It’s the second non-gaiden chapter in the whole game that doesn’t have a potential new character. It honestly felt kinda weird not having a secondary objective. [spoiler=Chapter 17] I’m so glad that Ilia’s the default and not Sacae. Damnit politics Why not nominate someone competent, like Barth? He’s even literally a General. I’ve got enough units to field an entire page worth. Maybe it’ll be a sad story about leaving the ocean behind “Sit on your respective castle gates until Roy’s army comes up and plinks you to death” Gale keeps getting shoehorned into all of these scenes for no real reason. I think I’m supposed to care about him or something? Ditto for Yoder, but at least he has some plot significance. I think this is the last time I see him until he goes and solos the Sacae route for me or whatever shenanigans go on that result in him getting Murgleis. Yoder points out that this is another gimmick map Chapter start! I’ve hit that point in FE6 where Killer weapons almost completely replace all other physical weapons. Wade thinks he’s a Beyblade I’m pretty sure the only reason this staff exists in the capacity that it does is because the game makers knew that you’d have a bunch of promoted magic users with E staves, so they gave you one that would make them useful. Also, I’m selling these because they were just taking up room in my convoy. These, on the other hand, are always appreciated I still don’t know what’s up with ballista priority I feel like they missed out big time by making a spell as cool as Fimbulvetr and then making it appear something like 5 times among all three GBA games Backwards feeding Surprise! I honestly don’t know why they put this here, it’s faster to go around the long way by the time the sandbar finally shows up and it’s not difficult in the slightest to go either way. He’s now got more Res than he’s forecasted for at 20/20. In fact, he’s pretty much right on with 20/15 Wade, except that he needed the Book to get the skill he should have had. These reinforcements were kind of a pain And by ‘pain’ I mean ‘easy sniper exp’ Crappy chip yields a crappy level Hugh barely takes him out Vs Arcardo. I spend an awkwardly long time feeding him to Sophia GJ Wendy. Keep it up and maybe you can pull yourself out of dead weight territory The Arcardo saga continues, as do the sub-par levels. I’ve never wanted Skill levels so badly before. The OTP has been completed. Now they can slowly grow old together and have 1/8th dragon babies and rule Pherae for eons. And with that, the chapter’s over Did Arcardo have that much power? I thought he was just a minor noble in charge of a mine. Stay tuned for next week’s shocking episode of “Game of Seize the Thrones” Also, holy wow, y’all are pretty into the whole Karel debate. I’m kinda shocked. Also, here's the next chapter! [spoiler=Chapter 18] If you’re gonna reuse a character portrait, you should maybe have more than a one chapter break between them. Oh wow, this one has the same name as pre-patch “Use Physic and Warp and be pretty much the best Dark Magic user in the series” That sounds kinda more like an Anima spell, what with it being nature based and all *Obvious foreshadowing* “Niime is the best, blah blah blah, too bad she’s not with us because she’s so great” I actually visited one of the houses. I quite honestly forget that you can even visit them most of the time. The crew’s on the move. Nothing is much of a threat when you’ve got 15 guys to throw at them. Staff luring makes status staves a lot more manageable. A bunch of fliers bum rushed Hugh. Sadly, he can’t double. Saul got Berserked, so it was Clarine’s time to shine. She hasn’t really done anything since the first half of the game. Hugh’s on his way to speedyness. More Mag would be nice, though. This crit actually secured this kill by 1 HP. Wade’s on top of things. Geese is still really bad This is the plot of this chapter in a nutshell Oh no, a Light Brand Wade is not having any of it I actually got to use one of the ballistae This is like, 50% of her levels, in case y’all hadn’t noticed Now that I’m used to Barth, I’ll never go back to Bors, even if he tries to bribe me with levels like this Hey there (Yeah, I missed the cap) I am not a fan of these guys …Or this guy. Geese made himself useful and got the southmost village No big Sophia had two Flux uses left, so I had her play healer for the map. There are too many maps in a row without a shop in the Ilia route. He can only get one of Mag or Spd per level, but at least he’s been getting good ones 11 Spd Berserker. I guess, that’s what Garret and Hawkeye both start with, but Geese has 9 base and a 40% growth. This should never happen. Goddess Icons are kind of the crappy knockoff statboosters that nobody really cares about. I am maybe not paying as much attention to this guy as I should be Dodgelevel It feels like all of my good levels are landing on units who’re already past saving. Yay, money. Promotion items this late in the game kinda feel like a waste. I guess if you didn’t know about the secret shop this might be useful-ish. Yeah, I did. I gave it to him at the start of 16x. [spoiler=Chapter 19] She’s like, one of two girl bosses in the whole game, iirc. 3 if you count Idounn or whatever her name is nowadays. The cold never bothered me anyway She’s just the female version of the “B-boss!” guy. And I, being the genius that I am, benched Cath for the chapter in favour of Douglas Ilia and Sacae are pretty much just a series of filler maps that exist so that you can have people talk plot in between them without having to sit through half an hour of dialogue First off: buying Fluxes for Sophia. The leading lady needs to be properly equipped. This Peg Knight was doubled by Barth. GBA Pegs are the best. Sleeping on the job Spoilers: Hugh doesn’t dodge a ballista shot all chapter. It’s kinda hard to tell my army apart when I’ve got so many units of the same classes House visitation. This chick apparently doesn’t know the name of the castle that governs over her. It’s very likely the name of the region, too. I was worried at first, but the Druid only has sticks. Healing level. Sophia’s a boss. I sell the Guiding Ring, since I’m not promoting Saul. This is Douglas’ only real use. Psh, she’s fine Nope Aircalibur’s such a nice spell in Ilia. At least she’s finally proc-ing some strength Significantly less boss heal level The Long Ballistae completely caught me off guard. 15 range and existent power is kinda frightening. It doesn’t matter how bad your stats are with 60 crit They had an ancient prophecy for a buyable tome. Chipping with the brave bow, no big This is the worst game In bizarro FE6, Sophia’s the only one who can hit and she procs Def when she levels Wade gets a fantastic level. And by that I mean one with Spd. I do not understand this Troubador’s AI script. It ran adjacent to an injured Peg and right past an injured Cav so that it could just kinda stand awkwardly rubbing against Barth. Maybe it knew that it would give the crappiest level possible (Barth has 100% HP growth), and thus sacrificed itself to hinder my army in the long run Fun fact: you can’t attack from a ballista with a bow in your inventory if there’s no bolts left in the ballista. Possibly not if there are bolts left, either, but it’s never really come up before. Surprise reinforcements from nowhere I blow more valuable weapons on them because F da police Yussssss. Wendy’s pseudo-viable now. Time to hurry things up Like I was saying… This was a 1% crit on Barth. It was beautiful.
