  1. In my opinion, 1. Actual support convo's 2. Largo playable (he could have joined you as a level 1 Reaver or something fairly easily) 3. Give Boyd more str and spd (I can understand why they would be low, but it makes little sense why he would have 22 str at lvl 7..... This is less of a favoritism reason but more of a it would make more sense based on his class reason) 4. BK Playable on 4-3. 5. Have Zelgius/BK join you after 4-2 during second play through or something along the lines that would make him hard to recruit (Like Lehran). It just seems like a waste to only use Zelgius's battle theme and sprite at two points in the game. Also, with his base stats and level, I think he could still be a fairly balanced character and wouldn't break the game too much or something. 6. Have Muarim, Vika, and Tormod join you earlier. 7. Not have to bring Sothe into the final chapter. He's just a waste of space who exists to be replaced by Nasir or Gareth (In my opinion, someone else may say that he has some kind of use for the Endgame) 8. Let Ike use Axe's as a Hero. Ike is most likely never going to use Axe's as a Vanguard since you have the Ragnell. Yeah.....
  2. I don't see why people are complaining about grinding for this game. Just play the game on easy mode. All easy mode does is double the amount of exp you receive and allow you unlimited item transfers, so you can play the game with the same difficulty without having to grind.
  3. So where exactly does the tier list tier list fit into this tier list? And what of the tier list tier list tier list?
  4. Bad-ish News. I'm probably not going to have any updates worth mentioning for quite a while. I'm still going to be working on the hack, it's just that there won't be updates. Any updates I make will be small comments like "Oh I just finished the events for chp 1!" Ya know, things like that. The following is being done so as to help me get feed back on how the difficulty of the game will work out. As such, I present to you the base stats of ALL the characters that will be playable in the DEMO. The demo includes the prologue, chp 1, and chp 2. *= Stat is capped Prologue: Orion Class: Sword Bandit lvl. 1 / Hp: 16 / Str: 5 / Skl: 5 / Spd: 6 / Def: 5 / Res: 0 / Luk: 5 Broken Class: Swordmaster lvl. 1 / Hp: 44 / Str: 22 / Skl: 22 / Spd: 22 / Def:22* / Res: 22 / Luk: 25 Dangelo Class: Beserker lvl. 10 / Hp: 50 / Str: 27 / Skl: 6 / Spd: 8 / Def: 22 / Res: 10 / Luk: 0 Joseph Class: Bandit lvl. 6 / Hp: 35 / Str: 10 / Skl: 5 / Spd: 7 / Def: 8 / Res: 1 / Luk: 8 Orek Class: Mercenary lvl. 2 / Hp: 20 / Str: 6 / Skl: 10 / Spd: 10 / Def: 6 / Res: 0 / Luk: 5 Yorek Class: Fighter lvl. 2 / Hp: 22 / Str: 7 / Skl: 4 / Spd: 6 / Def: 4 / Res: 1 / Luk: 8 Chapter 1 Lily Class: Thief lvl. 1 / Hp: 15 / Str: 2 / Skl: 3 / Spd: 10 / Def: 2 / Res: 2 / Luk: 8 Chapter 2 Dawn Class: Dancer lvl. 1 / Hp: 14 / Str: 1 / Skl: 2 / Spd: 7 / Def: 3 / Res: 5 / Luk: 10 EDIT: Chapter 2 map It's nice to finally have a small map. EDIT V2: Chapter 1 code is working just fine. There is only one problem though, and that is nothing but a very large aesthetic problem that seems to cause no big problems, so until I learn of a good way to fix it, I'm going to leave it as is. EDIT V3: There is now one less playable Nomad Trooper. The character I removed was originally going to be a mandatory death character anyway. Currently working on: Battle sprites for the demon classes. They aren't custom, but taken from another game :( I still like them though, so hopefully everyone else will like them too. EDIT V4: Took a while to get it to work due to problems I had making the palettes work properly, but the 1st of my "custom animations" has been finished. With it being finished, I am almost ready to start working on the demo. I just need to format the mugs, edit the text, and do the chapter 2 events. Then I will release the Demo.
  5. Update! Four more Characters: From top to bottom they are: Lily Troy: Son of Lieaster. An Archer with Minor Ulir blood. Fled Verdane at his father's orders after Dangelo raped and killed his mother and started his attack on Verdane castle. Olson: A member of the holy guard; a master knight. Tasked with protecting Dawn along with the Gruenen Ritter. A Descendant of Oifaye. Note: At the time that I posted this Image I had not realized that Olson's mug was incomplete (need to fix his palette up a bit) A more complete version will be revealed later. Dawn: A dancer with an obvious air of royalty about her. Dangelo is after her for her beauty, but Orion seems to want to protect her...... (Note: Yes, she IS MEANT TO LOOK LIKE NINIAN. When I was thinking of her character design, Ninian fit it perfectly, so that is why I am using her mug. It is not because I am lazy, but because I want her character to look like this. A few other characters that appear in the game will be like this too, but not a lot of them. Just a small amount) Hacking Process Notes: I have finally started to actually hack into the game. I'm currently writing the prologue script and I'm hoping I come across no problems. About half of the animations I plan to have in the game have been test inserted, and are ready for insertion. EDIT: Good News! The Prologue events are working just fine for the most part. Just a few tweaks need to be made for them to be perfected! Also, here is my final verdict on the demo. It will go up to chapter 2 and will give the player an idea about how exactly the mandatory death system and Temp character system work. It will be released as soon as I finish up to that point.
  6. They say it's pretty gay, and then say that Marth is a pussy/Woman (except for one of my friends) and talk about how sexy Ike is or something like that.
  7. As of this moment I have no more mugs I would like help making (Sasuun is working on them). When some come up, I'll say what they need to be should anyone want to work on them. Also, Chapter 1 map! .....What? It's just the god damn prolouge map again. Well, here's the reason as to why. The prologue involves the Zolde bandits taking over Verdane. The 1st chapter involves them defending what they just took over..... Or does it?
  8. When you said level of str, to me it made it sound like there was a somewhat large gap. Stefan is stronger, but I don't think it's really by to much to say there is a huge gap in str.
  9. Doesn't Stefan also make a good candidate for supporting Volke? Heaven support + Baselard + Gamble can make for a very good combo, especially on the dragon chapter (4-E-3). And I wouldn't say that Zihark doesn't reach the same level of str as Stefan. And this may just be a personal experience thing, but when I played hard mode, I didn't have to many units at around the level Stefan was, so I brought him (though he also had a data transfer bonus for str spd and skl, so.....). I also brought Oliver and Bastian too.....
  10. Personally, I think that Palla makes a good Cleric -> Sniper since she'd have good res and still get decent str. Nice skl too.
  11. Do you have a link to his post? I have a feeling they're talking about this, which was debunked several months ago. Here's the link. It's the last post on the first page and it continues onto the second page of the topic. He even says in the post that the rumor is likely not to be true. Also, the Blademaster asking him about where he heard the rumor is me. He didn't have a specific link, but said you should possibly be able to read the article online. He might be right in saying it was just a rumor, but given the news about FE2 just being announced it may have been true. Though it may be just like you said. None the less, he still may have been right so.....
  12. Well it wasn't a new game per say, but it was just that some Fire Emblem news was going to be announced. On FEU, a member named Erksage said that the magazine Nintendo Dream reported that there was a rumor going around that there may be some Fire Emblem news announced soon (he said it reported it would happen next month, which would be november since he reported this in october). The magazine reported the rumor, so it's still a rumor, but one reported in a magazine. He also said that it may not be true, but given that FE2 was announced on the virtual console, if it was true, then it may have been refering to this.
  13. I heard that there was a rumor going around about a fire emblem game announcement happening soon, and I guess this was it. It'd be nice to try playing gaiden on the VC. It'd be a lot of fun. Too bad I don't own a Japanese Wii......
  14. What's keeping my determination going right now is too things: One, I want to make a good and interesting hack. Two, I want to get some kind of coding practice, by which making chapter events fulfills. Thanks for the offer. I can't really ask for to much help with the sprites since I don't want to reveal the entire character roster, but if you have any sprites that you already made that you were thinking of, feel free to PM me them or post them in this topic. If you do post them in the topic though, just put a note at the top saying that the following mugs are unofficial and should in no way be considered actually part of the hack until Blademaster! says otherwise. Obviously I would give you credit for any mugs you are thinking of contributing, and at the very least I would put one of the mugs you made and wanted put into the hack actually put into the hack, but I can't guarantee they would be a playable character. So at the very least they would be a boss. But yeah, if anyone wants to contribute a mug to the hack feel free to do so, just remember there are no guarantee's (they will likely become a boss at the least until there is no more room or something). Also, please don't kill yourself over making a character for the hack. And if you do make a mug and want to post it in the topic just put the following note at the top: the following mugs are unofficial and should in no way be considered actually part of the hack until Blademaster! says otherwise Thank you everyone so far for your support! I greatly appreciate it and I hope I won't let you down! Edit: Oh and one last thing. If there was anything about the GBA games game mechanics that you though were to broken, I will do my best to fix them. This means things like less of a certain item, or just make said item not exist (the exception is anything involving the hammerne staff, as it is the holy weapon [Valkyrie staff] with unlimited uses since there are no shops in the future part of the game). I can't fix things like true hit and stuff though......
  15. If she isn't killing in the first or second hit, then ambush is pointless since even without ambush she gets the same number of rounds of attack anyway.
  16. I said LexFee, not ArdenFee. Meaning she gets str, def, and Elite out of the deal as well. That's why I considered LexFee, not ambush. I'm just trying to say that ambush isn't helping her, so when judging her as a unit it comes down to it being that she has good str and def along with elite. I just don't think the pairing is good enough to warrant being listed. I have some reasons as to why, but at the moment I don't have the time to explain.
  17. I'm sorry for posting so many times in a row. First off, one new game play mechanic: Supports Unless something goes wrong, supports will work like the bond supports found in FE 3 and FE 5. That means supports will be either one way or two ways supports. So character A may support character B, but character B may not support character A. Support conversations will only occur when you obtain a new character that has a bond support with a character you already have. This way, it makes it less obvious if a character is recruit-able. Additionally, like in FE10, some of your playable characters may support enemies, or be supported by them. In addition to being a fun feature, this also helps add confusion as to whether or not certain characters are recruit able. Support bonuses will be the same for all playable characters, unless they receive a bonus from an enemy. Playable support bonuses add +5 to hit, avoid, crit and crit avo. So if characters are capable of having an A support with each other, the support bonus turns out at +15 hit, avoid, crit and crit avo. If a character has used all 5 of their support options, then the bonus is +25 hit and avo, crit and crit avo. This is represented by the Light Affinity. Enemy support bonuses are much stronger, since they only exist for a limited amount of time (like a chapter). For every level of support a playable character receives from an enemy, they gain +20 hit, +15 avo, +30 crit, and +5 str, def, and crit avo. This bonus only exists between enemies and playable characters, and only playable characters receive this cheap bonus. Enemies receive the playable character bonus. This is represented by the Ice Affinity. Enemy to enemy bonuses are a bit different than the previous two. The bonus given for these types of supports are +50 hit and +30 crit avo. Yeah...... This is represented by the Thunder Affinity. Henshin also has his own one way support bonus unique to him. He always gives an A rank support bonus to his demonic allies for a total of +45 hit and avo, +30 crit avo, +15 crit and str, and +3 def. He is meant to be a worse version of Cyas after all...... This is represented by the Fire Affinity (As a homage to Cyas) Demon hound bonus. The other three members of the demon hounds all give a support bonus to each other. It is a B rank bonus for all three of them, and a C rank bonus for Henshin. The bonus is +10 hit, avo, crit, and crit evo for every lvl of support. This is represented as the Wind Affinity. ????? bonus. Depending on certain events the player makes in the game, someone will receive a one way A ranked support bonus from ?????. This bonus totals to +30 hit and crit, along with +45 crit avo. This is represented by the Anima Affinity. The Omega bonus. I will not say how this bonus works exactly and I will only be listing the bonus given for calculation purposes. The bonus is +25 hit, +30 crit avo, and +10 crit and avo. This is represented by the Dark Affinity. Support bonuses are subject to change. Also, New character and mugs. From top to bottom, they are Orek, Yorek, and Lieaster. Lieaster is the boss of the prologue, Leader of the Bandguard, and King of Verdane. He is a Sniper who is the descendant of Lester and Daisy, and also Jamuka and Aideen. As such, he has minor Ulir Blood. He is a recurring character, but is only the boss of the prologue (he appears as a boss on other chapters, but is never the main boss again). He has a son named Troy. I have yet to decide on this as of yet or not, but I will soon release a demo that will either just be the prologue, or it will be the prologue and chapter 1.
  18. This and this. Based on the argument given there, instead of promoting Pelleas at lvl 16 on 4-5, wouldn't it be better to just him him paragon? The enemies on 4-5 gives loads of exp, and with paragon, he gets even more. I can't imagine it would take him that long to promote using this method, in addition to the fact that he would still be gaining even more exp once he promotes, especially using staffs like Physics. I'm only saying this because I would imagine this > than using a crown, given that if we are even going to bother doing this, we would most definitely be bringing Pelleas into the final chapter. I don't think this would really change anything, but I'm just saying..... Also, out of curiosity, based on how this list would function, is there a specific set of units we are assumed to be bringing into the final or no?
  19. About Fee!Lex, ambush isn't really helping her to much, even if she has the hero lance. If an enemy attacks her, she likely isn't going to be killing anything in the first two hits before the enemy gets the chance to attack. If she has the power ring, it changes things a bit, but once you get to probably chapter 8, maybe chapter 9, it stops being all that effective.
  20. Hmm..... It looks like I may have been wrong about the Norma thing. It says on FE museum (which is an official website I would imagine, as it is part of the Japanese Nintendo website.) that he is recruit-able in chapter three but I couldn't figure out how to do so. Given how hidden his recruitment is in general anyway, there must be some method to recruiting him during the chapter. Though that website could be wrong, which would be wierd. Based from what I can see from FE Museum though, I'd imagine you'd have to do Alm's part first, then Cellica's, as the characters on the chapter 3 page appear in order of recruitment based on that order, like in all their other sections.
  21. I'm playing easy mode in gaiden right now, so I'm sure if I rush a bit I can get a picture. I'm pretty sure that on FE museum, if you look at the character section for FE2, it says he is recruit-able in chapter 3, just like how it says Maisen is recruited in chapter 4, even though you can only use him during chapter 5.
  22. I noticed an error in the Fire Emblem Gaiden section. In the Fire Emblem Gaiden recruitment sectionhttp://www.serenesforest.net/fe2/recruitment.html, it says that Norma is recruited in chapter 4. Norma can in fact be recruited in chapter 3, but only at the very end of the chapter after all the missions in chapter 3 have been completed. So if you do recruit him in chapter 3, he can only fight in side battles and such. He can still be recruited in Chapter 4, its just that it is possible to recruit him in chapter 3.
  23. I finally managed to finish the character draft. I'm not going to list every character, but I finished deciding on how many characters there are going to be and how many characters of each class you get. But first, another new game play aspect (sorta) Temp characters: Temp characters are NPC's who join you and aide you on maps for a set period of time. If they die, they will still appear in the next chapter, unless the chapter they die in was the last chapter they are set to appear in as a Temp character. Class list. This is a list of the total number of characters per class you have. For example. If I say you have 5 Generals, that means that 5 out of how many characters can potentially become generals. They are listed from highest to lowest and include mandatory death characters. Temp characters are not included. Special (Lord classes, Dancers, etc.) - 8 Paladin - 4 Hero - 4 Sword Master - 3 Nomad Trooper - 3 Berserker - 3 FalcoKnight - 3 (can triangle attack) Future Soldier - 3 General - 2 Sniper - 2 Warrior - 2 Thief Fighter - 2 Bishop - 2 Male Sage - 2 (use light anima and staves) Female Sage - 2 (Use dark anima and staves) Valkyrie - 2 Mage Knight - 2 Draco Master - 2 Ranger - 1 Assassin - 1 Druid - 1 Great Knight - 1 Scientist - 1 There are 50 total playable characters, so this should give you an idea about how many Mandatory death characters there are. Oh, and one last thing: Secret Characters: These are characters who can join you, but have no hints given about how they can be recruited (like Tauroneo in FE9 hint hint) or are recruited in a similar way to Stefan (hint hint) Of the 50 playable characters, there are a total of 10 secret characters. And both the Holesety and Balmunk users are secret characters. They are the only secret holy weapon users though. Secret characters generally have very good bases and growths and come equipped with only the best equipment. You may not use them for long or at all, but they are worth trying to get. Nine of them are recruit-able in the past, while only one of the 10 is recruit-able in the future. Playing FE5 can help knowing how to recruit these guys sometimes. Edit: The map for the prologue. Hopefully it looks familiar.........
  24. Fix'd, unless that's how it is in RD. And you really don't like Pegasus/Falco Knights. Name one game other than FE7 where you get even ONE character in a Wyvern Knight-like class, promoted or not, that is considered at LEAST good. FE1: Sheeda FE2: Clea/Katua/Palla FE3: Katua/Palla FE4: Altenna FE5: Dean FE6: Miledy FE7: The sole exception FE8: Cormag/Vanessa FE9: Jill FE10: Haar Sure, you could argue that some Peg Knight-related characters can match them... barely. Not a single Pegasus flier character in their same game can match them. Oh, and you can't always say the same for Pegasus Family Knights. There's TECHNICALLY Palla, Catria, and Sheeda. Then there is Marcia, Tanith, and Florina... then that is about it. Maybe Fee, but that is only with Noish. The Pegasus Knights not mentioned, when compared to their respective flying dragon brethren, fail. Not to say they don't have uses, they're just bad when compared to Dragon Knights. Dragon/Wyvern Knights do not exist in FE2. Clea, Palla, Katua, and Est all class change into Falcon Knights. As for what I would want in a new FE game, FE10 enemy difficulty (enemy stats stay strong throughout the entire game) More intelligent, non predictable AI Halberdiers Support Conversations No super broken characters More characters per class Good story Magic that isn't all shared in the same weapon level (Like FE4 5 6 7 8 9 and 10) More dark magic users Personally, I don't really care what the next game is, it's just that the above would make it better. I just want a new game to be announced or something already.
