  1. People voted for beardless Hector so there'd be a pretty big uproar if we got anything else. If it was obvious that it was a fake beard then maybe they could get away with it. Actually, have the best of both worlds by giving everyone a Fake Beard accessory.
  2. Used to be that T19.5 required minimal investment and was therefore a clear advantage in terms of feather income vs expenditure. Now though, I no longer think that's the case. I've only just recently returned to that level thanks to HM farming, and in order to recoup the feather cost, it would take several *years* at least. So yeah, from that point of view, it is an absolute false economy. It's a pretty basic calculation. T18.5 is 1900 feathers a week on average (alternating between 2000 and 1800). T19.5 is 2500 feathers on average. Over the course of a year, that's barely over 30000 extra feathers from arena. T18.5 requires no merges. Therefore if T19.5 requires more than 1.5 merges to achieve, you won't pay back the feathers over the course of a whole year. It requires a hell of a lot more merges than that, and realistically, FEH will die before you can recoup the costs.
  3. Did you do a fight after changing the defense team? It doesn't update until you do something else so the team on your phone gets synced with the server.
  4. The problem is that refresh and heal are both assists, so you can't have both in any smart way. Either it always does both which is problematic (e.g. healing people out of desperation range), or you simply choose one or the other. Of course, it's perfectly possible to just have a staff unit that *doesn't* heal, and just refreshes and does damage/debuffs with their staff. The game mechanics already support that as-is. Whether they would they do that, I don't know, given the ingrained association people have formed that staves = heals.
  5. Check your defense team has a bonus unit. There's no such thing as partial victory, you either completely kill them or they surrender. I wouldn't say it's a matter of difficulty competing that's driving most of the complaints. It's the extra tedium of having to force-feed kills that makes arena even more of a chore than it was previously, and the disappointment of not actually getting to use your best painstakingly built units to actually kill things. After all, most players will probably end up with a similar number of bonus points a week as each other. The only difference is that each and every one of them had to put in more effort because of the redesign, extra effort that brings no extra reward.
  6. A refresh that has a cooldown isn't going to happen. I suspect they'd take the easiest route, with Anew just being a Dance/Sing clone with no special effect, then giving her a B skill that heals whenever dance is used. And everyone would unequip it for WoM because uncontrolled healing is bad. As for the general topic I don't mind the non-canonicity of FEH implementation of heroes. I think it's fantastic that units such as Raven got converted over to cover for the glaring fast-axe niche for example, and I have no problem with Archer Faye. What matters though is that they should use the opportunity to make interesting units, and Tobin 100% fails that test. More conversions please. Leif really needed something else.
  7. Near-disaster. Wanted to get my last Lilina, so I opened all reds. All 3-star junk. Opened the final two blues because of my annoyance. Last orb salvaged the pull. 3* Draug +Atk -Res 3* Eirika +HP -Spd 3* Stahl +Spd -Def 4* Jagen +Def -Res 5* Ephraim +Res -Spd Not having any banners to actively focus on ruins my discipline. Got away with that one. Res/Spd is terrible but I've got an Atk/Def one so eh, immediate merge. And in doing so I noticed he still only has Def+3 in his A-slot, I should probably give him something better. Decent Draug too I guess after I accidentally foddered my only good previous one.

  9. Swords are commonly used as sidearms so just about everyone having them is perfectly reasonable really no matter your choice of primary weapon.
  10. I had a vain hope that the bonus point system would be capped to one kill per map, but that was wishful thinking. Died a couple times trying to feed Freddy some kills, so I gave up and just treated the points as a bonus. Arena has always been relatively chill for me unlike AA, so I'm not going to let this change ruin that. Hopefully with my new merges, a couple bonus kills average per map will be enough. If not, and if that means sacrificing T20, then so be it. One nice perk of getting my run done early is that most defense teams are still fielding Fjorm from last week, so that's one free kill per match for Freddy. Ended with 3617 which is obviously a high score (previous best 3588), and it will be interesting to see where that lands. I can improve over the course of the week by adding some merges (potentially +1 to Nino and +3 to Nowi) and giving Freddy a 200 point B-skill (currently using his default 4* WoM2) and better seal.
  11. Permitted myself the indulgence of doing a full round. The focus units are decent enough, and I'm really itching to get my first +10, which would require one Lilina or Nino, or two Nowis or Tikis. 3* Caeda +Spd -Def 3* Mae +Res -Spd 4* M Robin +Def -Res 4* Arthur +Atk -Def 4* Frederick +Atk -Def That's a fail on both fronts. Oh well.

RD is clearly more efficient, taking about the same amount of time per run, if not less, and training up 8 units at a time (but say 6 on average to account for HM capped dancer carries or whatnot) compared to 2.5 units average on GHBs. However the required SI can be a bit restrictive, a lot of WoM is required. That said, apparently WoM1 is enough from a 3* Frederick so it's probably not too bad. Having to promote a unit at the cost of 2k feathers in order to earn feathers feels a bit counterproductive so I wouldn't do it if WoM1 wasn't enough. MeMU crashed about 2000HM into my overnight farming, so I'm 9000 feathers short today. :( It's arena promotion week so I need to push some merges.
  13. Another tempting daily banner, but I was presented with three greens, figures. I have both Elincia and Delthea but neither have good natures so I open the single orb of each colour. 3* Lilina +HP -Atk 4* Mathilda +Spd -Def Lilina can now get to +9 and get that all-important final point of Atk, excellent. Just one more copy to get my first +10, though objectively it's not that important since it'll only give her a point of Spd and a point of Def.
  14. Firesweep wants Life and Death, not Brazen. You're not meant to be taking damage with Firesweep and thus Brazen will never be active. And for the same reason, there's no point in Renewal, which would end up healing you and taking you out of Brazen range in the event that you were damaged. The simple Firesweep build would be LnD + Hit and Run (or Drag Back). Wrath isn't learnable by fliers, but even if it was, it wouldn't be a good choice for Firesweep. Now Firesweep works okay with her 32/35 offenses, but there's so much competition for that role, notably Cordelia's 35/35 and Shigure's 33/37 at neutral. But of course, none of her competitors have Hone Fliers, which makes her a key unit especially if a Blade mage is present. With that in mind, if you just want the one Firesweep lancer, then it's a perfectly reasonable choice. If you want a fleet of fliers though, it might be better to find her a better niche. Her personal weapon is nice too of course, especially since she'll probably be more a support unit than your key nuke, but I get the Dew problem with her: I haven't bothered with it myself, and just kept her default Brave Lance. Unfortunately, a brave weapon is a liability too with an Atk bane, so maybe consider a Slaying Lance instead if Dew is too much of a premium.
  15. Two greens and one blue. I want both Minerva and (another) Hinoka but as usual I go for the lone colour so I don't have to make a 50/50 decision. It's 4* Shanna HP/Atk which is fine by me. But those two green orbs are just sitting there, taunting me. What the hell, YOLO! I open both. 5* Minerva +Def -HP 3* Camilla +Spd -Res I've wanted Minerva for well over a year, so it's pretty cathartic. Especially given 5* Maria was my first ever 5* unit, I'm not usually sentimental but it's good to get the band together finally. That Camilla might be better than my current +Spd -HP one too assuming I don't give her DC. EDIT: Remarkably, she's the first focus unit I've pulled outside of a Legendary banner since Peganino in early June. Two months between drinks, no wonder I'm burnt out on summoning on regular banners.
  16. I have a fear that they might not increase the HM cap as a reaction to GHB HM farming. The increase to 5000 happened in the same update GHB stamina costs were abolished I think? That said, the horse has already bolted and it's hard to see a solution that'd go down well.

  19. 4* Niles +Spd -Def, already have two with the same nature so just Iceberg. 5 more chances to get a 5* freebie, chances are not looking great. ___________ Itching to complete my first 5*+10 but none of the candidates have been co-operative at the moment. Nino would cap at +9, Lilina, Tiki and Nowi (and soon Marthed Mask) at +8. No Pallas for months either, and I have two new fliers wanting Goad Fliers so that's a doomed project. Of projects I could start, Cordelia can get to 7, Olivia to 6, Oscar to, uh, 3. Cherche to +7 but not as keen on green. I could get Reinhardt to 9 and Tailtiu to 8, but I'm not too keen on either. Crazy that I've probably gotten more lifetime Tailtius than Tharjas though. There is one shining candidate that I could get to +10 with ease. And that's Cecilia. Sorry Vax. Y'know what, if the next legendary hero is Fire, I'll dedicate the entire month of September to +10ing Cecilia. I have a 4*+10 and a standalone 5* bow counter one, and 10 more on top.

  21. +Atk -HP. At +7 he has +3 to all stats from the merges, except his worst stat, so that's +2 to Res. If you look at your Alm versus an unmerged neutral, he has +0, +6, +3, +3, +2 advantage.
  22. First, the daily freebie: 4* Subaki Res/Def Eh, okay. Now just the free round on the dancers, not that I could afford more even if I wanted to. 4* Soren Def/HP 4* Stahl HP/Def 3* Hinata Res/HP 3* Matthew Atk/Spd 3* Lachesis Def/Res Oh well, Fury. Plus Soren goes to 4*+9, and would be +10 if I promoted my lone 3* one. Almost certainly done with the banner, even if the next one is a total stinker I think I'm still more likely to go all in on the legendary one.
  23. That'd imply that CYL2 would have to be the August banner and not the September one though. See if there's a hint FEH channel over the coming week I guess.
