  1. I hope for some surpises!

I love it, if a "small" football nation angers a "huge" football nation. Like the 1:1 :NewZealand: vs. :Italy: in WC 2010 or the fantastic performance of :SouthKorea: in their "home" WC 2002.

  2. Why not adding a poll, if you ask this question?

I won't watch every match, because some matches will be shown at night (0 AM) in Europe because of the different timezone.
But I will try to watch many of them as possible.

I hope for an exciting World Cup without incidents and maybe some surprises!

To my mind this thread is more generic.

This thread only asks the question, if we will watch the World Cup.

  3. Using Leonardo.

An archer that starts with 10 speed? Wow! That's amazing compared to archers in previous games. I knew the limitations with being bow-locked, but I thought he could still be fun to use. Nope!

Lughnasadh saves Leonardo. It gives him +5 speed, which equalizes his speed issue a little bit. If he reaches a speed of 15, he can double the tigers in part 3 and kill the hawks in 3-13 with one shot at least.

He's crap in part 1, but becomes semiuseful in part 3.

  4. Mists' main problem is that FE10 has no magical weapons. So she cannot use her Florett effectively due to her shitty strength base. And her magic base is also not very high, so I always give her Rhys' mend stuff in the beginning of part 3.

I use her mainly as healer, but if she can kill someone, I'll give her the kills. She has the advantage that she can promote at level 10 with the "holy crown". So it's not hard to give her 10 levels till part 4.

I only bring Mist to the endgame on easy mode because of "Alondite" and the fact she's Ike's sister. On harder difficulties her strength and defense are just too bad. And it's not worth to spend item boosts on her.

  5. I've completed my third HM run just this moment. It was surprisingly better than I expected.

Here's a summary about my run:

    First thing:

I used PoR boosts, so Jill and Ilyana could do more in part 1.

Part 1 was hard, but I had no death till 1-F. Jill died twice in 1-F.

I used Sothe, Volug and later Zihark to do chip damage to the enemies, so "weaker" units like Eddy, Leo or Micky could finish them. I didn't use Laura after chapter 6 so Zihark replaced her. After chapter 8 I dropped Aran because he was way too slow. I forged an iron axe for Jill and later a steel axe for Nolan.

I could promote Jill and Ilyana via masterseal. Ilyana brought the "paragon" skill to Greil's Mecenaries, because I didn't want to bring any DB units to the final except for the obligatory units. In general I don't recommend to do it, because DB members need all the exp, they can get especially on hard mode.

    I had these supports:

    Micky x Sothe (default)

    Edward x Leonard

    Nolan x Zihark

    Volug x Jill

Part 2 was not bad either:

The prologue was even easier, because Marcia had no more weapon triangle disadvantage. 2-1 is probably one of the most annoying chapters, if Nephenee has no boosts. You are under pressure to visit the villages, to recruit Heather and clean up the map. In 2-3 I gave Marcia 80% of the kills, because she's the only one Crimean Knight, I trained. In 2-F Haar, Elincia, Marcia, Brom and Nephenee were enough to defend. Elincia killed Ludveck.

Part 3 the chapters with GM were easy, but the DB ones were itense.

3-6 cost me lots of time and patience. I had to restart at least 5 times. The tigers have around 40 attack, so no one except for Volug and a very good Jill can survive two attacks of them. I spend much time to give the proper skills to the characters. I gave Jill a seraph robe, so she could survive two attacks by a tiger, because she had a great defense at this point already. I gave Nolan and Eddy bexp, so I promoted them in level 19 through using the masterseal.

In 3-7 my units had these skills

    Sothe: resolve

    Zihark: vantage, cancel, adept

    Jill: beastfoe

    Nolan: renewal

It worked much better, because Sothe, Volug and Jill could wreck the enemies. The supports helped me a lot for dodging. The only problem was that Eddy, Nolan and Leo could not get many levels.

Part 4 was easy except for 4-1, because the falcon knights can fly behind your defense line, but Soren's tornado and a sniper could eliminate this problem. 4-3 was easy, because I brought Jill. 4-4 was really fun, but also really difficult because of the mass of reinforcements from everywhere! I "sacrificed" Vika and Tormod in this chapter. I could train Ike and Mia very well in this chapter.

The final chapters are not hard, maybe except for the first one. I played these maps very agressivly, so I finished all maps in the final not later than turn 3.

    In summary:

Only the chapters with the DB were pretty difficult, especially if you don't use PoR boosts. Part 2 and 3 are marginal harder than on normal. Part 4 is also no big deal, if your groups are balanced.

I love the challenge on HM that you haven't the movement range of the enemies. So you really have to think in each turn.

    Here are a few tips:

    - give reasonable supports (earth-earth) and skill combos (vantage, cancel / vantage, adept / adept, cancel) to your units

    - only use characters, you really want to and don't train too many units

    - if someone from the DB has two very bad level ups in the beginning, I would drop it immediately

    - use prepromoted units only for doing chip damage, if it's possible

    - forge weapons, if you've enough money

    - bring Jill to the silver army in part 4

    - get the "nullify" skill in 2-F and give it to Haar or a falcon knight

    - use bexp. very carefully, because it's by far less than on normal mode; it's almost impossible to bring all units to level 20

  6. Chapter 10 is not a big deal, if you use ridersbone (horseslayer), Marth's Rapier and Caeda's wing spear to kill the cavaliers and knights. The few pegasus knights and wyvern knights are also no problem, if you bring archers, hunters or Merric with excalibur to this chapter.

The only one problem could be the sniper with the silver bow, so you need a unit with a decent speed and good defense to decoy him.

You have to free Maria and then Marth has to talk to her. If you have done it, Minerva will automatically talk to Marth and join the army.

The levels of your units are totally alright, because the enemies are lower level in this chapter (level 5-7 I guess). Wyvern riders and horse men bring more exp., if you kill them.

  7. Well, regardless, it really does feel like every single time Micky levels up, it's nothing but Magic, Luck and Resistance, especially when using Bonus XP; and the rest of the growths have the frequency of proccing as they do in FE11.

This is just standard for her class. Her only one issue is her poor speed growth, but all mages except for the both fire sages have this problem. I always have the same problems with her.

Like I said in a previous comment:

If she has maxed magic and resistance, I would recommend to give her bexp to equalize her deficit in speed. It really works! If she has high magic, resistence and a decent speed, Micky is pretty alright. Strength is not necessary, because light tomes have low weight except for purge.

  8. I thought the enemies are only using Druids and that Dark Sage was an exclusive class for Pelleas. If it's about Izuka, I vaguely remember l his animations to be quite buggy.

Yeah, there are no dark sages as enemies, if I am not wrong. There are only the druid boss Veyona in 3-3, two druids in 3-8 and a few of druids in 4-1. Izuka is a summoner. Pelleas is the only one dark sage in this game.

  9. I was very surprised and also very happy, when I read Ike is confirmed for SSB4.

It was funny the announcement of Ike's returning came just at the moment, when I started to play part 3 in FE10.

To be honest I did not expect to see Ike again in SSB. I predicted for a character from FE13. Maybe it will even happen.

  10. This happens here too, during hot summers when there is a cold front coming we get a huge temperature drop. (Not that much as you, but from 32°C to like 12°C in about 5 minutes)

Its the change of weather that makes Ohio special

It can go to 90 to 30 in a quick second

    Its happened before

I think the extreme temperature differences in a short time have a geographical reason. In central Canada and Midwest the wind can come from north, east, and south. The Rocky Mountains block the wind from west. If the wind comes from the south (Gulf of Mexico) and suddenly changes the direction from the north, it would explain the extreme weather change.

In early 2014 I heard in news that even in Florida (I believe Miami included) snow fell.

I believe the weather is not that extreme in the west of the U.S. (California, Washington, Oregon). There are dryness and forest fires, but no changes about 20°C in a few minutes.

  11. What about the people, who live in Arizona or New Mexico? In the summer they have around 80 F at night. Or people, who live in the North and have to deal with extreme blizzards in the winter.

The U.S. have freak weather almost everywhere. Blizzards, hurricans, heatwaves, floodings and huge temperature differences are not unusual.

  12. Finally I have managed the True Arena in Kirby Triple Deluxe in my 20th attempt (guessed).

Oh man, this took me time and much patience! It was very VERY challenging! Especially the secret boss was annoying to fight. But the "almighty" hammer managed it, which I lost it against the final boss. So I had no copy ability, which was not too bad.

My time was 00:16:30. I think it's pretty good. My aim will be to beat it in under 00:15:00. I think parasol and leaf are very good abilities too to beat the True Arena fast.

  13. I don't care, if smoking of marihuana or hash is legalized as long they do not bother other people in the publicity (same opinion like in my thread about smoking of cigarettes). If they want to ruin their health, they should do. The consequences are similar, however cannabis will also change the conciousness.

However using cannabis as a medicine drug would be a good thing.
