  1. Call me crazy, but I could see mobiles new world, being later used for a potential FE15.

Mobile introduces new world and stuff, markets FE15 ultra early

FE15 gets announced and its the world mobile introduced

Mobile contains a bit of lore and backstory for what might happen in 15

    Profit.

Now it probably won't be, but man how cool would that actually be?

Hey, I have the exact same thought as well!

  2. As someone who loves battle animations, I tend to turn off dance/sing and staff animations. The more "beautiful" healing effects usually belong to AoE staves which only have on-map animations nowadays anyway.

  3. I am okay with how Fates handled reclassing (which is a major improvement from Awakening), however the skill system of the 3DS games still leaves much to be desired. There are simply too many unnecessary/trivial skills that feel like they exist for the sake of having a skill for each class (I'm not talking about the personal skills which I think is a nice touch). Imo each base class should only learn one skill, while promoted classes can learn two. Some special abilities (e.g Locktouch) don't even need to be a visible skill and can exist as command only (which would also encourage players to use the Thief class lines, similar to how Dancers can only dance in their base class, as opposed to everyone can open a chest as long as they have the skill).

  4. (I remember posting this in a similar thread some time ago, but here it goes again...)

My first FE game (also my first game in the SRPG genre) was Awakening, and most of the stupidities were due to not reading the tutorial and examining the interface carefully (I thought it was just like most other turn-based RPGs out there except with a grid map lol). Namely:

    - I overused Frederick up to endgame. Needless to say I had a very hard time defeating Grima with a bunch of squishy units even though I was on Normal-Casual and grinded a lot.

    - I didn't understand the concept of effective weaponry (which was extremely stupid considering it was clearly stated in the weapon description and even had an icon to indicate that), therefore I didn't use any to make my life easier, and my fliers were always exposed to bows and wind magics and ended up dead. As I said I was playing on Casual so I didn't care that much lol.

    - At first I didn't even know about weapon ranks lol (I didn't realize what the A, B, C, D, E meant). I was wondering why a certain unit could not use a certain weapon even though their class clearly allows them to.

    - I thought Ricken was the more powerful mage than Miriel just because he came with a more powerful tome than her. So yes, I judged a unit basing on their starting inventory and not their actual stats (I never paid much attention to character stats when I played regular turn-based RPGs). It didn't help that I didn't understand about effective weaponry so when I saw that he dealt massive damage against the Wyvern Knights with Elwind I thought that he was that powerful in general lolololololol.

    - I benched Robin, the most broken first-gen unit in the entire game! To me an extra chance to get a game over is no-no.

    - I didn't use any of the children.

    - I thought skills weren't significant, I was so wrong lol.

    - I thought Olivia were useless and benched her after a few chapters because she was really weak and squishy which was actually irrelevant since she's not supposed to be in enemy range (while I did realize the importance of being able to move again, I didn't know how to position her properly so that she wouldn't get killed so I didn't even bother).

    - Speaking of which, I didn't even know how to turn on enemy range lol.

    - I promoted everyone at Lv. 10 and didn't bother using second seals (I didn't know about the infinite level ups in this game, so when my character capped at Lv. 20 I just... let them be).

  5. Ah, he's reaching the dreaded Conquest trio of chapters.

Chapters 19, 20 and 21. These chapters are what separate men from the boys.

Joking aside, it's kinda like Chapter 10, as it is another difficulty spike.

I personally think this is only true in higher difficulties, in Normal they aren't much of a spike compared to other chapters.

That's funny because, while I am only playing on normal, 19 was easy peasy! Then again, it would've been more challenging if more enemies had that skill that deals bonus damage to beast wielding units.

That would be Lunatic, and trust me, it's not fun... :D: It can still be cheesed through by the method eggclipse mentioned though, among other things:

Chapter 19 can be cheesed on Hard by using a Wyvern Lord with a Beastkiller. Use an Arms Scroll if necessary.

  6. According to the article, the DLC tracks (or some of them at least) will come in the DVD for some reason. There's a detailed track list if you scroll down, though I don't remember their Japanese names to tell which is which.

Also, there seem to be the My Castle version of the tracks as well, which is what I've always wanted! *_*

  7. No.

Kamui in themselves is a bad character and a bad avatar, but that is something I can overlook if I couldn't care less about the protagonist.

But when the excessive player worship and mechanics like FE Amie are also detrimental to other characters' characterization (especially my favorite ones or those who otherwise have a lot of potentials in the narrative), it has crossed my final line and became something much more personal.

On the plus side, Kamui is a powerful unit gameplay-wise, as with most FE lords.
