  1. Just a list of things that I think would be interesting in FE14. Since I've only played Awakening and am working my way through Blazing Sword, I apologize if I suggest something that's already been done. 1. Besieging Castles/Fortresses/Cities Imagine if you have soldiers manning catapults and trebuchets attacking and breaking down the walls of a city while you fight the enemy forces on the ground. The Catapults would be quite weak to melee so you would need to protect them from enemy units. This could be quite interesting and feel a lot more rewarding than just hitting a wall with your weapon. 2.Height (of terrain) Providing Extra Range for Archers Ex. If an archer moves onto a hill his range for his bow would increase from 2 to 3. Hills would cost extra movement to enter. Making sure you have possession of the hills would be key to winning battles 3. MULTIPLAYER This is a no-brainer, multiplayer would be amazing (Yes I know shadow dragon had multiplayer) Matchmaking would be done by the average rating of your submitted units (8 units per player). Matches would have a turn timer as well as a "shot clock" to make sure that players aren't stalling, but actually attacking each other. It would also make sure that you don't fight players with characters that are spoilers. Pair up system will definatley be nerfed. 4.No Time-Travel and New Cast of Characters I'm done with time-travel, can we please have an original plot with a new cast of characters, in a new continent. Marriage system should remain, but introduce the children after a time-skip. 5.Weather Ex. (Snowstorm/Blizzard would decrease accuracy, Extreme Heat would cause heavily armored units to move slower) Some enemies may be used to these conditions and be unaffected, some units you recruit may also be used to these conditions and be unaffected. So those are some of my ideas, what are some of yours? What are some problems with my Ideas?
  2. Hello! This here is a thread I started to discuss and help refine ideas I had for an FE game. So, why don't I start out? My plot frame: You have a Mercenary band, whom are hired by a kingdom (Lanex) to help them avoid being conquered by a neighboring kingdom (Akur) who is currently kicking their ass. Events ensue and we see that the king of the Akur (Albin) has a talented warrior and tactician (Cyth) leading his army, whom also seems to be very secluded. The player army eventually leads a counter offensive against Akur after being typical FE protagonists and kicking everyone into ash. In one timeline (ah la Awakening), the army goes in and defeats Albin, but Cyth starts a trap, incapacitating the mercenary force and allowing him to take control of Akur and lead a yet more successful military campaign, taking over the continents and (when they attack him once again) killing the original generation. This leaves the second generation alone in a desolate future, where the children, resorting to underground tactics, can barely put up a fight and are soon defeated by Cyth who, testing the power of a new incarnation of the Fire Emblem (Dark Emblem, a treasure hidden within the castle of Akur from a war many centuries ago), fucks up time itself and sends the children and a bunch of other things back to the past, just after the start of the original quest. The break in time causes a similar reaction to occur with the Dark Emblem in the past, and now a whole new chain of events have been set into action to motivate the rest of the game. Well, that was the basic outline of the plot. Of course, it's devoid of a ton of details, backstory, and the extensive character list I created (as well all the gameplay ideas I had), but I thought it was a good way to break the ice. So please, tell me what you think of this and any future updates I may have. All constructive criticism in great appreciated!
  3. I wasn't sure where exactly to put this... so it goes here for now. I think this is the best place for it anyway. Anyway, here goes. So for some strange reason I keep dreaming about another FE game. And while most of the dream's details are painfully fuzzy, I've managed to compile enough little details and pieces to actually do something about it, so maybe my brain won't harass me about it anymore. I have no idea what I'm going to do with this roster once I make it, but forget technicalities. Let's do this thing. So a couple of rules/notes: One, the roster layout I'm using is Awakening's first generation layout. Because Awakening has a couple of doubles that I can replace with other options, quickly. Second, the first generation alone is a pretty decent size for a Fire Emblem game. Third, this is all from a dream I'm having, so wishful thinking and improbability is abound. If so, point it out. Fourth, just because these are coming from my head doesn't mean you can't share some of your opinions and ideas either. You know me, I love opinions. Alright. List, go! Note that anything with an asterisk can be switched out for another class or removed, and any notes that are italiziced are recent. Lord: Terra Wind Mage: Windsor (... that's a terrible pun I swear.) Jeigan/Oifey: Chantal Priest/Cleric: Narcisse Red Cavalier Archer: Laurel Fighter: Demeter Green Cavalier Fire Mage: Amaranth Knight: Lachlan Pegasus Knight: Calanthe Myrmidon Thunder Mage Troubadour: Somnifer Thief: Nonery Pegasus Knight: Iris Mercenary: Olivier Manakete: Grima Jeigan/Oifey* Dark Mage Dancer Wyvern Rider Light Mage: Lorelei Pegasus Knight: Garnet Comment, add, theorize away, folks. :)
  4. In a time gone by, the holy kingdom of Thebea and the Jotana empire were at war. Then, Jotana got greedy and launched an assault on the numerous city states in the highlands to the north. However, under the leadership of Pericles, first emperor of Marchea, the city states united into the Marchean Empire. Marchea crushed Jotana, ad took most of their land, becoming overnight the most powerful empire on the continent of Nactia. Meanwhile, the monarchy of Thebea was overthrown by a brutal revolution that massacred the nobility. The infant princess Sylvia was rescued from execution and adopted by Vespasian, supreme commander of Marchea's army. Marchea and the de facto dictatorship of Thebea have been at an uneasy peace ever since. However, First citizen Maximus of Thebea and Empress Cornelia of Marchea have been pushed into alliance against the return or Jotana. In the second Great War of Nactia, there will be betrayal, death, sorrow, and, most of all, friendship. That is the background of an idea for FE 14 that could become a fanfic, depending on the response to the idea. I will now go into detail about the characters and nations. Lords Sylvia is a bit of a cross between Marribelle and Sully. On the one hand, she is the ex-princess of what was once the most culturally advanced nation, but she is also raised by Marchea's best general, so she was raised to be a warrior. More than anything, she seeks justice towards Maximus, first citizen of Thebea, for the genocide of the men, women, and children of the aristocracy. She also wishes to reclaim her throne. Alphonse is a mercenary who fights against Jotana for revenge. He is inspired by Scar from Fullmetal Alchemist and Lonqu from FE 13. He knows full well what Thebea has done, but considers them better than Jotana. (He has a negative history with Marchea). Alphonse and Sylvia get put in the same special ops unit in the allied army, and must work out their differences to defeat their common foe. Other good guys Vespasian has all of the physical prowess of General Zelgius and the tactical genius of Soren. He is the supreme commander of Marchea's army, and is a kind but demanding father to Sylvia. He has a mysterious past and a dark secret. Alexander is Vespasian's biological son and is a captain in Marchea's army. He is Sylvia's older brother and the Jagen. Cornelia is the empress of Marchea and is like Emmeryn except resorts to violence quicker. She cares for her people, but encounters opposition for her gender. Nina is the princess of Marchea who is captured by Jotana, an event which sets the first part of the plot into motion. She is pampered, but is good at heart. Xexes is the Prime Minister of Marchea. He is a commoner who rose up against the odds. These are the non main good guys who drive the plot. There are other, more minor characters, much like any FE game. Villains Napoleon is the insane king of Jotana, who desires revenge against Marchea for executing his father. Bernardo is Napoleons brother, with a deep rooted hatred towards Vespasian. Joseph is Napoleons son, who fights in the hopes of pleasing his father. Maximus is first citizen of Thebea, who wants to unite the continent under democracy by any means necessary. What do you guys think? Any feedback? If demand is great enough, I will make this into a fanfic.
