  1. Making a tool and an engine would be fun thing to do, one time I actually tried that using some libraries. Now it'd take some consideration, should it create the game for pc platforms, web browsers, or mobiles? Also it requires some resources, like audio: music, sound effects, etc. or graphics like: tilesets for maps, portraits and chraracter sprites & animations. I'm not good in drawing or making audio, but programming can be fun. As you already guessed, I prefer 2D games over 3D. I'd imagine it somewhat like RPG Maker. It can have a database of heroes, classes, items and skills, while it also has it's internal map editor and some form of event editor.
  2. I didn't had to read it too long to come to the conclusion to not believe a thing from it. It sounds good, but honestly too good - I don't think they would throw a wrench like this into the game's balance.
  3. I was doing my Hard/Classic No Divine Pulse Ironman run. I reached Chapter 11, and decided to do the Hanneman/Manuela paralogue. Aaaand Manuela died and the game asked me to use the Divine Pulse to turn back time. Would you call this Game Over? I didn't noticed that she was in the range of 2 enemy units, including a Brawler. I only used pulse once in this run, not because of a death, but because of a misclick. Also Petra is not dead, but she won't join me because she was defeated in Chapter 5.
  4. He is probably the better cavalier from the Selphina squad. I didn't really use him much, I took the Elite Sword for Mareeta instead. But I think Finn is still better, thanks to his Brave Lance and that neat Leadership Star. True Callion has better growth rates in all areas compared to him, yet Finn has an easier start being Lv7 and having better availability. They are both supported by Leif, while Callion is also supported by Selphina, and Finn supported by Nanna - both good choices, while Nanna is slightly better thanks to Charisma. But then Carrion have better movement star and PCC. I guess it's worth using both of them, thank to posible fatigue.
  5. First run? Everyone survives (except from other houses) - praises to divine pulses, the most broken feature in Fire Emblem history. Anyway, I'm currently doing my Hard/Classic Ironman No Pulse run with Golden Deer, and I'm up to Kronya's chapter. So far I have 1 casualty: Petra, my mission assistance on Chapter 5 (Miklan chapter). She was in range of the archer and another melee guy. It was stupid from me, but I'll keep going. The rest of the run is very promising so far. Technically she's not dead, as she is in the monastery and I had to face her in the mock battle, but I cannot recruit her or ask her to assist on missions.
  6. You mean like how much Jeralt reminds us of Greil? You know, your father who's a leader of a mercenary gang kind of thing... There's also Kostas, who's clearly the earliest boss brigand unit, that existed in every Fire Emblem game I believe. Flayn is like one of those healers who also got kidnapped and had to be rescued - hmmm, where does it sound familiar? Raphael and Ignatz to me is like Draug and Gordin back in the days. Petra is the female myrmidon archetype, like Ayra/Mareeta/Fir/Lyn/Marisa/Mia/you name it! I think her personal skill also supports that. And of course we all thought Hilda is like Serra, although she wouldn't be a good mage unit.
  7. It's been a while since I played FE6, and I haven't tried drafts yet. But no warp sounds like my playing field. Count me in. Though questions: What difficulty mode we plan to play? "use your units, or pay 4 turns" could you explain this better?
  8. I guess that's true - the game makes it very easy for you with all the forging, classes, divine pulses, battalions, combat arts, the amount of money you are getting, the convoy which cannot be full at any time(400 is pretty high), and so on. I am trying to give myself some challenge by limiting my future runs, like how Maddening is limiting my exp income. My Hard/Classic no Pulse Ironman run - I am not worries. My Maddening run - still worried.
  9. Well, these results are somewhat disappointing. Most units fall into 5 classes for endgame: Wyvern Lord, Gremory, Dark Knight, Bow Knight or War Master. Kind of weird how Felix is the only good option for Mortal Savant and Swordmaster, and Catherine is the only Assassin. Honestly yeah, sword users are a bit out of place in this voting, and Petra can easily join them. Oh well, time to check out how good War Master is in endgame.
  10. Barbarossa is pretty much a no brainer for Claude. Great flying class for him. Dimitri is a prime dancer. JK, Great Lord is also a solid class. Edelgard I went with Emperor, but didn't finish her route yet. @Jayvee94 Where can I find the result of the previous votes?
  11. Seteth: Wyvern Lord. Kind of an obvious choice for him Catherine: she's a great Swordmaster, won't disappoint even if she doesn't change class. Manuela: I never had an endgame Manuela yet, so I'm not sure. Mortal Savant? I'd like to talk about Battalions in the future instead.
  12. So overall what just happened is censorship: changing good dialogue writing into bad dialogue writing. Proof that word by word translation is still not a good thing.
  13. I'd buy a remade version of the Judgral games. I love the story those games told, but I know the Genealogy gameplay can be better. A remake of Thracia would be also appreciated, but the old fog of war must be replaced. Also make staves less broken.
  14. So I want to confirm with you guys some early game strategies about Maddening. Can we say that in general Aux battles are less useful? You can work on supports and get some gold out of it, but the experience cut on them is severe. On the other hand getting statboosters from gardening could be more beneficial. I'm actually considering to do cooking now, and re-evaluate Rally and Personal skills. I am paying more attention to enemy skills and AS now, like more than anything. Or do Seminars become relevant?
  15. Ok, I' still doing the early game, and now I got a Lv4 Aux battle, where my team is still on an average of 3 - and it felt like an impossible situation. For reference, it's the same as Hanneman x Manuela paralogue map. On the right there's 3 thief with Pass in the forest, and they can reach all the tile on the hill. Defending is impossible, even if you wall with your units in front of the forest, they can just go past you with Pass.
  16. Oh wow, Kostas map in the Red Canyon is serious, I'm going to try it for the 3rd time. Levelling up is more difficult now, I got almost no exp from the first Aux battle. Also the game throws at you Lv9-11 units with Lancebreaker+, Pass and Poison Strike. They can easily double most of your units. Too bad I can't buy battalions yet. I'm doing it on Golden Deer route btw with Female Byleth, no NG+(I'm taking on the challenge). Recruited Sylvain already, so my defensive frontline is a Lv3 Leonie-Sylvain combo. So that being said, my Hard/Classic no Pulse run is on hold right now.
  17. Here's what I had first: Byleth - Enlightened One (he was ahead of the class for a long time) Claude - Barbarossa (this class is just excellent for him) Hilda - Wyvern Master Raphael - Great Knight (I might try War Master instead) Leonie - Bow Knight (Paladin route) Ignatz - Bow Knight (Sniper route, let him stick with bows) Lysithea - Gremory (this is a no brainer, like she is) Marianne - Dancer (otherwise turn her into a healer. She can also make it into a Holy Knight) Lorenz - Dark Knight (I had the most issues with him)
  18. What is better for support levels? Explore and Eat Together, or doing Battles?
  19. That's the order I played them as well, and I'd suggest the same. Blazing is not difficult, it's a more balanced game in the series.
  20. Not that I'm interested in these kind of conversation, but Ashe does feel like having the vibe for it.
  21. Whenever I look at the attire of base Byleth and Englightened Byleth I have the feeling that Male Byleth is the intended avatar for this game. Female Byleth feels like the generalization of late female asian rpg archetypes where clothing is - I'm pretty confident on this - not designed by a female. I mean is there a female who'd dress in medieval fantasy in short skirts and weird fashioned stocking while their belly button is out? Remember, you are a mercenary who just became a high school teacher. So yeah, male Byleth is more beliveable for me, but there's also the slight bias that I used male Byleth first, and looking forwards to get more of his S support waifus.
  22. Mercedes: best healer, obvious Bishop. Possibly Gremory for the extra move. Ignatz: Bow Knight from Sniper from Archer. Trust me on this one. Flayn: Holy Knight. She needs her Faith magic for Fortify/Rescue, and has a good resistance against magic users. Efficiency in both Faith and Lance skills, Don't let that down arrow in Riding discourage you, the extra move with Canto is always nice to have for her endgame.
  23. If you are looking for a challenge in the future, I'd recommend Binding Blade one day. Hard mode was hard, but it was a satisfying victory - the early game can be bad for some famous chapters. If you want true ending, check a guide for details. While the difficulty wasn't horrible, the game managed to keep the difficulty on a level, unlike Blazing Sword, where the game gets easier the longer you play (and suddenly a difficulty spike on final chapter). Thracia I already explained, but I still think it's the toughest Fire Emblem game. Like guides are very much needed, because the game throws a lot of things at you that you might call a BS scenario. Sometimes that's what I admire about Thracia though. It was my Fire Emblem experiences put to a test, so I'd go for that after another difficult fire emblem game has been beaten.
  24. My Bernadetta had a weird situation where her competition was Dimitri and Claude - considering how Dimitri was against to be the representative before, this was funny. Also Marianna faced Dedue and Raphael in another run - don't ask me how did she win.
