  1. I think if this is a new subseries it's perfect for polishing up the older series for the post awakening crowd who feel put off by certain aspects of older FE games. (Art direction, UI, how the game flows, etc) as well as adding some features from new FE into the older games to breath some life into it weapon triangle for Gaiden, trading for Gaiden and Genealogy, Support system for 2, 4, and 5, touch up some map designs and story aspects, possibly an avatar who doesn't impact the story significantly or at all to meet a middle ground in the avatar camp, and add more overall bells and whistles. It's most likely a pipe dream, but a guy can dream ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

  2. Echo: a close parallel or repetition of an idea, feeling, style, or event.

The full name for the Gaiden remake is "Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia" which kinda sounds awkward when fully said aloud. The only other FE games to have gotten a sort of subtitle were the different versions of Fates, and that was obviously due to the different routes, but that at least shouldn't be the case here. So while it might be a bit of a reach, I believe that "Echoes" is the new line for remakes of the older games.

The obvious counter to this theory is that obviously FE11/12 weren't "Echoes: Shadow Dragon" and "Echoes: New Mystery of the Emblem", but I think it's rational to think that due to FE mostly being in a new era and much more popular, they'd put a bit more emphasis on their remakes with a "hey look at me, I'm different!" type naming scheme.

It's very simple thinking, but hey figured I'd at least get the theory out there.

  3. I'm with Jedi on this one, Chinese strategical warfare and "mashing a" don't really mash up that well. Yet Dynasty Warriors has demographic that it appeals to.

Same goes with Hyrule Warriors, Zelda had always been about exploration, dungeons, and puzzle solving, beating up a whole bunch of moblins or nameless mooks doesn't immediately come to mind when I think Zelda, but Hyrule Warriors was hella fun for those who are into the genre.

  4. Voted for Marvel vs Capcom styled fighter. A team fighter really suits a game series like Fire Emblem with such an expansive roster and units viable for such a fighter. Being able to have assists at any point or a possible pair up bonus with teams would be excellent implementation of in game mechanics from both the native series and the fighter style and it would give justification to putting in a cleric or priest as a playable character that you can have on your team.

  5. pk thunder uwaaaah

Ness really struggles in today's top level meta due to a plethora of reasons that Knife elaborated on. Overall I believe he's a character that can/will continue to thrive in mid to low level play however struggle with his obvious faults at high level play. When you know how to play around a Ness he REALLY struggles.

imo his best tools are as follow:

Nair - frame 5, great OoS option with pretty good knockback

Up air - Ridiculous in range (it has a disjoint) and a decent landing option while still being a nice killing option

    Fair - excellent spacing tool

DSmash - Nice edgeguard potential even with it's nerf from brawl.

PK Thunder - Good sharking tool that could also be used to gimp lesser recoveries with the tail.
