It's not just about numbers, though. Clearly, people who wanted him to win worked herd for that win, which shows dedication and desire. So, not just perticipation, but how hard you're willing to work for it.

Participation is literally a measure of how invested players are in each team, though.

It should be expected that they would have data on how many distinct players voted during each hour and how many ballots and flags were spent, which should be more than enough to quantify "how hard you're willing to work for it" and is certainly more representative of "dedication and desire" than the single data point of who won, which is a measurement that includes confounding variables that have no relationship at all to player investment.

Heck, they probably even have numbers for where players move after each team is knocked out, which can also reveal patterns. Or at least, if I were designing the data reporting from Voting Gauntlets, I'd definitely include that measurement.

I see. See, I think of "participating" as just joining a team. Like, you register, but may or may not actually work hard for a win, coordinating when to use flags and all that.

"Dedication" my ass. Caspar was so behind Freyja (and Hilda) that every time I checked VG he had the multiplier consistently and all I had to do was throw in all my flags. I spent basically the entire VG playing NEO: TWEWY and forgetting Heroes existed anyway.

Had VG ended one hour earlier or later, Caspar be deader than Ashe's fishes.

I honestly barely bother with this mode anymore. I just pick my favorite and do the five battles to get the free orbs. The feathers are a bonus.

That said the thought of Caspar beating one of the game’s biggest waifus is hilarious (and I was Team Freyja from the start)

Voting Gauntlet was only a popular contest in the first 2, where multipliers didn't exist. If you want to know who army is the most popular here, just check the first hour scores.

You can't take this mode seriously, which I am glad that I never did. I am only there for the feathers. I don't even care in what team I am. From all these characters, I like Ashe the most here... and I didn't even join his army in rounds 1 and 2. I went with Freyr, Caeda and Caspar for the chances of having more multipliers. I don't even have Caspar in round 3 but I joined his army anyway on Round 3, while having Freyja in my barracks.

I mean, I pulled for Caspar and later joined his team solely because of his fish. Can't have weirder motivations than that.
