      Oooh, I had absolutely no idea.

      But to be honest, I fully understand her. From the perspective of the artist, not from the Japanese perspective. If I were a content creator, such as with art, I would greatly fear what people would do with it. I won't go into all that I fear because it's just depressing, but I absolutely get it if it's from that point of view. People don't get that artist put hard work into their craft, and simply take stuff as if free to use and distort.

      Yeah I understand the viewpoint as well. The difference I seem to be seeing is that over here, when art is used as themes and whatnot, people don't just assume that it's the user's artwork because it's so common here for people to use others' art. People who like it tend to either ask for the source or ask "is that yours?" I guess depending on the situation and based on whether they specified somewhere that it isn't their art or not.

      But I totally get that people don't want their hard work stolen. I just find that they seem to care about it a lot more over there which might make it so foreign to them, the fact that we theme other people's work so regularly.
