In hindsight I probably should have also bought an angelic robe for Maria and/or Linde.

Our boss. Doesn't seem that much more threatening that the boss from last chapter, until you remember that he halves the attack of units who go after him, and Marth is really the only one who can damage him.



Minerva uses the last statbooster. No favouratism here.



We have plenty of door keys, so we can go straight this way. On my last playthrough I forgot to get door keys and didn't deploy a thief, so I had to take the long way around.

I remember someone on Smashboards who used to say that Book 1 Marth was a "weak Lord." This person shall henceforth be referred to as "dumbass", because Marth was great. The lack of a promotion is a bit of a bummer, but he was so awesome he didn't even really need one.




Probably a candidate for MVP, especially in the early chapters when she was the only combat unit besides Marth. Her biggest weakness is her low Strength growth, but I never found her lacking in offensive power.




BEST HEALER

Seriously, she's the best healer in the game. And once she promoted she was an okay combat unit as well.

Are pretty terrible.

No beating around the bush here. Even when I fed her a bunch of statboosters (I think she got 3 speedwings over the course of the game), you were still only passable. If this weren't a girls only run I wouldn't have bothered with you.




MINERVA

THIS GURL

IS AMAZING

She was a great combat unit, and picked up most of the slack after Shiida hit level 20. Maybe it's bias, but I felt like she was one of best units over the course of the whole run alongside Shiida.




BEST MAGE

This was actually my first time using Linde in and version of FE1. I usually overlook her in favour of Merric, but I was pleasantly surprised. She started out a little too reliant on Aura, but she stepped it up pretty quickly.




Chapter 11 was pure magic. Other than that, she was just okay. Not bad, but not especially great either.




THWOMPtria

Holy shit, that defence. She had quite a rough start and was overshadowed by Minerva, Palla, and Shiida, but she eventually came into her own. Her strength growth was her biggest problem for me - especially early on, it felt like there were a lot of enemies she should have been able to kill that she couldn't. Still, a good unit overall.

She coundn't double ever and got doubled by anything with a speed stat, but when you have high defense and a powerful attack that ignores defence, that doesn't reall matter. Pretty good at dealing massive chip damage, if nothing else.




Est was an Est. Tha pretty much sums her up. In my opinion she's better than many later members of her archetype thanks to the mechanics of her game, and being only one Weapon Level away from using the Regalia helps a lot, but she still requires a bit of TLC to get going.




What did you expect from a unit who joins one Chapter from the end? Still, if it weren't for that join time, I think she might have been at least better than Maria.



Note to self: make sure this gets fixed in the next translation patch version.



We'll get to this next time. I may take a small break from this for a little while ( I have another project I'll be starting soon), but we'll be back eventually for Book 2!
