  1. Jeorge, Caesar and Caeda. Honorable mentions go to Cain, Abel, Draug, Dolph, Wolf, Barst, Palla and Tiki. Most of my preferred characters are because of either my first playthrough of FE1 being an ironman run (I ended up using a lot of odd characters where I could) and also simply because I like their design or how good they are.
  2. Chrom has a higher Strength growth than Ike so he's undeniably "stronger"
  3. I mean, Effie can crush trees and she's super tiny, and around the same age as Elise. Anime strength is weird.
  4. It is sad when this few-second clip is likely meant to be "this week's info release". Does anyone else feel like this drought is on purpose? Like they're trying to hide something? They better be hiding something, or someone rather, that's worth hiding. inb4 a Dynasty Warriors movie ends up being a character drama with Shyamalan-level flat acting. :'(
  5. Geez, looks like there's no previews out on Famitsu yet. Guess it's yet another week without genuine information, hoping for a new trailer to crop up. I wonder why they're being so stingy with details this late into production? Marketing must be controlled entirely by Nintendo here, because Koei would be releasing a character a day if they were in charge. Hell, Dynasty Warriors 9 has more characters revealed for it than FEW does, and it doesn't even have a release date yet. Sanadamaru even had every new character, and every new gameplay function, detailed and documented weeks before the game released in Japan, not to mention DWGR releasing 4-5 mobile suit demonstations a week.
  6. Wolfskin are liars. They aren't even wolves, they look like abominable snowmen. If Keaton and Velouria transformed into actual wolves like Nailah and Volug, then they'd be cool, at least in my books.
  7. Not having Jeorge in the poll in a crime. I'd argue he has a lot more merit than Gordin to become playable. I do want to say, if they do FEW like most other Warriors collabs, it wouldn't be too far-fetched to say most of the Talys crew would get in as NPCs. Cain, Abel, Draug and Gordin being NPC while Marth, Caeda and Jagen get to be playable? I think that'd be neat. I voted for Jagen, Caeda, Tiki (duh), Camus, Minerva and Gharnef.
  8. Awakening has around 50 playable characters, give or take 1-2. I'm not saying I dislike the guy, but I do tend to leave Oifeys and Jeigans in the dust often, and archetypes play into my preferences quite a bit in FE, so he just falls to the wayside for me. Memes are unavoidable.
  9. I'd say that first part is more about the fact we know next to nothing about how Frederick plays, while we have a fair amount of Lissa footage already. It's hard to get interested in a character's moveset when we haven't really seen said moveset. Though for me personally, I'm a big Lissa fan and Frederick isn't in my top 30 Awakening characters, so I guess I'm biased the opposite way. By my calculations, his being flung around is going to be an epic Serenes meme for a little while. Prepare yourself.
  10. I hope we get some surprise gameplay straight from Koei Tecmo themselves with hidden things in it. That was honestly one of my favorite things about DWGR, combing over Famitsu articles and blurry gameplay footage, trying to pick out anything that wasn't formally revealed by then. Ah, such good times. Imagine, hypothetically, getting a minute long video, but for just a split second, in the distance, you could see a blue arrow hitting an enemy, almost like a laser. Just for a second. That's the kinda stuff I wanna see! Give me mysteries and single frame easter eggs!
  11. I also cannot watch right now, but I image the gappling would be kinda like Xu Huang, yeah? If I remember right, he could pick up enemies with certain attacks in DW8. I guess, since the horse is part of Fred's model, everything gets grappled at once. Not necessarily. Using DW8 as an example again, there were a couple axe fighters, but only Xu Huang had enemies stick to his axe. Dian Wei, Zhang Liao and Lu Bu were more about smashing enemies. It really depends on the individual's moveset.
  12. Chrom's Falchion was effective against Wyvern Knights as well, yeah? Since SD is included, I wouldn't put it past them to have Manakete as a special generic officer type, but I think the dragon symbol will be used to represent Wyverns as well. Will it be effective against Corrin too, I wonder.
  13. I think they already confirmed that these aspects would be integrated into combat already. I believe it was in the first Famitsu article.
  14. I'm going to say quite low, sadly. Mystery isn't the Marth-focus for this game.
  15. With the way the video just cuts so suddenly leads me to believe that it's simply a section of the support, rather than the full thing.
  16. From the way I look at it, Fates could easily have less characters than Awakening present in-game. Azura, Takumi, and Camilla is really all that's need to cover all the bases, even Leo would be pushing it, I think. With Hinoka, Sakura, Elise, and a couple of the retainers as NPCs? That'd probably be perfect. At this point, I'd actually be annoyed if half the game ended up being Fates characters. Compare to Awakening, who could get Cordelia, Gaius, Tharja, Gangrel or Walhart added. Awakening kinda has all of it's necessary "story" characters, so I'm assuming the rest of it's roster will be padded with fan-favorites, meanwhile Fates still needs a few more units to be considered "complete" if they want to do some sort of slight retelling of the early chapters, like Awakening seems to be doing. Shadow Dragon has this too, though SD has roughly the same amount of "important" story characters that Awakening does, but unlike Awakening, most of those characters are also the fan-favorites (Caeda, Tiki, etc.). I don't know where they're going with this. To make a good Talys recreation, assuming the game will give you 4 characters to have a full team right off the bat, you'd need Marth, Caeda, Jagen and Draug/Gordin, with Cain and Abel as NPCs, but if Rowen and Lianna will be on your team, or you get Awakening characters before that, then Marth/Caeda is more than enough. We just don't know how that'll work yet. I think we can at least expect to see the following characters revealed in the next few weeks: Takumi, Camilla, Azura, Cordelia, Caeda, Tiki My sentiments exactly. For all the talk about Weapon Triangle being implemented, having a majority of the game being one weapon type is a huge red flag. I'm still sticking by my 30-35 cast size. I don't see how they could feasibly make a big deal out of a Triangle system with any less.
  17. I hope so, male Corrin too. There's still a small part of me hoping they've implemented a Robin/Corrin editor with access to the original hair/face/size changes, and that's how you'll access the gender switching. MRobin and FCorrin would still be used for the story, but in the colliseum and free mode, you'd get you own version, or something. Considering the main character of FEW was originally going to be customizable, they could already have an idea of what this could perform like in-game? I don't know, just spitballing.
  18. That won't be it for Awakening. Realize that there's almost 2 months until the game releases in Japan, they wouldn't show off the entire roster for a section this early. There's also the part where the devs said the game rosters won't be evened out. Azura has a good chance, I think. She has a niche in being one of the rare Lance Infantry units, besides being a hyper important character. It'd be hard to have representation for Fates without including her in some form. I'd argue not having her would be more detrimental than not having Corrin, storywise.
  19. A Hyrule Warriors on Switch with playable Mipha and the other champions? Sign me the heck up! That might possibly be the next step if FEW is a success, because then Koei will know the Switch will have Musou support in it's community. That aside, I've been playing through both Shadow Dragon and FE1 again to try and familiarize myself with the story and characters, just to get a feel for what the devs could pull from for the Marth portion, and honestly? It could be a completely different affair depending on which they choose to base the Marth side off of. Like, the difference of Wing Spear Caeda or Sword-Wielding Caeda, Hauteclere Minerva or Levin Sword Minerva, Gordin with a crossbow or Gordin with a lame bow. I assume they'd be going with SD on these, but just imagining what could be? It's a fun time.
  20. And that's just the thing, isn't it. It seems like a lot of people would rather the game crash and burn, while having their favorite characters in, rather than realizing how much power the Awakening and Fates titles have in relation to marketing. Admittedly, they haven't handled the cast well up until now, and I'm certain no one would've complained (as much) if the game was just a collection of Lords from all games, swords be damned, but you can't fault them for taking this course, from a sales standpoint.
  21. To be fair, with Warriors games, seeing gameplay is nowhere near indicative of how good the game will play. When I first saw gameplay of SW4? I quite honestly though it was shit, but upon playing it, having the character's actions in my hands, it felt so good. It's the kind of series that you can't just watch, as all the cathartic feelings are trasferred through your own choices in the battle. Warriors games far too often get labelled as mindless, but I think it's the exact opposite. Playing these games while being mindless will get you Game Overs screens quick. I will say that while I'm annoyed that in recent Warriors titles (Berserk, Hyrule, SW4), getting 1000 kills is an expectation, where as older games make it feel like a true accomplishment, and FEW seems to be going off the new age of things, it seems like the enemy density plays into that a lot, and the KO count in FEW shows that the Switch isn't slacking on processing power, which can only mean it'll be a quality experience, at least as far as Warriors games go. I'm not meaning for this to change anyone's minds, but Warriors IS a series that generally isn't fun to watch, but is a blast to play, and I hope someone keeps that in mind when considering buying FEW.
