  1. Bold: What exactly do you mean? Because I am not sure what you're talking about.

The only good fire you could have by that point is from Torchic, Torkoal/Numel/Slugma are slow as fuck, (and as I don't like Plusle/Minun/Electrike), so not picking Torchic really lowers the amount of pokemon who have a type advantage over her Skarmory

  2. did misty become easier in fire red because i didn't have any trouble

maybe it's because i chose bulbasaur

The toughest gym leader (or leaders in this case) for me by far are Tate and Liza in Emerald.

Screw that Claydol Xatu combination. The Earthquakes, the Calm Minds... everything about that was evil and awful.

I only owned Emerald, so I was actually really surprised in ORAS when they had their crappy space rock team.

Why would Misty become easier with Charmander?

Also who did you pick for Gen3 because Swampert's surf/waterfall is great for destroying most of their pokemon

While we're talking about Pokemon, I'd say Flannery, if you didn't pick Mudkip, since good Waters are virtually nonexistent at that point in the game (though the real problem is her Torkoal, which doesn't curl up and die even to Water attacks; also, in RSE, even if you did have Mudkip, chances are it's male, which means gender ratio fucks you over.). And then there's Lucian, especially in DP because of that goddamn Bronzong.

When I tried picking Treecko I found the flying gym a lot harder than the Flannery, mainly because you have the exact same thing with fire pokemon (I ended up using Castform)

  3. I still haven't played mgs4!!!

That's a good decision in my books. (Admittedly it's good for the first pt or so, especially act 4 and 5, but they're not nearly good enough to justify going through the first three acts again, and Drebin annoyed me no end.)

I haven't touched a MGS game since 4, does Zero feature in PW or GZ/PP, as I'm still annoyed at what the ending of 4 did to him.

  4. I just saw this
    http://www.nintendolife.com/news/2015/08/fire_emblem_fates_looks_set_to_be_a_single_release_in_the_west_according_to_amazon

Doesn't necessarily mean anything, they could still have the other site lock itself behind a paywall after choosing (I don't know if that's possible to do), but it would be nice if we do manage to get both campaigns.

Apologies if this was already mentioned, couldn't see it on the site/forums

  5. Surprised nobody mentioned the aorta boss in Xenoblade, don't want to spoil it with the new 3ds version, but until I got the right set up going (Melia/Shulk/Sharla) that was really tough, and the final boss was even harder

  6. Have you tried getting all the aeons on their overdrives and just going through them one at a time, failing that Yojimbo is at the bottom in the calmlands, just pay him gil and cheese it if you're finding it that tough.

  7. Hi new best friend!

Anyone who's looking at getting Star Fox Zero really should try out Uprising. It's very similar to Star Fox in many regards, from the gameplay to the midlevel banter (which is leagues better than Star Fox's imo).

Really? I know Smash isn't the most reliable source, but the special conversations they had there were plain awful, especially if you compare it to MGSs codec, this cherrypicked example from SF https://youtu.be/vJmYs5NB0PI?t=7m52s, or Xenoblade https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rGGf78H2fck

  8. Well, as a Metroid fan who was really hoping to see a new Metroid at E3, I'm pretty pissed.

It's been years since we've gotten a new Metroid, more years since we've gotten a good one, and after all this time, what do we get? Generic Robot Game with the Metroid label slapped on. We didn't want a spin-off to a bad game, and this doesn't even appear to have Samus in it. To call this "Metroid" when the series is in its current state feels like an insult to all Metroid fans.

The only benefit I can see here is that Metroid is not technically dead. But is it worth it? We'll have to see more about the game, but I am not optimistic. A petition to stop development is a pretty fucking stupid idea, though.

It's not too similar to D.K., during the GC between DK64 and DKCR all it had was crappy spin-offs (Konga, Jungle Beat and Jet Race), but eventually they went back to it. Plus there was this tweet from Retro that was never explained during E3

  9. I saw an article saying they may try to patch multiplayer in at a later date.

    http://nintendoeverything.com/star-fox-zero-talk-of-the-platinum-partnership-multiplayer-a-possibility-for-the-future-amiibo-more/

Also whilst I can't find a picture of it Katt Monroe is confirmed to be in this as well, I hope that means Bill Grey is back too, the Katina level in Assault just didn't feel right without him there.

My only hope is that they bring back the VA who did Wolf in Star Fox 64. The new guy from Assault/Brawl didn't project near the amount of smug cocky that I loved about Wolf in 64.

"Can't let you do that Star Fox!"

    "You're good, but I'm better!"

    *Chills*

This but for Andrew as well, I didn't like that he seemed to turn to helium to take the pain away from Andross's defeat

  10. Defense of Xu Province in Shu Hypothetical in Dynasty Warriors 8

mainly because you can't do this with Liu Bei, ever

Xu Province was chapter 3, not in the hypothetical, and do you mean getting his 5* weapon or defeating the retreating soldiers? Either way it's easier doing each one separately, but I don't remember it being that hard, are you really underlevelled for the difficulty setting?

  11. Any hope for online multiplayer?

Even if there was, Musou games generally don't handle co-op well, you end up with far less enemies on screen and enemies will just materialise due to the smaller draw distance, and that's only on local multi.

But Tetra and Huang Gai would be pretty near additions, hopefully Tetra won't suck like nearly all of the other projectile fighters in Musou games

  12. Ike has Soren for planning and strategies. :/

EDIT: Okay, so I DID have something else to say... xP

I can only remember any actual plans in 3-1, 3-3 and 3-4 (which failed because Skrimir was too much of a hothead), I guess you could also count chapter 6 in PoR but that's more Greil's plan than anything else.

Also as for the FS I think it will be like his standard b explosion but with a larger radius

  13. You're right about Roy's age, but he was able to lead his army through a war as a child, which I at least think is cool.

What I like about him is that he's one of the only lords to ever use actual strategies. Sigurd is just reacting to a series of fuck-ups, FE7 and Ike just charge in guns blazing. When Leif doesn't listen to Augustus or Dorias it ends disastrously. Roy actually plans things out, like getting Etrutia to help in the Battle of Ostia.

I wonder how many people are gonna say "Too many fire emblem characters in smash" again.

They already are, I guarantee it. That said I can sort of sympathise with them, even though I mained Roy in Melee and liked both him and FE6 I would have rather had Higgs, one of the hunters, or another Kong.

also this is meant to be Roy's FS trophy, the lack of source makes it extra reliable.

  14. aussies don't even like the beer. they think it's trashy like home and away

what he said, even Strayans don't drink that crap, they go for XXXX Gold. Hell even the Aldi-tier lager is better than Fosters.

    John Smith's beer
