  1. Not for you, but those snipers on the final chapter of maniac mode use it well... Boon actually had a use in maniac mode.
  2. Alvis, he was the only one on the list still sane really... I like all those evil ugly guy ones actually, I always thought their character was cool, they are pure evil and they are not giving some BS excuse as to why (I am being controlled, I am just emo, etc...), people like Garnef (FE3), Manfroy (FE4), Reiv (FE8), Izuka (FE10). I also like the honorable enemies that have chosen a side and stick to it, even when they figure it's wrong, examples... Camus, Ishtar, Bryce, etc.
  3. I normally make a crap weapon that costs like 200G and see what I get... if it's good I reset and make my actual weapon. If not, move on and try again. Then again I don't forge very much anyway.
  4. The game has an HP cap slot, but it isn't used for anything since it's hard coded your unit's cannot exceed 60 and that enemies can go up to 80 regardless of their cap (120 in FE7/8). You will need to play with some ASM to change this.
  5. FE1, FE3 is the same accept he has +3% magic defense growth.
  6. While she doesn't have any "good stat", they are certainly decent enough coupled with the general class' overpowered abilities... I personally found Ross the worst since he didn't have anything really great accept his strength, HP, and luck (or at least every time I used him it seemed like that).
  7. 2 Points per round, round updates at 12:00 PM EST (9:00 PM PST for those who don't know). You can double hurt, but not double heal. Acceptable Hurt #1, Hurt #1 Hurt #1, Hurt #2 Hurt #1, Heal #2 Unacceptable Heal #1, Heal #1 Heal #1, Heal #2 Hurt #1, Heal #1 Each begins with 10 HP and the contestants are... 8. "...Well, well... So I'm the one...to die... But maybe...I was already dead... a long time...ago..." Sigune~ Fire Emblem Fuuin no Tsurugi "My name is Torabant you rebel wimps! Remember this as a gift from hell!" Torabant~ Fire Emblem Seisen no Keifu "This body, this heart, are constructs... yes, as is this sorrow" Limstella~ Fire Emblem Rekka no Ken Grats to Sigune for being one of the few unimportant bosses with a good line. 9. To clear this all up... Jeigan's Growths HP- 10% STR- 10% SKL- 10% SPD- 10% WPN- 0% LUK- 0% DEF- 0% MDF- 0% Jeigan's Bases HP- 20 STR- 7 SKL- 10 SPD- 8 WPN- 10 LUK- 1 DEF- 9 MDF- 0 The only reason he is "better" then your other units at first is because his silver lance makes him seem good. Just take it and give it to Sheeda, so the weapon doesn't go through the misery of being used by him.
  10. I never minded them. They didn't put in an "Animations off" option just for looks though.
  11. And playing skill, I don't think you get that from statistics, but then again what do I know <_< You can rely on averages to play the game, but this is unwise because your characters will not follow the averages. This is where skill, formed from personal experience comes in. Regardless, on-topic Roy ended up with 15-20 in every stat for me once, with about 35 HP.
  12. Once Ishtar killed Sety even though Sety had wind magic equipped, it must be a conspiracy
  13. I think you all overlook you can obtain another Luna tome.
  14. The Dragon King is easily killed in 1 turn... I take this from my FESS post Ashera I killed in 2 turns, I suppose with really careful planning she can be 1 turned, but I never tried it yet.
  15. I guess Ursula or Priscilla I just like those 2 more then the others. Were not including mage knights from the SNES games are we?
  16. Tashi Nino must be your best sage by far then... And you must love using Vika every playthrough since she has great growths for a Laguz.
  17. The strategy I used for my maniac runs was based on personal experience of ones on lesser difficulties, I merely used the characters who seemed like they would be useful on a harder run that would also work with MY strategy. Stat-wise Nino is the best sage, based on experience Erk and Pent are better. Then again what do I know, I have only beaten every Fire Emblem game on all modes countless times. Stats are fact, however that's about as fact as you will get, which unit is better then others is derived from play-style aka personal experience and as such is Opinion, you cannot make it "fact". There is no best unit of said class, popular favorite/best yes, but cold hard fact, no. Even if a unit beat another in EVERY thing there was to compete in... it does not mean it's better. There are countless cases where a weaker unit may work better, luring enemy attacks, not causing the "kill every enemy that comes getting hit each time I kill 1 until I die" thing, etc. Play FE5, and come back and tell me if you still believe personal experience means nothing. I can tell you right now, while numbers provide a solid base, it's the experience that builds you up. You use your experience to use the numbers to your advantage. If all you rely on is numbers... you will never beat things like FE5 or FE9 maniac etc.
  18. I meant I like Nolan better :P But Boyd is good when when I use him, I found the game is easy enough to use whoever you want, so it doesn't matter too much.
  19. Well your points are valid enough, with the exception of these 2... I don't know if you have checked enemy magic users speed, but it's pretty lousy. Assuming by some freak chance an enemy sage maxed speed (haha yeah right) it's 32, Nolan wouldn't double him then, but any less (what they have 100% of the time) and he can. Magic isn't really a useless stat when you take advantage of the bonus EXP system, it merely buffs his other growths (aka strength/HP/etc) since it will max so quick (as well as his resistance, skill and speed). And again you clearly leave out things such as play time/affinity/personal weapons/etc If your going to use numbers, then use all of them and not which ones favor yourself. Do so as such... Nolan has more playtime, so he can be worked more with for longer (I will give you Boyd doesn't have an unreasonable amount of playtime however). Boyd is capable of transfer bonuses Boyd has bonds Nolan has a free Nihil Boyd has higher HP growth Boyd has higher strength growth Nolan has higher magic growth Nolan has higher skill growth Nolan has higher speed growth Nolan has higher luck growth Boyd has higher defense growth Nolan has higher magic defense growth Nolan maxes more stats earlier and will put bonus experience to more use (although Boyd will max a few and get there before the end as well) Nolan has earth affinity, Boyd has fire (this is merely personal opinion, but earth>fire and I think most will agree with me here) Averages are moot when you are using bonus EXP and transfer bonuses. but if I must... Boyd has a higher HP average Boyd has a higher strength average Nolan has a higher magic average Nolan has a higher skill average Nolan has a higher speed average Nolan has a higher luck average Boyd has a higher defense average Nolan has a higher magic defense average To sum it up... Without bonus EXP, Nolan will have much better evasion and magical defenses, but will suffer from a 3 damage attack lose (6 when doubling) and an lose 2 extra HP when hit by physical weapons, not unreasonable in my case since he will have more survivability due to higher dodge rate. Averages aside, since they are moot on this game due to bonus EXP, BOTH will easily max ALL of their stats. In which case I would still pick Nolan since he's around longer, has a personal weapon, and has earth affinity and I have the JP FE9 so can't transfer. Oh and for the record their 20/20/20 averages are... Boyd HP- 68 STR- 40 MGC- 6 SKL- 35 SPD- 33 LUK- 25 DEF- 31 MDF- 15 Nolan HP- 64 STR- 37 MGC- 10 SKL- 36 SPD- 35 LUK- 30 DEF- 29 MDF- 20 It's a well known rule that you don't round up for averages, since they haven't reached the stat yet. While Nolan has a fairly high chance of reaching 38 strength, he hasn't, same goes for Boyd's skill and speed. Does Boyd suck? No Is Boyd good? Yes Is Boyd better then Nolan? Possibly, depends on your play style. I merely find Nolan better for stated reasons.
  20. Micaiah is always 20 for me on that chapter, so I just have the Dark Knight own everything for the comedy of it.
  21. (Watches as Nolan maxes things on a regular basis while Boyd doesn't) Nolan can just as easily max everything, he does it just about every play through, he's better for me. I don't think it's evil that I like someone who ends up better when I use them (and the question at hand is merely which I personally like better, not some number crunching debate). Nolan also has earth affinity and awareness which I prefer over Boyd's fire and no skills. As for how he maxes everything... Nolan will max magic and resistance easy which is a great help with bonus EXP leveling, and he will also likely max skill and speed and luck in tier 2. so you can get his strength defense and HP up easy with bonus EXP.
  22. Although my research is unmatched, they are better put to use dying on the front lines as they are not suitable specimens for it.
  23. That's actually why I joined FESS, since I don't like large sites otherwise ;) I don't mind some spam/sillyness on small sites, but I don't like big sites in general unless there is order kept. Although sadly FESS is losing it's luster since it's 80% Crazyness Domain now... and it's not so much FE anymore.
  24. I never found Laguz too great, especially in Maniac mode since they will use up their meter like crazy and the maniac mode enemies will own them untransformed. The only exceptions being the royals.
