  1. I wouldn't call "Figure out the killer early, burn the evidence, then have the game fast forward to Adachi skipping town and mocking you" an alignment choice. It's kind of like the ending to the original Dragon Quest where you agree with the Dragonlord and then the screen turns red and he mocks you. Actually it's exactly like that.
  2. Anyone else notice that the younger characters are the one with the opposite gendered Mirages? Ele is a first year, while Mamori is a middle schooler
  3. I wish we had a bigger picture. Barry looks to be a pretty typical otaku character and has the America anime face (dirty blond hair, big nose) and I think I see him in a dog costume for some reason. Crap, Zeroed edit: Found it slightly larger
  4. I've had my analysis of Itsuki for a while on tvtropes: Chrom's promoted armor, Sigurd's Cravat, Marth's manga shoulder fringe, Robin's association with lightning, and Kris's "stay in the background" personality.
  5. I agree more with the Shaman King comparison, it's "Certain people can see spirits" is closer then Fate's "Kill all witnesses"
  6. And Tharja, Virion, and Draug confirmed as cast's mirages.
  7. Actually, I first heard about this game on Super Bunnyhop's channel from his second "Games From My Inbox" special. He recc'd it pretty hard.
  8. The official page of Genei Ibun Roku ♯FE, or what we’re calling Shin Megami Tensei X Fire Emblem until it gets an official English title, has a new blog post featuring the game’s BGM composer Yoshiaki Fujisawa, who talks about his involvement in the upcoming RPG. Yoshiaki Fujisawa has worked on plenty of music arrangements in the past, including arrangements for talents such as Kenichi “Hyadain” Maeyamada, music for some anime such as Nichijou, and more recently Love Live and GATE. For Shin Megami Tensei X Fire Emblem he’s working for Avex Group, known for having produced many of Japan’s famous pop singers such as Ayumi Hamasaki. Fujisawa says that his work with Shin Megami Tensei X Fire Emblem all started back with a single phone call in late-fall of 2013. “Fujisawa-san, are you busy?” It was from Avex’s Aburai [George Aburai] who shot the proposal, and from there, it was decided that he’d join the staff in the development of a new game, which would end up being Shin Megami Tensei X Fire Emblem. From there, he met up with the developers and sound team, learned more about the game, and was a bit nervous, considering that he’s more familiar with working on music for anime an TV shows. The first thing he felt was “it was very difficult!” Fujisawa explains that he struggled a lot in the completely different mindset that is required for making video game music, as he’s more familiar with how things are done for TV shows. Everything from the timing, flow, and feelings of a song, were all different from the way he usually works on music; however, the sound team from Atlus gave him all kinds of advice that came in handy for his work. Fujisawa notes that working with the team in an incredibly creative environment, where ideas shapes themselves up, was really fun. He recalls how excited he felt when they first checked out a demonstration of one of his songs, although he says that he was always nervous whenever it came to presenting the songs, nonetheless. Since “entertainment” is a big theme of Shin Megami Tensei X Fire Emblem, Fujisawa explains that the game is full of songs that bring out the feelings of the stages and floors, and plenty of groovy tracks. “Especially for the battles—I just can’t help but want to dance [to the music] while fighting!” exclaims Fujisawa, as he explains that all the field and event scene tracks have been made with a variety of tracks that have been made through the challenges of ideas provided from the team. “Oh, and everything about this title is overwhelmingly great, if I do say so myself.” Fujisawa ended the blog post with a look at the above image. It’s actually a character that appears in the game, and it was modeled after the composer’s actual looks. Shin Megami Tensei X Fire Emblem will release in Japan on December 26, 2015 for Wii U. source
  9. A series of psychics get wrapped up in ancient cult rituals with only a ghost exorcising camera to keep them from horrible death. They often die horribly. That being said, it's currently owned mostly by Nintendo and has done crossovers before (most recently with Dead or Alive, of all things)
  10. She's also only one character. And the only game where she has more then a handful of text blurbs was not very well liked, so pulling characters from that game would be unwise. You could probably get away with Link and Zelda if you had a character like Proxi, but I doubt they'd do it. They're already putting in one medieval swordsman plus princess combo. Pokemon Trainer plus Rival would be different from any other character and Fatal Frame protag could work as a solo character using the Camera Obscura. You know, I just remembered Atlus is owned by Sega, so they could do SMT or Persona characters. Flynn and Isabeau would make good units, and fit the character archetypes.
  11. I think the issue is that neither franchise could supply three sufficiently rounded characters because of Nintendo's tendency to lean towards mute protagonists.
  12. Until there is a universal repository for video games, we're gonna see this. For a lot of the examples, piracy is pretty much the only thing keeping them ticking. Although I seldom to never play roms, my rules (and I think the general rules) for such work are pretty simple: If you can get a hold of the game from a legitimate source like the eShop or PSN, don't emulate. If you can acquire a copy of the game without breaking your budget, especially if you do not have a working system, do that and then emulate. And if neither a (good) port or the source material exists anymore, feel free to emulate away. The issue with piracy is more about the developer not getting their deserved cut then anything else. Just make sure that the poor codemonkeys get payed, and your conscience is clear.
  13. Alex Kidd shows up... as an assist character to an assist character. My bets for Nintendo reps are on Shulk, Pokemon trainer, a lead from one of the later Fatal Frames (which is co-owned by Tecmo), or Kid Icarus
  14. Ann's persona being Carmen may give a little context to that Oni looking creature which apparently had Ann trapped in a wine glass (PV#3 2:06), as well as that sequence from the PV where the unknown person was reaching out to Ann before being stopped by Phantom and Ryuji, and that line “You are not human. You are nothing but a pathetic demon possessed by the the desire for relationships.”. Opera!Carmen (Not to be confused with the real person, who pretty much was only similar in how she died) was a smuggler who led on two men before getting bored with them. One of her suitors, a bullfighter, goes crazy and kills her. Taken in context, one could assume that Ann is (at least perceived as) flirty as well. That oni looking figure apparently has an attack where he strikes with a volleyball. So perhaps the group's first(?) target is the captain of the volleyball team, who is similarly jealous about Ann (maybe due to her growing connection with Phantom?). As a result, due to whatever occult forces surround the school, said athlete becomes a demon and kidnaps Ann. Then Protag, Morgana, and Ryuji have to rescue her and "steal his corrupt heart", whatever that means.
  15. It is hilarious how much Plague Knight breaks some of the boss fights and levels. Tinker Knight drops like a bar of soap.
  16. So who wants to make bets on who the persona are? Ryuji is the easiest to narrow down but the hardest to guess. There were a lot of famous pirates, but the one shown has no beard, so it cannot be Blackbeard. If you assume literature characters, he cannot be Long John Silver because he has no crutches or peg leg that we see, Nor does he have a hook like Captain hook, he has an eyepatch which probably rules out Captain Blood or Comte Monte Cristo, and that's the extent of my pirate knowledge. The other two, I got no clue.
  17. The cutscenes seem to be borrowing from Awakening's style, which made the characters a lot paler. Plus in-game footage vs pre-rendered, plus so many other things. Honestly, I wouldn't doubt that the game uses recycled designs. It's standard practice for Atlus because they don't have the budget to not use anything that their hired artists come up with. But honestly, Meiko's design isn't that similar, or at least in anyway that the other characters aren't. It's an anime styled game, same face is inevitable.
