I've heard conflicting statements about it. Several places (including the OP) say that the same-sex couples don't result in children, and someone claimed earlier that a 2ch player who married Zero as M!Kamui said that he didn't get the child paralogue, but the person two posts up suggests that you get Eponine regardless of who Zero is paired with.

I meant because Camilla is already a promotion of Belka's class (or at least, I assume she is), so reclassing one to the other would be pointless.

Camilla's A+ with Belka seems a bit pointless if this is the case. That sounds like a good explanation. I definitely remember reading that there's a seal that lets you change to your spouses class. Though thinking about it, I'm assuming it doesn't work for Kamui's spouse. Maybe that's where A+ comes in.

If there are no support conversations for A+ supports then why are they so limited? You'd think every path that doesn't end in S would have one.

With regards to Kamui and the Hoshido siblings:

I was concerned yesterday, but the reveal of Shara and Zero has calmed me down enough that I'm perfectly fine with all this, because at least they are being equal opportunity with the gratuitousness of Fates and actually pushing the envelope a bit. As long as I don't feel like it detracts from the core gameplay and the rest of the game is at the same standard as Awakening I don't mind it at all. It's just harmless fluff. I'll admit that the Hoshido siblings being S rankable made me pause, but that's more because of the insanely complex backstory they seem to be giving Kamui. If it was just "Yes they are your siblings but we're letting you marry them anyway if you choose" I wouldn't actually mind so much, but all this jumping through hoops as to if/how you're related is a bit ridiculous.

Thank god! Random reinforcements out of nowhere was something I hated in Awakening.

Apparently the epilogues mention that they adopt children together but they don't appear in the actual game like the other children.

I doubt they would be censored in the west, as it tends to be more open about things like this than Japan nowadays. And considering some of the other stuff in the game, particularly some of the S rank skinship lines... I think the censors have far more pressing concerns than Zero and Shara. The S rank supports for both have already been leaked and linked in other threads and they are pretty harmless and sweet, so I think they did an OK job.

Apparently the M!Kamui/Zero and F!Kamui/Shara epilogues specifically mention them adopting even though said kids don't appear in the game itself, which is a little odd.

Kanna wouldn't make much sense, but I thought that they might still give you Zero's daughter.

Yeah, having Tharja 2.0 be the female option does make sense. Making her a second gen character doesn't fix the child thing though, since presumably you still get Kanna (and Zero's daughter) if you S rank them as the same gender. I guess adoption could explain Zero's daughter, but not so much Kanna who is very clearly also part dragon.

I'd have thought that any same gender options would be children due to the child mechanic. I'm surprised they went for one child and one first gen character. As for the characters in question, half of Nohr is crazy from what we've seen so I guess I don't mind much. And while there are only two options in this game if it's popular I can see it being expanded upon in future games. It's a pretty big deal for a game published by Nintendo, where this sort of thing is practically unheard of, and an interesting step forward.

I never really liked inigo but I absolutely adore Soleil's design. She's my favorite of the children by far. Zoffy and Lutz are adorable.

"Zero for male characters" me: oh great, guys get the short end of the stick. Classic double standard... oh they mean the character Zero! Looks like the guy who said male Kamui could S support Zero in the hype thread wasn't talking rubbish. And just after I'd accepted there wouldn't be any same sex options and settled on Soleil!

So, can Kamui S rank with all of the children? Because some of them look even younger than Nowi. In fact, even if they can only S rank each other it'll still be weird... some of them look 12 and some of them look 25. And then there's the skinship mode on top of it all >.>

Have we seen a non-kamui same gender support path that doesn't go up to A+? Maybe it's the norm for non-Kamui supports.

Not quite. They'd also need to let you marry and have children with Lilith, that dragon-thing. Male Kamui only though, obviously. My argument is that if the developer has no qualms with the backlash/criticism they would receive from including incest in their game then they shouldn't have any qualms with the backlash/criticism they would get from including same gender couples. And if they don't then what reason is there not to include them? As for children, there's an entire second generation of characters who will likely be able to S rank each other without children coming into it at all, so obviously the romance mechanic is more than just children. And there's no reason not to at least allow same gender pairings among the second generation.

I'm not sure how they could censor the resulting child though.
