  1. I nickname team members and some randos. In Nuzlockes I nickname everything nicely enough, but any wilds that give me trouble/kill my mons I give insulting names.

Jesus man, that's some serious petshaming. Just give it a lame name like Kyle or something.

"Alright, it's time for my ace in the hole...Go IHopeYouDie!"

I make it a point to nickname everything I catch. I usually try my best to give it a cool name. If I can't manage one I'll just give them a silly name, like Big Cheesy.

  2. Thanks Rein, I look forward to the pm. I'm thinking I'll do a scout type unit (mobile, good at dodging, could see through fog of war (if it's going to be used), etc.). Would that be good, or is there some specific role you'd rather have me fill? I'd rather have a physical character, but I'm not too bothered if the group needs a mage.

  3. God, I love the Cutiefly line.

The Jangmo-o line is pretty good too. Kommo-o is a little overdesigned, but the transition to 3D helped with that a lot.

Silvally has grown on me, and I find its dex description interesting. It's noted that it returns to a wild nature without its helmet, and it's able to smash it at a whim. Yet it will only ever smash its helmet if has a trainer that it trusts That makes me think that it actually knows that hard to control and possibly violent, but without the helmet it's significantly weaker. Looking at it with that in mind, it's trusting the trainer to be able to keep it under control. That's something I find very interesting. Also Silvally grows an extra foot after losing the helmet, and loses 40 pounds. That's pretty darn impressive.

So far my team is: Dartrix, Kommo-o, Silvally, Ribombee, Mimikkyu, and Lycanroc.

  4. You mean there are people who don't believe in it?

Basically this. Everybody I know is definitely on board with the theory. Even if I don't buy all of the mythology stuff, alchemy has basically become undeniable. Thinking on it, I wonder if that might be the motivation of team Aether. Considering Lycanroc's description says that the different forms are due to the legendaries maybe Aether is trying to summon the legendaries to study them. Probably doing some alchemy stuff to make the summoning work, or maybe just flat out using alchemy to study the effects.

  5. At least it would be able to do SOMETHING with it's life.

    . 250px-Rowlet.png

Look at that face. That is the face of somebody who was just happy to be invited. Nosepass would demand to be nothing less than a nose. Rowlet would be an elbow, a cup, a harness, you name it. Look at that face, is that the face of a man to say no?

*Ahem* Err...more on topic I've heard a theory that the Sun exclusives are all supposed to be bestial while Moon's are humanoid. Personally I think it's a little flimsy at the moment, but I can kind of see where they're coming from. What do you guys think?

  6. UB-02 Expansion...very obviously masculine...red and black color scheme...plus Beauty looking like Lusamine...Is that Gladion? It'd keep up with the theory they're related, and explain why he's having such trouble in his human form. It doesn't look half as much like Gladion as the others, possibly causing some issues between the two forms.

I'm surprised by Rockruff. I like the day evolution better.

  7. The thing is many religions share certain things, so it's easy to get caught up in possible references in one, which leads to another.

Plus, like I already said, Pokemon isn't just based on one religion, it has so many inspirations. That's why there's so many different topics to cover.

Just look at the XY legendaries. They fit into Norse and Hinduism, like he said, plus Zygarde is going to have to fit in with Solgaleo and Lunaala. Not much in Pokemon is based on just one thing, they have so many possible inspirations.

Fair enough. However it still doesn't sit right with me that he had to use five+ religions to glue his theory together. If he wants his theory to seem more credible he should've kept it as simple as possible.

  8. He does stick with 3 main ones, and just adds in some extra with other religions and meanings etc. I do think he should've just stuck with the main 3 he said were the main 3, being Norse, Greek and Hawaiian(?).

Anyways, Pokemon has always gotten their inspiration from many sources at once, so it's not a big surprise to have people running to multiple places at once trying to find a reason.

That's the issue though Norse, Greek, and Hawaiian are plenty of inspiration. There must thousands of legends, tales, and myths between the three of them. Then, on top of all that you add alchemy? After all that you stir in some occultism, Hinduism, Abrahamic beliefs, and you've got a right mess of a theory.

I'm not saying that there isn't some truth to what he's saying, I'm now convinced Marshadow will be a partially bug type scorpion due to the chimerism theory. It just seemed like he was stretching to make a lot of that work.
