. Well thats my 2 cents on this subject...
  13. Its not that they are auto-win, its just that Vanessa and Franz are way above everyone else, Vanessa moreso than Franz. Honestly i think Franz is way over-hyped... Another thing is that there are 8 rounds to SS drafts and in the 8th round then draft order ends up being 1,2,3,4. This leaves the 3rd and 4th drafters with the worst possible units. Marrisa being the absolute worst since her recruitment is retarded, and thus whoever gets stuck with her basically gets only 7 draft picks. There are several things i can think of to help balance the draft order but as it stands now the 1st 2 picks are too valuable.
  14. Any time a character dies they get an "L". It keeps track of them even when you restart a chapter (Basically lets you know how many times a character forced you to reset) so apparently your Seth died twice?? How did you manage that if you werent using him at all?
  15. If your going to be reseting until you get good levels having blossom on Sothe is just going to waste BEXP. And his growths are crazy high even without blossom.
  16. Over in the Eirika route draft Jannisary took Franz 1st and i got Vanessa 2nd and i beat him by over 30 turns. Tethys was free and warp was allowed. Its pretty obvious that Vanessa>Franz, and based off this draft, Tethys is a close 3rd. Banning these characters doesnt make sense. Instead the draft order should be changed to 1,2,3,4 4,3,2,1 4,3,2,1 4,3,2,1 4,3,2,1.... That way, whoever gets the 1st 2 picks will get a weaker supporting cast. And Tethys should stay free for all. Well, thats my opinion on this subject.
  17. Saleh could use hammerene so any time my warp staff had just 1 use left i had him restore it to full uses. So, i used hammerenes on CHP17, CHP20, and then again on FINAL PART 1. That makes for 14 total warp uses, and 3 unused. 3 on CHP16 3 on CHP17 1 on CHP19 2 on CHP20 4 on FINAL PT1 1 on FINAL PT2 Having 2 staff users helped alot.
  18. CHAPTER 20: 2/129 Vanes dropped Ross in front of Morva on turn 1, and he killed him on EP. Eirika was rescued by Saleh and warped by L'arachel so she could seize on turn 2. FINAL PART 1: 2/131 4 warps used. Myrrh weakened Lyon and Ephriam finished him. FINAL PART 2: 1/132 L'arachel warped Ross, he hit for 29x2 damage. Ephriam hit for 30x2 damage and Eirika hit for 20 damage to finish the Demon King. TOTAL TURNS: 132 I will do a character analysis later. Ephriam killed his friend, Lyon. CHAPTER 18: 6/126 Promoted L'arachel. Not much to say here, just divided and conquered... CHAPTER 19: 1/127 1 warp use. Ephriam got the boss kill. Also got brave lance.   22. CHAPTER 14: 9/106 Ross killed yet another boss. Got all treasures except the guiding ring (stupid cavalier reinforcements) and visited the secret shop for barriers, physics and killing weapons. CHAPTER 15: 7/113 Kyle took out Caellach. Ross with the dragon axe killed Valter with one hit. Got swiftsoles, wyrmslayer, body ring, silence staff, and warp. Also, L'arachel hit A-staff!!   23. Yeah sure, Seth is a bad-ass, but how many turns does he actually save? In the 9 chapters up to the split, he only saves 7-9 turns as opposed to playing without using him. Franz can easily promote by chapter 8, if Seth is not used, and then from the split onwards your turn counts wouldnt be any different than if Seth were used. But yeah, he can be used from start to finish, and always be one of the top 3 units in every single chapter. Marcus however drops off after the other pallys catch up, and the other pre-promotes join.
  24. Colm should be a rogue. Assassins are garbage, they need to use expensive killing edges just to even have a respectable chance for assassinate to activate. each attack uses either 2, 3, or 4 RNs. 2 RNs are rolled to determine hit, if an attack hits THEN a 3rd RN is rolled for crit, if and ONLY IF the RN was low enough for a crit, THEN a 4th RN is rolled for the assassinate rate to determine assassination activation. so, with a max skill stat, S-rank swords, and a killing edge Colm would have a 50 critical (15+5+30) and a 25 assassinate rate. assuming he has a 100% hit rate, that would give him an actual assassination activation rate of 12.5% against an enemy with a 0 luck stat. (Hit rate x Crit rate x assassinate rate= assassination activation.) without the killing edge the actual assassinate rate would be 2%.... Clearly not worth it if you ask me. And if you plan to do the Creature Campaign, you should go with bishops for the slayer skill. Personally i go with bishop for them.
