  1. Finished the thing. Chapter Shiro (14 free): Actually not that bad to keep him from dying, though he does face crit chance from the one Hero he gets attacked by. Everyone gets EXP and stuff. Chapter 21 (2/100): Ryoma gets ferried and ORKOs the boss. Chapter 22 (3/103): Ryoma goes up and kills everything. Sakura solos the left, it’s pretty ok odds with her only needing to dodge one or two attacks and having Miracle. Everyone else scrambles to manage the bottom and right sides. Sakura and Kaden are finally at S, so it’s time to get some more training in. Chapter Selkie (12 free): Reclassed Reina to Falcon Knight for the future and to learn Rally Speed, not that it really matters I guess. Also importantly reclassed Rinkah to Master Ninja to learn Locktouch. Built the puppet to max last time so Yukimura is a thing now. Chapter 23 (4/107): Ryoma, Sakura, and Yukimura charge forward and kill everything. Ryoma (ferried by Reina) gets Rescued further ahead on Turn 1 to reach Cam and pals. Chapter 24 (1/108): Dudes combine their efforts to get the 10,000g Sorcerer. Other people Rescue Ryoma up to nuke Hans. Chapter 25 (2/110): Re-reclassed Rinkah to Oni Chieftain so she could Hammer a dude. Ryoma (with Sakura ferry) gets Entrapped and then Rescued up to kill Iago. Chapter 26 (Xander/111): Reclassed Ryoma to Swordmaster and had him kill the General and Xander for Swordfaire. Chapter 27 (1/112): Ryoma went back to Paladin. Felicia went Strategist and ate some boosters so she could use and reach Garon with the Hexing Rod (28%, whoo?). Ryoma blicks one of the Generals and then Garon. Endgame (1/113): Ryoma: 2, Garon: 0 TEAM REVIEW: Sakura was HILARIOUS and I have absolutely no regrets. Ryoma was dumb. Lilac kinda sucked a lot. Everyone else was ok I guess.
  2. Chapter 13 (7/72): This chapter is dumb and I don’t like trying to speed through it so whatever. Got all the houses. Jakob killed pretty much everything up top with help from Azura, then Sakura ferried him back down south to deal with the second stack of General+Outlaw that tried running after Lilac. Lilac took out most of the center+right, using Dragonstone with Reina dual strikes and then Yato’ing Hans and some Outlaws. Chapter Dwyer (17 Free): Trained dudes. Dwyer reclassed to Cavalier and got some heavy training in, he hit D Lances and got some pretty good levels. Chapter 14 (3/75): Promoted Sakura to Falcon Knight and Dwyer to Paladin. Sakura charged forward with some help from Azura who transfers Reina to her, and Bolt Nagi’d Benny, surviving the Outlaw on EP thanks to dual guard. Dwyer Shelters to protect Azura and drops her inside the castle on Turn 2, Sakura moving in and Separating from Reina. Turn 3 Azura pairs to Reina and Sakura moves forward, gets refreshed, and Beastkillers the boss. Chapter 15 (2/77): Accurate depiction of this chapter: SWOLEKURA with Rinkah pairup kills everything up north on Turn 2, Keaton included. Ryoma+Lilac and Dwyer+Reina takes care of the right hand side after Swolekura+Rinkah softens stuff up on Turn 1 EP. Everyone else just kinda works on the center to clear out the DV space and make a shelterdance work to get Sakura over to the left for Turn 1 EP and activate the DV with Azura. Turn 2 she refreshes Reina holding Dwyer so she can fly over and pick off a couple wolves that weren’t killed on Turn 1 EP. Sakura has a bit of trouble surviving Turn 2, but it’s not tooooo bad with her pretty good Avoid and Miracle. Felicia get! She’ll be nice as pretty much a no-investment staff user, plus she unlocks Jakob’s mount access. Chapter 16 (7/84): Reclassed Jakob to Oni-san so he can try to learn Shove soon-ish (he didn’t even gain one level here, damn it). Reclassed Kaden to Diviner to help pump Sakura’s Magic as high as possible. Also fed her the two Spirit Dusts. These combined allow her to ORKO every enemy on the map besides Iago with the Bolt Naginata (I guess Kaden could also promote to Onmyoji for a bigger bonus too). With Azura’s help she pretty much just rushes in and kills everything except a dum outlaw reinforcement who gets nuked by Lilac. Everyone else just kinda does stuff. Chapter 17 (2/86): Since I have two Shovers (one of them mounted!) I can have Sakura use the Silver Naginata to take out Flora, which is good because otherwise I’d have to re-reclass Jakob and use the Barb Shuriken (or go for a lame 42% hit 5% crit with Reina’s Iron Bow). Ryoma hits the DV so I can get Rinkah onto the ice. Chapter 18 (1/87): Leo. Ryoma and Lilac are at A! Chapter 19 (8/95): The AI in this map is really confusing. Nothing ever uses their healing staves, and yet when dudes get low enough they just run to the dudes hoping to get healed and it just wastes time. Whatever, stupid map, took too long. Sakura and Felicia with Azura’s help mostly handles the right. Everyone else goes left. Jakob learns Shove and reclassed to Paladin after the map for skills. Chapter 20 (3/98): No Lunge, no 2-turn. Some shoving, sheltering, and dancing has Ryoma able to reach and ORKO the boss on Turn 3. Lilac and Ryoma hit S, so the dream of Paladin Ryoma is here. Gonna see if I can do Shiro’s paralogue before he becomes a complete ass to recruit. 3. Chapter 9 (6/51): Jakob kills the first outlaw on the left and Azura enables him to charge north. Rinkah and Sakura tag team the RHS Dank Mage. Rinkah then paired to Sakura who finished off the dank Mage that came to annoy them on EP, then gets refreshed to go up and ORKO the cavs. Lilac stayed behind to KO two Cavs, lure a Dank Mage away from the NPC Scrub Squad with Kodachi. Jakob just keeps charging north, killing the outlaw headed for the RHS treasure room and killing everything except the Knights and left side Cavs on EP. On Turn 3, Sakura moves just in range of Azura and chugs a Vulnerary, then Javelins the knight weakened by Jakob so he can slip through and chug a Vulnerary. Sakura does a lot of combat on EP but survives pretty well thanks to Rinkah pairup, tonics, etc. She switches to Rinkah next turn to clean up a Cav and kill all but one Knight with Brass Club on EP while Jakob kills the outlaw headed for the Speedwing room. Lilac with Azura's help finishes a Dark Mage and moves north. Turn 5, Jakob almost kills the Knight in the stack guarding Zola, Sakura finished the lone Knight, and Azura gets ferried and dropped by Lilac up towards the Sakura Squad. The Knight stack and Zola’s Dark Mage squad die on EP. Final turn; Lilac gets in range of the two Cav reinforcements, Sakura moves up and gets refreshed, transfers Rinkah to Jakob, and KOs the Outlaw blocking Zola. Jakob takes the Iron Shuriken and 2RKOs Zola between PP and EP, and the cavs suicide on Lilac. Chapter 10 is gonna suck, but then again it always does. Chapter 10 (6/57): Okay, I was wrong, this was pretty easy past the first couple turns. Jakob+Rinkah KO the bottom stationary Ninja, then with a refresh rush through fullmoving every turn to reach the boss on Turn 5, ORKOing everything that tries to touch him (he’s 1 STR away from OHKOing Ninjas with Steel, wtf) thanks to Rinkah’s dumb pairup bonuses. Jakob kills the boss on Turn 5 EP and then kills the Priestess. The rest just kinda hang back and deal with the enemies at the start. Azura gets attacked by the upper stationary Ninja on EP but she isn’t ORKO’d, meanwhile Sakura and Lilac with Javelin and Kodachi are able to take out a Ninja on PP1 and EP1 thanks to dual strikes. Azura recruits Takumi when he shows up and he goes off into a corner to do nothing. Sakura can ORKO pretty much every generic on the map, even the Ninjas on Player Phase. Chapter 11 (6/63): Reina is recruited, finally! I had to figure out a way to manipulate her and the enemy Wyvern’s movement consistently to recruit her on the correct tile so she could make it to the Falcon Knight’s corner in time. Jakob and Rinkah make a beeline towards the boss’ area, killing the initial Malig Knight along the way, and Sakura eats the Energy Drop and heads north to KO some pegs and a Wyvern. Lilac hangs around the start to recruit Reina on Turn 2 and trade her a Str/Def Tonic and the Guard Naginata, then KOs a couple Wyverns with the Dragonstone. Reina flies down to the Falcoknight’s corner to rout dudes and OHKO the Falcon Knight after Str Tonic with the Iron Bow. Sakura and Lilac hang back with Azura to try to lure and pick off Kinshis weakened by Jakob and rout Wyverns and Pegasi on the final turns. Reina has to kill the Snake Spirit guy with the Iron Bow when he shows up and it’s PRETTY GREAT facing a chance at being OHKO’d by a crit (it was the worst and ended many otherwise successful attempts) Chapter 12 (2/65): Reina flies Lilac to the exit. Everyone else gets the Hammer, money thief, and some EXP. Jakob and Rinkah hit S afterward so I’m prolly gonna do Dwyer’s paralogue soon-ish. 4. For some reason I forgot to post my Chapter 8 clear in that post, but no, I meant Chapter 9. I figured out the issue anyways, for some reason Zola wouldn't attack Jakob if he was using the Steel Shuriken, so I just switched to the Iron. I don't know why but it's working now. I'd have it done already if Corrin would stop missing these Cavalier reinforcements on the final turn >_>
  5. Prologue (2/2): F!Corn, named Lilac, +HP -Luk, Cavalier talent. I HAVE A LATEGAME PLAN and uh, many stupid earlygame plans. it’s gonna be terrible probably. Chapter 1 (4/6): LILAC FIGHT THROUGH DEADLY WOUNDS Chapter 2 (3/9): JAKOB CONSUME SAMURAI FOR BREAKFAST Chapter 3 (5/14): JAKOB NOT ABLE TO CONSUME EXTRA ARCHER SOUL Chapter 4 (7/21): WHY DOES LILAC NEED 9 SPEED TO DOUBLE THINGS AGH Chapter 5 (4/25): RYOMA = SCRUB Chapter 6 (1/26): XANDER IS ALSO SCRUB BUT IT STILL TOOK LIKE 10 TRIES FOR RYOMA TO NOT WHIFF AN ATTACK OR DIE Chapter 7 (7/33): Anyways. My stupid earlygame plan: SKY KNIGHT SAKURA. Gaze upon her mighty base 6 Strength and DESPAIR. it uh, actually saved a turn here, so. Chapter Mozu (6/39): Rinkah and Sakura work on getting SWOLE. Chapter 8 (6/45): Jakob and Rinkah go up and kill stuff. Everyone else cleans other stuff. Don’t have enough dudes to 5-turn, sadly. Sakura has more Strength than Speed, which is… slightly concerning? I've got a 6-turn strat for Chapter 9 down but for some reason Zola won't attack Jakob on enemy phase? Does he have to detect a kill to bother attacking or something?
  6. Reina: I KNEW IT Yukimura: LEADERSHIP STAR Ryoma+Shiro: OUGI Kaden+Selkie: NO well i mean i guess he's a speed pairup or something Dwyer: RECLASS TO CAVALIER Sakura: RALLY/STAFFBOT Felicia 16: STAFFBOT Rinkah: SHOVE No idea how I want to pair Corn and Jakob but I'll figure that out before starting I guess.
  7. 15, because everyone knows Luck is the most important stat!
  8. Unimpressive personal skill could apply to like, half the cast, so I'll go ahead and take the gamble.
  9. 5 means I don't have to work to recruit them, at least. Gimme.
  10. I know almost nothing about the characters birthdays which is why picking "19; Was born on an even day" seems like a good idea. So what's the verdict on servant reclassing? Since Ether pointed out that Exception 1 and Rule 7 seem to conflict.
  11. Realized I never came back to this and finished it finally. Chapter 23 (4/107): Sold a little bit of stuff to buy the Spirit Dust to cap Hayato’s Magic as a Chieftain so he could ORKO Paladins through WTD using Tiger Spirit without a +Mag or Supportive pairup (that’s a mouthful). Also gave him a Dracoshield and Talisman to improve survival. Camilla is a really annoying bosskill thanks to Tomebreaker, Hayato needs to connect 2 of 4 attacks at 30~40%ish accuracy depending on the weapon and it’s terrible. I used a Subaki to Rescue on Turn 1 to bring Caeldori pocket Hayato closer forward so Hayato could advance to the boss area and wipe out everything on the way. He then brought Jakob over to the bottom left to kill a bunch of stuff with Barb and Sting Shuriken. Chapter 24 (1/108): A bunch of shenanigans allowed Subaki to Rescue Caeldori pocket Jakob up to 2-range Hans with Barb Shuriken and ORKO with 2 hits 1 crit. Shigure Hammer’d one of the Generals and Silas ferried Hayato to get the 10000g Sorcerer. Also got the Venge Naginata I guess. Chapter 25 (2/110): Everybody contributes to clearing out the start area and Subaki pocket Jakob flies just in range of the Entrap dude. Shigure’s Rally Def helps a lot ensuring Subaki’s survival on EP as one of the Berserkers gets lured by Caeldori (pocket Shigure)’s poor bulk into attacking her instead of Subaki, allowing him to survive. Turn 2 Caeldori flies up and Rescues Subaki, he flies up and Jakob ORKOs with Barb Shuriken with 2 hits 1 crit (100% hit 23% crit). Tomebreaker makes it pretty safe. Chapter 26 (1/111): I had to give Wendy a Str Tonic and Energy Drop to cap Str for her to actually ORKO Xander with a DF proc. Then she got two and nullified ALL MY WORK. Chapter 27 (1/112): Gave two Arms Scrolls to Jakob so he could use the Hexing Rod. Reclassed Setsuna to Kinshi Knight for +Move pairup (I guess Ninja could’ve worked too). Used my two remaining Rescue charges (on seperate staves, but it wouldn’t have mattered here) to bring up Shigure pocket Wendy and Sophie pocket Azura. Shigure bops one of the Generals in front of Garon, and then Azura refreshes him. Hayato nukes the General near the starting point with Rhajat for backup. With a Shove and a Swap, Silas pocket Jakob can just barely get in range of Garon and go for the Hexing Rod at 26%. Failing that, Wendy can fish for a double Dragon Fang. Thankfully only took a few tries to land the Hex. Endgame (1/113): Jakob Hex’d, Shigure Hammer’d, Hinata SHOVED Wendy with Hayato and they walked up and bopped Garon. Azura was there to Sing in case she whiffed (AND SHE DID because her Skill is ass) Final Thoughts Wendy kinda sucked, then really sucked, then kinda not-sucked. Truly lived up to her namesake. Jakob was a lesson that Fem!Corrin is a bad idea in SOYOs (or… a good idea, technically?), he was stupidly good for almost the entire game and was never irrelevant combat-wise. Azura sang for a lot of people and birthed Shigure so that was neat. Shigure came a little bit late, but still did some pretty stupid things. Wyvern!Shigure is totally ballin’ and it was amazing. Speed was pretty eh but this is Birthright where Speed is easy to fix up. Having a flying Hammer user was fantastic and made the final chapter way easier. Subaki I gave a bit of shit early-game, but he was honestly amazing to have and made Chapter 11 not suck completely. Also, flying Rescue. That was nice. Setsuna was just kinda there for the most part, but she did have some valuable points as both Subaki’s pairup and dealing with a few enemies in Chapter 11. Plus she was an extra body to have around for pairup shenanigans. Caeldori existed. She wasn’t bad, just unremarkable. She gave decent enough bonuses to Shigure and had existent combat. Her poor bulk was actually pretty nice in Chapter 25 distracting a Berserker away from Subaki. Importantly though, she was another 8-move Rescuebot, and that can't be overvalued. Hayato was ridiculous. He grew really quickly and from midgame onwards he just kinda facerolled over everything. Very much worth the effort to train, and Shove utility helped a lot too. Rhajat was a’ight. Not as good as Hayato but had better Resistance and Rend Heaven so was better suited to fighting enemy Sorcerers. Hinata had Shove and that's the only thing he that was worth anything. Hisame … uh… oops? If I'd had another female unit to pair Hinata with, another Shover would've been nice I guess. Oboro became pretty great after she settled into Paladin and had useful combat otherwise. Silas sucks but that’s fine because Bow Knight pairup is pretty good. Sophie was Oboro-lite, and that’s honestly all she needed to be. An extra Shelter user was good. Overall this was a pretty solid team tbh.
  12. Let's go with "a Retainer of noblity". That can't possibly go wrong.
  13. Sure why not. Is Rule 5 not supposed to be there, or is this actually a SOYO Trivia? Either way I'm in.
  14. Chapter 16 (8/87): Reinforcements suck. Fed Hayato another Spirit Dust and the two Secret Books so he can ORKO a Sorcerer with Tiger Spirit and patch up his hit rates. Shigure+Jakob and Subaki+Setsuna just kinda ran in and killed stuff, everyone else took care of some reinforcements and dudes at the start. Got the Silence and Goddess Icon thanks to the thieves opening them for me. Wendy and Hayato along with Subaki and Setsuna hit S after this chapter. Chapter Rhajat (9 free): Did this almost exclusively for Shove. Rhajat’s pretty okay I guess. Passed Seal Resistance and Nobility. Hinata reclassed to Blacksmith so he and Hayato could both learn to Shove things. Also realized... I unintentionally gave Rhajat a pretty good shade of purple hair. Chapter 17 (2/89): Promoted Shigure to Wyvern Lord. Kinda lucked out on team composition, I needed both Shoves to save a turn here since my bosskiller (Jakob) doesn’t give +Move. Also Swap to get Azura close enough while ferried by Shigure to refresh on Turn 1 (she passes him to Subaki during the refresh). Silas ferries one of my Shovebots to Shigure, then Jakob gets paired to by one of my Shovers, moves up and gets refreshed, then transfers himself and Hinata/Hayato (whichever it was) Shoves Shigure one more space so he can fly over and have Jakob Barb Shuriken Flora in the face (doubles, 74% hit, 37% crit). Actually needed Rhajat to freeze the lake so I could get a second Shove user onto the Lake tiles (Wendy can't reach the DV). Chapter 18 (1/90): Oboro killed Odin for Horse Spirit, Shigure killed Leo for the sake of actually beating the map. Nobody even gained a level. Chapter 19 (6/96): yeah. Hayato and Rhajat solo’d the right, everyone else went left. Probably could’ve shaved a turn with a bunch of Barb Shuriken crits on Turn 5 EP. Chapter 20 (2/98): Shigure pocket Jakob Lunges into the boss room, then switches to Jakob on Turn 2 and Barb crits the boss. Through a series of wacky DOUBLE SHOVE AZURA events, I also managed to get Silas to blick the 5000g guy with Brass Bow. Silas and Oboro hit S finally. Chapter 21 (2/100): Subaki flies up and Rescues Shigure holding Hayato, who moves in and attacks the Sniper with Horse Spirit. Turn 2, Hayato moves within 9 spaces of the boss and switches to Shigure. Subaki flies up, switches to Azura and refreshes, Shigure flies up and Hayato ORKOs the boss with Tiger Spirit. Chapter Caeldori (12 free): Reclassed Oboro to Merchant for some skills before Partner Sealing to Paladin. Passed down Quick Draw. Wendy got some good leveling here since she’s been kinda on the backburner since earlygame. Also promoted Setsuna to Sniper because she’s just pairup fodder at this point and Subaki could use the little extra boost. Chapter Sophie (11? free): Passed down Potent Potion and Riposte. Saved all the villagers. Not much else to say about it. So unremarkable I forgot how quickly I cleared it. Chapter 22 (3/103): Heeere we go. Sophie+Hayato and Oboro+Silas took the north. Wendy+Hinata solo’d the right with some help from Azura. Subaki and Shigure+Caeldori took the left. Jakob and Rhajat each take one of the lower ballistae and keep the reinforcements there off them on Turn 3 EP so they’re forced to attack. Setsuna kinda hung around the center so that on Turn 3, Azura could pair to her to reach Oboro and refresh her after she Javelins the last Maid to kill one of the Adventurers. Hayato pulls out RABBIT SPIRIT to ORKO the other one and the Dark Mage on EP. 15. Chapter 10 (7/59): Dumb map, but Jakob is even dumber. I think this is the strongest Jakob I’ve ever had. He and Azura run to the boss area being my only real anti-Ninja and kill pretty much everything. Hayato kills Takumi with some help from Wendy and those two + Hinata kinda just hang around the start killing stuff. Subaki eventually makes his way to the boss zone to kill the Shrine Maiden and he and Jakob kill Kotaro on Turn 7. Chapter 11 (6/65): This is a great training ground for Hayato, what with all the wyverns at the starting area and him ORKOing all of them. Jakob and Azura (with some help from Hinata) head up to the northwest to fight the enemies and fight the boss there; Jakob gets a lucky crit on the Malig Knight, which may or may not have facilitated a turn shave (i think i could’ve set it up for him to die on EP). After a bit of cleanup in the center, Silas and Oboro make their way back to the start to deal with the northern Pegs on Turn 6 EP, with Wendy pocket Hayato taking out the ones from the south. Subaki and Setsuna charged forward taking care of some Wyverns and the Falcoknight’s corner; afterwards they headed up to assist Jakob with the bosskill going to Subaki. Hinata killed a Wyvern all on his own, so proud. Jakob and Azura may be hitting S very soon…! Chapter 12 (2/67): Promoted Subaki to Falcon Knight and had him ferry Wendy to the goal. Everyone else went south to rout some dudes and get the Hammer + 3000g. Speed Tonic Hayato pocket Hinata got a few kills from 2 range, and finished the Great Knight after Sting Shuriken Jakob weakened him, hitting Lv 10 in the process. Probably gonna be a bit before he promotes. Chapter 13 (6/73): Hinata promotes to Master of Arms so he can ORKO the Fighters and survive better against other stuff like Wyverns. The pairup bonuses will be nice in the future. He and Jakob start out taking the left side cavs and Wyverns, with Jakob eventually heading north with Azura to fight the armors. Hayato and Wendy headed to the right to take on the enemies there, Silas and Oboro helping later; Hayato gets to kill the right side General and ORKOs Hans. Subaki faces off against Camilla and Beruka, baiting Cam into 1-range thanks to WTD. Got the Heart Seal, Spirit Dust, Talisman, and money. Jakob and Azura hit S, so uh, Wyvern Shigure incoming? At least now I can fully dedicate Hinata as Jakob’s pairup. Chapter 14 (4/77): Fed the Spirit Dust to Hayato, HORSE SPIRIT EMBLEM IS HERE. Just kinda ran in and watched things die, did a shelter dance to get Subaki and Hayato closer to Benny and Charlotte. Had to dance Subaki inside the fortress so he could reach the boss by Turn 4 (almost all the enemies were dead by then, Horse Spirit and Barb Shuriken too stronk). I gave tonics to Azura so she could survive a Javelin hit from a paladin on Turn 3, but they ended up not even being able to reach her in the winning run. Chapter 15 (2/79): Hayato AtSes off Subaki to kill the starting promoted guy, then Jakob Barb crits the guy standing on the DV so Wendy can hit it. Subaki flies over to chip the left-ish promoted dude with Bolt Naginata, and Oboro Swaps Azura so she can reach and refresh Subaki. He flies off to take care of the leftmost dudes on EP, and Silas Shelters Azura. Turn 2, Subaki flies to a magic tile that allows him to kill literally everything left in the north half of the map and attacks the Pavise dude. Hayato gets ferried by Jakob with a refresh to kill the 3 guys in the bottom left on EP, and promoted to Basara mid-map since he proc’d Future Sight off the promoted guy on Turn 1 and hit Lv 18. Chapter Shigure (15 free): Wanted my Wyvern sooner rather than later. Took the opportunity to reclass Hayato to Chieftain which he will probably be in for the rest of the game (maybe a dip into Onmyoji for Tomefaire?), the bulk and Shove will be useful, plus the bonuses for Wendy are a bit better being Str and Defense instead of garbage Luck and Res. Also reclassed Silas to Mercenary and promoted to Bow Knight for the Speed and pairup bonuses (and skills i guess?), Oboro will be taking over Paladin duties at some point anyways. Reclassed Shigure to Wyvern Rider and gave him an Arms Scroll for the next map. He inherited Luck+4 and Tomebreaker, this is gonna be FUN. 16. With such a 9/10 team, we need a 9/10 Corrin to help us out; enter WENDY. Prologue (2/2): Uh. Chapter 1 (5/7): Need a Str proc for the 5-turn (55%). Wendy did one better and got a PERFECT LEVEL UP. Chapter 2 (3/10): Go up the right. Sometimes when the northmost Samurai moves, they don’t go above Kaze which makes the Samurai Wendy chips die on Jakob instead of Gunter (I guess the AI prioritizes having AtS?). It’s random but gives an extra kill to Jakob (didn’t happen here). Chapter 3 (5/15): Wendy whiffed the first hit on the boss, then crit him on EP which was pretty funny. Jakob killed an Archer so he was sitting at 3.97 leaving the chapter. Chapter 4 (7/22): Hit the boss’ DV and get lucky. Chapter 5 (4/26): I wish Ryoma surviving wasn’t such a coinflip. Wendy got a couple good levels though. Her Def actually kinda sucked so she couldn’t survive Steel Sword Merc chip followed by a Wyrmslayer without either healing or leveling up Def on the first Merc. Chapter 6 (1/27): Jakob was at 97 EXP so he killed Leo and chipped a Cav for two levels, and Wendy killed a Fighter. Ryoma unnecessarily crit Xander at a 1% chance. Chapter 7 (8/35): Bought a Kodachi for Wendy to use. Deployed an undrafted Rinkah to trade a Str Tonic to Subaki so he can ORKO Fighters with Wendy pairup. The group muscles through towards the center using Azura to help take down the stacks. The strat I used requires Subaki to get a Str level up so he can ORKO a Soldier, which is the only big risk in the entire thing to be honest. On Turn 7, Wendy takes out Silas, Subaki one of the Cavs using Wendy AtS, and Jakob kills the Outlaw reinforcement and a Fighter with Azura’s help, moving in range of the central Outlaw. On the last turn, Jakob gets refreshed to chip the knight near the center chest so he dies on EP, and Wendy + Subaki finish the last Cavalier. Chapter Mozu (6/41): Jakob and Azura went south, Azura actually contributing chip via AtS to ORKO a couple goons. The rest went west. I hope Subaki gains Speed at some point. Chapter 8 (5/46): Jakob got refreshed a bit further on Turn 1. Wendy hits the DV and Silas kills one of the starting Samurai. Turn 2 Azura backpacks on Silas to pair with Jakob and go visit Fuga; he needs to gain a level and proc Speed to double Fuga with the Steel Shuriken (though he has a not insignificant crit chance too). He routs the enemies around the boss area and everyone else cleans the rest of the map. Chapter 9 (6/52): Simple and pretty fun once I figured it out. Hayato and Wendy stay around the start and pick off enemies there, then go up to deal with the Cav reinforcements come Turn 6 EP. Everyone else makes a push north, Jakob+Azura going right and the rest going up the left. Jakob kills the not-speedwings Outlaw before they can even get to the chest room. Silas OHKOs the Speedwing Outlaw with Steel Sword (after he got the Speedwing). Jakob with some help goes to fight Zola with Steel Shuriken, KOing between PP and EP. Zola even crit him for 20 damage (he lived because he’s Jakob). Managed to feed a few kills to Hayato, I need a strong 1~2 user so hopefully he takes off sooner rather than later. UNIT CLASS Lvl HP St Mg Sk Sp Lc Df Rs Wendy Nohr Princess 11.55 26 12 07 12 15 16 14 06 Jakob Butler 14.00 30 14 07 19 16 17 14 12 Subaki Sky Knight 10.19 26 11 02 17 12 10 10 10 Silas Cavalier 10.27 23 13 00 12 10 08 12 06 Setsuna Archer 04.78 19 08 00 09 11 06 05 03 Hayato Diviner 03.77 18 01 05 07 09 09 05 05 Oboro Spear Fighter 10.00 Base Hinata Samurai 10.00 Base Azura Songstress 5.97 No. Jakob is just straight-up better than Wendy in every conceivable way, it’s amazing. Baki is DISAPPOINTING, so in other words he’s a normal Subaki. Not looking forward to Chapter 10, probably my least favorite map in the whole game.
  17. Honestly at this point I'm not sure who's the worst of the good so I just picked the two units I wanted least. I guess Kaze is pretty good with 1~2 range but I never liked his low bulk in such an EP-heavy environment.
  18. In that case I'll change Horace to THWOMP as well so Glorious Hoshido can choke points. Still F!Corn for me Carmine?
  19. HA, my master plan of getting Setsuna was foolproof! Horace can take Ch 15 Servant and -Str +Luk Knight M!Corn (we're picking gender too I guess?) oh and also uuuuuh Shura i guess? It's not in the rules, so is Corn allowed to be in a mounted class? While it's pretty unlikely to get something like Dragon or Cavalier as a Talent, they can still A and S people to get access to mounts under the current rules.
  20. Welp. Count me in. also Exception 1 "The first servant may not reclass to a mounted class until the second one is obtained." seems a little redundant with Rule 7 :P Are we allowed to stick to the Nohr Prince(ess) line or are we required to Heart Seal to our Talent class at some point?
  21. Chapter 23 (4/126): I really love this map, it’s fun no matter what way you go about it. Anyways, strategy; Fir pairs to Gunter and flies up and Levins Rallyman from just above the gap. Jakob moves into range to provide Gentilhomme support. Mozu and Shigure (pocket Shura) move into position to fly across the gap next turn. The other three pairs (PercyxNina, SelenaxArthur, and NilesxAzura) fly into a specific pattern; ...so as to avoid all the enemies except the Ballista which can’t kill them anyways. EP a bunch of stuff attacks Fir, all of which have low% crit chance that will instantly end the run. Fun! Turn 2, Mozu finishes one of the Spear Masters, Shigure flies up and transfers himself to Mozu so Shura can AtS onto another for Mozu to gain a level (why not?), then Fir Levins the final one, hitting Lv 15 in the process. End of Turn 2. Nothing happens on EP except some MoA stacks move in on the flying squad. Turn 3, Flight Squad shuffle themselves around a bit with Niles sitting on the stairs, Percy adjacent, and Arthur moving 2L of the stairs. Shigure heals Fir, Shura takes Mozu and drops her, and Fir moves up the stairs close to the ballista and Heart Seals to Master of Arms. EP; a lot of stuff attacks Fir and dies for their insolence, Fir barely holding on thanks to the MoA reclass, shield gauge, Def Tonic, and Gunter’s pairup. She’s just barely out of range of the Lunge Spear Masters thankfully. Turn 4 is make-or-break time. Niles moves so that he’s 9 squares away from the throne (using the stairs), as does Percy. Nina moves, transfers herself to Percy, and Azura refreshes him. Arthur Shelters, and Selena takes Azura and refreshes Niles. Percy has to land a Killer Axe crit on Takumi at 61% hit, 28% crit for 52 damage (Skill Tonic). He doubles, but also dies if he doesn’t get it on the first swing unless Takumi misses a >90% shot. Percy hits Lv 15 and learns Swordbreaker for his efforts. Mozu and Shura move in to grab the Boots and the 10,000g (thank god), Fir and Shigure get in some last minute kills, and Niles seizes. Fir learns Life and Death. Chapter 24 (2/128): I have six fliers, two of which have 9 move. So that makes things pretty simple overall. Percy with Mozu pairup can critblick Hinoka at 65% Hit, 25% crit (Skl and Luk tonics for reliability, Str tonic for damage; I could’ve used Gunter instead but wanted the extra reliability of Kinshi bonuses). Shura grabs some easy EXP off the Onmyojis, Selena does the same for Benny support. Once Hinoka goes down, Fir backpacks on Niles to Levin the Chieftain, and Shigure gets refreshed with some help from Gunter ferrying Azura to seize. Chapter 25 (3/131): Fir walks up to Ryoma and gets a normal hit, then a Killing Edge Dragon Fang (3 damage short on the crit, thanks game). If I gave her Boots she could Kodachi him on Turn 1 and save a turn by getting that plus KECDF, but… the odds aren’t great to begin with, and this just kinda happened. I'll keep a save here in case I need to redo it for the Silence staff (god i hope not). Chapter Dwyer (17 Free): This won't get any easier. Benny reclasses to Berserker to learn Rally Strength. Fir level capped. Shura gained Shurikenfaire. Mozu and Selena did some training. Benny and Selena hit S, at quite literally the perfect time. Ignatius… may have some use. And if not, free EXP before the hardest chapter in the game, so why not? E: Finished! Chapter Ignatius (13 Free): Passed down Rally Strength and Rally Speed. Offspring’d him to Great Knight and reclassed to Berserker; I needed some raw power for 26, and Ignatius as a Berserker has got that in spades. Combine this with two rallies and he’s pretty much set to contribute in 26. Percy reclassed to Malig to learn Trample and Savage Blow, then back to Wyvern Lord after the map. Chapter 26 (6/137): VERY fun map to plan, I’d say it was the most fun map in this entire run to be honest; every unit had a use. Took a few tonics out for Fir, Percy, Shura, even Ignatius. Reclassed Flora to Strategist. Distributed out statboosters. Boots to Percy, two Speedwings and a Goddess Icon to Ignatius, Dracoshield and Goddess Icon to Fir. Arms Scroll and Talisman to Shura, who hits A Kunai. Nina opens the front door, Selena Rallies Speed. Fir with Gunter pairup and some Shelter refreshes kills two Heroes and the Maid, moving to the lower gap in the torches.. Percy Lunges the top right Hero, and Ignatius kills another. Flora and Jakob freeze two Heroes. Ignatius gets Enfeebled and the un-frozen Heroes die on Fir EP. Turn 2: Nina opens the right door, Percy flies down and switches to Shura, killing a Sorcerer. Fir gets refreshed ahead to Levin the Entrap Maid. Everyone gets as far in the hall as they can without being in Sorcerer and Hero range. Turn 3, Shura gets Rallied by Ignatius and opens the door from the top; his odds of survival are pretty high, but not foolproof. Fir and Ignatius form a wall to block the Heroes and kill them on EP (they die on Fir, who has Shield Gauge and Vantage so she will survive 100% of the time). Flora and Arthur block the stairs from Sorcerer reinforcements. Everyone else positions themselves. (image taken from failed attempt, but it’s pretty close; Turn 4 makes the exact positioning not matter as much) Turn 4: Benny pairs to Mozu and she goes and kills the Freeze Maid with a Bronze Bow. Everyone else positions themselves to open the bottom door. Turn 5 the door is opened, the Sorcerer killed, and everyone positions themselves for the final charge. Turn 6: Flora Entraps Hans, and Gunter with a Javelin Lunges one of the generals out of the way. Azura with Shelter refreshes a couple people; one to open the door to Iago, and one to bosskill (Shura with Percy, in this case). In my successful run, I forgot to Rally him so I had to rely on a crit/lethality proc (He does 21x2 with his stats still somewhat Enfeebled, Rally would bring him up to guaranteed ORKO range). The crit happened, so I had Shigure use Rescue on Mozu to Seize. Fir chipped Hans with Levin Sword out of spite. I think I could’ve avoided using Rescue with slightly better positioning but I never figured out where to best use these, so… *shrug*. Sold Excalibur for tonic money. Chapter 27 (2/139): Used two Rescue charges to get Fir and Azura close enough to reach Garon on Turn 2. Probably could do it with only one if I did shelter shenanigans. Ignatius with Shura pair deployed in the top left to Rally. One Dragon Fang required. Swordfaire + Life and Death is a lot of damage. Exact damage, even. Endgame (1/140): Rally Speed alone allows Corrin to do 33x2 and ORKO at 100% hit. Life and Death is so much fun. Standard Rescue+Entrap+Shelter strategy. I never appreciated it much before but Master of Arms has a pretty kickass design. Overall I had a lot of fun with this run and I didn’t expect to beat Gradivus anyways besides the dumb bosskills in 17, 23, 24, and 25. May edit in unit stats later but it’s like 11pm right now. Fir/Corrin: Taking a Samurai talent does not save turns. That aside it was a fun build and I’m glad I tried it out, it was not nearly the hinderance I thought it’d be. Low Mag made Levin Sword pretty sketchy though, I had exactly enough with a Mag Tonic and Gunter pairup to ORKO stuff in 26 which was pretty lucky. Arthur: Helpful early on with mounted-ness, saved turns (and sanity) later on with Shelter-ness. Sadly not fast enough to really contribute mid-lategame combat-wise, but such is life. You’ll always be a hero in my heart, Arthur. Percy: Wyvern is pretty dumb. Nobility and Elbow Room on a Wyvern are triple dumb. What can I say? He took a little bit to take off, but once he did he was the team MVP no questions asked. Trample wasn’t a necessity on him in retrospect (other units could clean up after his Lunge), but I didn’t lose much by getting it on him. Jakob: Jakob did not, in fact, eventually learn to ride a horse. We are all disappointed in you, Jakob. He did staffbot things and his combat was useful at times. I could have made him a Falcon Knight with a Partner Seal if i needed a… seventh… flier… hey, maybe it could’ve saved a turn somewhere, I dunno. Azura: Inspiring Song is pretty dumb in the best possible way. Shigure: I was originally thinking Wyvern Shigure could be a cool backup plan in case Percy ended up being pretty bad. That didn’t happen, and would have been hilariously impractical anyways. Still, he had just enough of everything to be useful when he needed to be. Niles: I was kind of disappointed by him combat-wise, but a 9-move flier is never useless. Mozu: Half the shit in this run I did was made infinitely easier/actually accomplishable thanks to her and Niles, what with their 9 move flight shenanigans and Mozu having actual combat. I can officially say Mozu was actually a valuable member of the team. She was an extra Locktoucher and had a crazy 9 move with flight. She had pretty poor HP growth overall which kept her from the front lines most of the time, but she still actually did significant work. Nina: +Move +Spd pairup for Percy and a free lockpicker. Not complaining. Poor bulk prevented her from actually doing anything combat-wise, but having a 9 move mount was very helpful in a lot of situations. Like 26. Benny: Half pairup fodder, half rallybot. He was free, so I can’t complain much. Rally Str was pretty cool. Selena: I’ve heard legends of Selenas with existent survivability and combat. I think they’re bullshit. That said, flying staff user, Rally Speed bot, and Rescue bot. I had Shigure, yeah, but two is better than one. Ignatius: He ate two Speedwings, but hey; I can legitimately say no one else needed them, so he was the best candidate. He killed a Hero in Chapter 26, served as a rock-solid meatshield there as well, and rallybot’d Fir to victory in 27 and Endgame. Thanks a bunch, Ignatius. Gunter: For the cost of 1 Heart Seal, you get one of the best pair-up fodders in the game (even for not-Corrins). Worth it. Shura: Secretly the most important member of the team. I had NO answer to the Sorcerer room in 26 until I realized Shura has the Ninja line. Being able to bosskill in Chapter 17 is already pretty good, but then you can reclass him to Master Ninja and use paralogues to grind out his Kunai rank. Only problem is mediocre Str growth and Conquest’s low number of Energy Drops means he might have trouble hitting the benchmarks. Still totally worth it, did everything I could’ve ever wanted and then some. And he avenged Kohga. Shura > Boots. Flora: Free staff user. She did everything she needed to excellently.
