ZemZem Posted May 7, 2014 Author Share Posted May 7, 2014 My top choices for Hoenn mega evos: Sceptile: Grass/Dragon would provide interesting coverage, and I can see it either running a physical sweeping set, a special sweeping set, or a mixed sweeping set. 4x weakness to Ice would bite, of course, as well as the gained weakness to Fairy, but there are ways to work around those, of course. Swampert: Dunno what to say other than this beast becoming more of a slow wall with amazing attack. Metagross: I agree with the reasons stated before in this thread. It needs help. Mega luvdisc: HP: 43 ATK: 30 DEF: 80 SP.ATK: 75 SP.DEF: 85 SPD: 113 Ability: A new ability that is the special version of Pure/Huge power. Not that great, but good enough. They'd need a really powerful ability to make up for 405 BST (and I just dislike them as pokemons and think there are other pokemons more worthy of the Mega-evo honor than pika clones. Since they promoted the double battle mechanic, it would be interesting if they had a special mega evos that made them both evolve at the same time and gain a good double ability. Anyway, now that I think about it, aside from Luxray and the starters, I think that Pokemon with a BST of 500 or less should be the prime targets for mega evolution. The less popular Pokemon, too, like Masquerain. Also, what about a Mega Sableye? Mawile got one, after all, and they're two version exclusives of Ruby/Sapphire. There seems to be no real pattern to which guys are getting it, either; some Pokemon that didn't need the buff *coughGarchompBlaziken* got it while others who DESPERATELY needed a boost (IE, Mawile/Charizard) got one too; some of them were popular (Charizard/Lucario/Absol), some were really obscure (Medicham/Pinsir/etc.). Just about the only ones we can count on for sure are Lati@s and the starters, but I'm definitely curious to see which others get Megas. I'd like to see them do something with that idea. Dusknoir to match Banette. Sableye to match Mawile. Camerupt and Sharpedo for the team leaders.
