Thoughts on this chapter

short and sweet! It's perfect and shit gets harder the more you try to abuse it. Again however abusing is actually worth it so you might want to dial down on the gems.

other then that the turn count allowed works and gives plenty of wiggle room.

The pikes are as tall as a knights lance, but maybe they just barely scraped the height limit? Kinda wanted to push the creativity of what can be done with map sprites with that one.

As for the disguise glitch, have no idea what causes it or why it exists. Just happens when there are 32 enemies on the map in just that chapter.

Good luck with the next chapter. It probably needs heavy nerfing in HM.

Thoughts on this chapter

looks hard but it is pretty fucking solid. Generals and armors are getting nerfed so no complaints here either.

My only gripes are how useless the silence staff is when it was a reward from the last chapter and how the penalty can be easily trivialized too here as well. The need for other penalties other than anna taking your gold, needs to be said again.

I loved it even though I am not sure if I played it right or what the game over bad end was. Now for the small problems.

- Malik not weak to horse slayer weapons

- Again, the green units were super weak. Not sure if it was intentional but they didn't even last 2 turns or even 1 like that dragoon.

- Late is better than never but those horse slaying weapons could useful earlier on.

Ah then my next question is why so much hp? He has 64 hp with two bishops carrying recover. That seems a bit much no?

Epilogue: Growths

since there is no ending right now, will show off the growths of the characters I used and some of the early game characters.

(Going by the growth rates in the character screen not class)

First off

Astrea's growths:

Hp: 70%

Str: 40%

Skill: 40%

Spd: 45%

Luck: 45%

Def: 25%

Res: 25%

not bad, pretty balanced all around.

and that is as far as a got because the characters are still FE8 named in nightmare and FEditor won't let me check portraits so yeah.

Rankings I guess.

The Failures

Huge disappointments, Complete waste of exp training these dudes.

The Replaced

Evan knew of his fate but kath got screwed. In fact we got screwed because I gave her so much exp only for kenton to completely blow her away. Might want to buff kath or give her more stat specialization blademaster!.

The Decent

They weren't great but when it came their time to shine, they were super novas. Nell was a complete surprise, she worked her ass off to get off the bench and into my top team. Other benched units take notes.

The Elite

They may not have been broken but when the chips were down and I needed a win, I could count on one of them to pull it off.

The Best Unit in the Game So Far

Not even debatable, she can dance, heal, and fucking steal. Also showing these young'ins that they ain't shit cause she is a old grandma too. Get schooled and get off her lawn you lil hooligans.

The Monsters

When I needed to reduce the numbers, they are the ones I called. Took nicole some levels but man y'all should have seen how easy it was to start one shotting people left and right when I turned her into a sniper. Golden boy I take it back when I called you useless, the game made you take a late start to give the enemies a chance. Astrea, omg astrea, breaking the "only blue haired lords can be beast" trend 1 rounding everything with a thunder sword. Once that broke, it was too late for the game, you was now too strong for mere exp fodder to even hope they could take you down.

The Wait and See

only time will tell if you guys can keep up. I have few limited slots and a lot of talent so work hard guise.

The rest is not important enough to mention.

Final thoughts for Now

Had a blast playing this, This is looking like a complete hack here with ton's of units to choose from.

Storywise: A lot to take in but interesting at parts. Far better to read than to show because when you go to show it off, you realize it has a shit ton of dialogue. Some of it is kind of useless because at the moment it goes no where. Not going to comment too much on this because the hack is not finished.

Gameplay:

Now this is where the hack really shines, sure it has it's bullshit moments but the new WTA and some of the skills make the player pay attention or get boned. I am not a fan of the jake and anna system but it has potential and needs some refinement. (I.e different penalties than just money loss) Also needs places where enemies drop stuff because I have never realized just how cool that mechanic was until it barely showed up in this hack. Which reminds me, be aware of how much money one can get if they steal everything because it really takes away from the anna penalty/Jake award. Just makes it an annoyance more than anything at that point. (In fact I had far more fun when there was no jake and anna so yeah definitely improve more on that.)

Minor stuff:

Big shield might need some tweaking, it activated way too much for everybody that had it, enemies/allies alike. If charles didn't suck so much, you would have seen me abusing it.

Seriously, don't buff armors, you made them so strong and I think this happened because you pretty much made phobs? connected to armor classes.

Torches/Anti-toxin are actually useful in your hack, let the player get some of these somewhere.

side note: sorry for grammar mistakes. especially if they seem more frequent lately, eye strain + adjusting to new glasses + brain is going faster than I can type therefore skipping words has really working my eyes to weird sight levels so forgive me.

Short break then my next LP will be FE7 3 lord + (Matthew and Serra) run. Already 13 chapters in and Lyn mode is already done (yep lyn solo guys) so happy holidays.

with that said i do agree that Derek is the worst character in the whole hack, bar none, despite that he can use three weapons, his growths never seem to go anywhere. and i'd assume he has a late promotion.

Chunji got some buffs since he can use bows and Javelins have more hit now. As for Derek, I didn't think he was that bad. I don't remember if I gave him buffs recently. Katherin still seems good enough to me to not warrant buffing, though feedback I've gotten seems to suggest she's not that good in hard mode compared to normal, which doesn't bother me too much.
