  1. Looking it up, it does seem to be highly acclaimed. However, it hasn't won any awards on PC yet.
  2. Tbh, I'm not fond of Garcia or Ross. They're both too slow for my tastes. Vanessa generally ends up worse than Tana, but she has much better availability.
  3. Vanessa and Moulder are both pretty useful. Oh, and as far as the Ephraim/Tana thing goes, Tana has a crush on Ephraim, but it's up to the player whether or not he hooks up with her. I usually pair them together myself.
  4. Sure. Growths are the chance a unit has of gaining a given stat upon leveling up. For example, Seth has a 90% HP growth, so whenever he levels up, his HP has a 90% chance of increasing by one. This site has a list of everyone's growths in Sacred Stones here: http://serenesforest.net/the-sacred-stones/characters/growth-rates/ P.S. Since you're a noob, you probably should have picked easy mode. It's exactly the same as Normal mode except it has tutorials specifically meant for newcomer such as yourself. You've only done the prologue so far, which is super short anyway, so it's not too late to start over on Easy.
  5. Seth is an amazing unit. He has good bases AND growths, and can solo the entire game with little trouble. Eirika starts off a bit weak but quickly becomes great. EDIT: And yes, that was a pretty decent level for Eirika, though you'll want her to start getting strength soon since her base is so low.
  6. That's actually a really good name. Would you consider this name for a future update, gringe?
  7. Looking it up, it appears it was actually HOTY 2014 that it won. Still, the (lack of) quality in some of the hacks that've won HOTY has made it hard to take seriously as an award.
  8. Well there's nothing wrong with borrowing elements from other characters, as long as the character has enough traits of their own to stand out as their own character instead of being a rip-off of another character.
  9. But "You dastard!" is iconic, and official localizations have always and continue to use the word dastard liberally, while recent (i.e. ones rated "T" or higher) releases will also use stronger words like bastard or damn as well, showing that dastard isn't some form of self censorship.
  10. I liked Ike myself. But I wouldn't want the next Lord to be a carbon copy of him. The next lord should be their own thing, not Ike 2.0. I'd definitely want them to be a powerful unit though, since if a unit's gonna be forced, they might as well be good.
  11. It depends. What is the character's role in the story, what kind of emotions do you want the character to elicit from the audience, etc. In the case of Seliph vs. Sigurd, I prefer Seliph because he takes a more proactive role in the story, as opposed to Sigurd who's more of a pinball protagonist that just gets dragged wherever the plot ends up taking him.
  12. I like how Pokemon GO's professor is literally named the same thing as this hack's. It's probably a coincidence, though. Also, didn't this win hack of the year 2015? I suppose I shouldn't be surprised, given what a giant hugbox Pokecommunity is. Granted, this hack doesn't seem too bad so far, but I'm sure it will get worse.
  13. Layla looks pretty good. Even that Def growth is not too shabby for a Mage.
  14. I actually like Seliph better than Sigurd. Seliph is a good character IMO.
  15. Assuming you haven't used statboosters, you Fir is actually slightly blessed. Anyway, given how Strength blessed your Rutger is, I'd keep using him, and if he ends up screwed, you can always replace him with the RNG proof Karel once you get him.
  16. Finally got caught up on this. Nice to see that Fado has his priorities straight (90% speed and 50% are pretty good growths for what are pretty much inarguably the most important stats), but he'll likely need some secret books to be anything resembling a reliable damage dealer. Since Ephraim's an axe user, the low strength isn't that big of a deal, but he'd likely need secret books to be useful. Had I been around for the poll, I would have voted for cheating with Nightmare, which as anyone who's read my GhebSaga LP can see, I'm not above doing myself. Granted, I've mainly just used it to buff underpowered characters so far, rather than get out of any difficult situations.
  17. Btw, I find the lack of "Arvis, you dastard!" disturbing.
  18. FE3(both books)'s story is decent, if cliche, though FE12 ruined it by adding in a self-insert Mary Sue, which is a shame because its added subplots had good potential. FE8-10 are also decent from what I remember, though FE10's could stand to have less contrivances.
  19. Give Marisa a reasonable level for her join time. Like, at least level 10. Obviously her stats should be adjusted accordingly as well.
  20. Honestly, Milady is a valid translation of her name, and while it's a dumb name, so is Miledy or Miredy or any other way you translate her name. It's not gringe's fault her name is dumb, it's IS's for giving her a bad name in the first place.
  21. Tbh, even Genealogy gen 1 is bad plot-wise. I think Integrity's LP does a good job showing just how bad Genealogy's plot is.
  22. I had someone on GameFAQs claiming Manfroy was a better villain than Validar because Manfroy at least had a "sympathetic backstory" due to the discrimination Loptyr cultists faced or whatever. I'd honestly argue he's worse than Validar, because at least Validar doesn't have nearly as much of a stranglehold on the plot as Manfroy does (he even ends up legitimately duped by Chrom and Robin and co. in Chapter 23), nor does he have OP teleportation powers that he only uses when it convenient for the narrative.
