So the dream Fire Emblem battle thread has encouraged me to create something I've been hankering to do for a while. I present to you, the Fire Emblem Stat Inflation Calculator

So what the hell is this you might be asking? Well Fire Emblem is a series where units fight each other. And naturally the nerd with in us wants to know who would win in a fight between units in one game or another. Only issue is that because all of these games are designed differently, how strong or weak someone is changes from game to game. Galzus comes with 20 strength in Thracia, but Leo has 22 strength in Fates. Yet we all know from playing the game that Galzus has a better strength stat than Leo. In Thracia the average strength stat is 14.4, while in Fates it's 26.3, so clearly Galzus is among the strongest of the cast in his game while Leo is among the weaker of the cast in his game. So by the power of mathematics I have calculated all the averages of all the playable units of all the stats in the series to get a calculator that adjusts for inflation. Basically you choose a game, type in a stat and viola, it converts it into a standard number that should allow you to compare any two units in the series. Well actually I lie. Not any two units in the series as I have not been able to get averages for the units in Genealogy of the Holy War and Awakening. But any two units from any of the other two games.

If anyone wants a more indepth explanation as to exactly how the mathematics is working out, have a look over here.

The calculator is simple to use. If you follow that link above you'll get a spread sheet. So as to avoid people using it at the same time (or someone messing up my code), you're going to have to hit make a copy. Then from the calculator tab you can select a game, select a unit from that game and hit the generate stats button. This will show you the character's adjusted stats. Any characters with adjusted stats should be comparable to each other. The next tab over is labelled Coliseum. There you can simulate a battle between the two units. When you first hit the Generate Stats button you might get this form popping up asking for the script to get permissions, this is just to let my code change the values on the spreadsheet which now belongs to you because you made a copy of it. It's all perfectly safe, but if that's too scary you don't have to use the generate stats button. You can type on the stats manually into the boxes and the results will be the same. You can even type in specific stats for your own units (as the generated stats takes a character's averages). So you can see if your own rng blessed/cursed Lyn could take on your own unique rng blessed/cursed Roy. Without allowing the permissions, you won't be able to use the Coliseum function though.

So I hope that wasn't all too technical and that you understand. Basically this calculator lets you input whatever numbers you want from whatever game and it will give you how strong that character is in the series over all (providing all my maths is right, if you see any errors do tell).

EDIT: Thanks to the efforts of @L3xandr3 and myself, stats for Genealogy of the Holy War and Awakening have been calculated too giving us access to every playable Fire Emblem character in the series thus far. And any future game release I plan on adding to this too.

just run it, and Alm have waay higher stat vs. Ike in PoR. im sure Tellius diehard fans will be mad now :v

Yeah it's taken my their maximum average levels. Alm is actually quite a bit weaker than he by all rights should be as I've included Over Classes which give other characters an opportunity to catch up to Alm and render him less above average for his game.

If you've inputted the numbers right Alm shouldn't be higher than POR!Ike. Their numbers should come out as

Ok, I'm awake and feeling normal. Do you need the Awakening/Fates kids, too? If so, how should I go about the Awakening kids? Lv20/20, or going off their caps?

I might be biting off more than I can chew, but I may as well do something constructive with my time. I'm currently out of work do to health issues, so I have a lot of spare time.

As I outline in this post

I think it's better off being 20/20 stats. Yeah, it's not really the way in which Awakening is played, but neither is full caps truly as characters still do have growths and will cap things at different rates. Also for Fates (where I could find a preexisting calculator) I simply made Corrin the parent for every child character. Because otherwise there'd be far too many units, probably ranging into the thousands when you factor in branched promotions as well. I think Awakening can similarly just have Robin be the parent of every child.

Did you just work out the characters stats there and type it into the Serenes post one at a time or did you use a spread sheet? Because I could copy and paste it into the calculator much easier if it's already been done on a spreadsheet.

I worked them out and calculated them into Microsoft Word, then copied that over to the post. I'll get started on the Awakening calculations. I assume I should use Robin (No boon/bane) as the variable parent of all the kids, then.

Yes. No boon or bane. And I suggest putting the stats in a spread sheet this time around. Not only is it easier to copy and paste, but it makes for neater arrangement of columns rather than tabbing all over the place.

Oh wow. I didn't even know Awakening had hard mode bases. I used Hard mode stats in Binding Blade so follow suit with Lunatic there.

The idea is to have both. Take a look at the link in the OP. Fates and Scared Stones characters (at least those who aren't prepromotes) are listed as Lissa (Sage) and Lissa (War Monk) with two different sets of stats each.
