  1. Well, I spend about 7.5 hours in school per day, 5 days a week. Not that I appreciate it, mind you, but it doesn't seem that bad. But then again, depends on what your job is like...
  2. Well, if I calculated right, by area it would need to be about 185% larger.... .................. Eh, you know what I mean! It's still huge! ^^;
  3. This isn't so much a fail for me as for the AI, but I guess it's relevant anyway. So I was playing FE8, and it was my first playthrough of a Fire Emblem game ever so I was terrible and had no idea how anything worked. I was playing Eirika's route, and I got to chapter 9. Amelia appeared, and I thought "ooh, she must be recruitable!" But I was so bad that I actually couldn't get to her in time before she left. So I thought "oh well, I have enough units anyway" and carried on without her. Then in chapter 13, she reappeared, but I didn't notice her at all. So, halfway through the chapter, I position Seth to tank a choke point. Enemy phase, Amelia comes and initiates battle with Seth. I think "hey, what? Why the hell is Amelia here?" Amelia hits Seth, does no damage, Seth counterattacks and oneshots her. And then her death quote... “I… I did well, didn’t I?” I freaking lost it at that. Nope! Nope, you didn't do well at all! I didn't restart for her anyway. Well, I had Seth and it was my first playthrough, so what do you expect.
  4. Holy crap, that map is huge! Seriously, this is dangerously close to FE4 levels of huge! And it's an indoor map, for goodness' sake!
  5. The attack theme is the boss theme from Mystic Quest Legend. (I refuse to call the game FF:MQ) I agree that it's pretty awesome. You can find several good MIDIs of it over at VGMusic.com. No idea what any of the rest of the music is though!
  6. Hey Ghast, thanks for playing Micro Emblem! It was a really fun video to watch, and I'd say you did an altogether pretty good job at playing it! But only on the last run. I'm all up for people coming up with their own story when they play game, honestly. It goes well with being able to name your units whatever you like. But yeah, good job! Man, if you saw some of the later chapters, that sht gets pretty crazy! Wars of attrition REALISTIC WARFARE SIMULATION GET AT ME
  7. You know, I have half a mind to draw a parody of the Awakening box art, but with people like Zephiel, Uther, Bram, Malcolm, Faratrass, Theln, Astrea, Valentine, Ash and other such cool characters. Also, holy crap you guys, making Ghast do nearly all of the work! Can't believe you lot!
  8. Alright, I'll wait to see if anyone wants to take it. If anyone knows anyone who might, ask them. Although, as I said, Micro Emblem isn't for everybody. I can just have a 'booth' without a presentation, right? Otherwise, I might just withdraw the game from FEE3.
  9. Hey everyone, emergency here! ...well, not really. Basically, Mangs has said he doesn't have time to LP my game, but I feel like an LP would be the only good way of showing it off. So I would much appreciate it if someone took over and LP'd Micro Emblem for me. However, it isn't as simple as just finding a volunteer, since the game is really rather difficult, plays differently from normal Fire Emblem games, and on top of that doesn't have a story to, for lack of a better word, 'motivate' some players to get through it. So the LPer would need to be someone who focuses on the gameplay, is fairly good at tactics, and won't mind a challenge (including restarts, and plenty of them). If such a person reads this and feels up for the task, um... please?
  10. Just a heads up, I just uploaded a major update to Micro Emblem. If anyone needs it for anything, please download the latest version from the game's topic.
  11. Hey everyone, I just uploaded a major update to this game. See OP for more info. If you tried this game and liked it, but maybe found it frustrating, perhaps you can enjoy this update more! Sadly, once again, old save files are incompatible.
  12. I guess this is the best place for this topic? I dunno. Anyway, as some of you might know, I'm currently working on a Fire Emblem fangame, and a much larger-scale one than Micro Emblem. Sadly real life just won't get off my case these days, so I don't expect it to be finished any time soon. However, while thinking about it recently, I got an idea - I realised that I could feasibly implement a system by which I could add bonus maps to the game after it is released by distributing extra files to the players. These maps could even include things like new characters, new items and new music which wasn't in the game originally. In the case of items, I could even make them obtainable and usable outside of their bonus map. So it would basically be like Awakening's DLC, except free. I realise though that this is a silly idea in some ways - I won't make any money from this, so why not just include these maps in the game in the first place? I do think that it would still be a good way to generate additional hype each time a new map is released, and it would mean I could release the game sooner compared to if I was to integrate the bonus maps into the main game; Then I could design the bonus maps at my leisure, possibly including maps I hadn't even thought of before release. So, what do you think of this? Should I make a DLC system? Would you use it?
  13. Thanks, that sounds like it'll work. I don't have time to try it out right now, sadly, so I won't put the [solved] tag on this yet. I'll try it at the weekend or something. EDIT: It works! Thank you very much, everyone!
  14. Happy Birthday, Yeti! By the way, if Yeti is eligible for this, am I eligible too?
  15. How do I do that, exactly? I found the right (well, so I thought) Nightmare module, but it only lists the actual, well, music as options for the chapter BGM. I guess if I was to forcibly enter some other address in there it would work, but I don't think it will let me do that.
  16. I guess I'll just say exactly what I want to do at this point - I'm programming a Fire Emblem fangame which isn't a hack, and I need sound effects for it. I have already managed to either find or rip most of the sound effects I need, but I'm still missing a good number of magic sound effects. Of course, I could just turn off the BGM and record them straight from the game, but in that case there will always be either a hit or a miss sound effect superimposed on the magic sound effect. I can't think of a situation where you would just hear the magic sound on its own. However, Yeti managed to do it somehow, so I guess it's possible somehow. (No, I can't just steal from Yeti.) If anyone cares, I particularly want the sounds for Aureola, Apocalypse, Excalibur, Luce, Gespenst and the S-Rank tomes from Sacred stones. Does anyone know how I can isolate and/or extract them?
  17. It's not really that exciting. Since programming it from scratch took so much energy, I didn't bother with making many original assets, even less than the crappiest hacks do nowadays. Some mechanics are also missing, like supports. It looks like the GBA games, but plays more like Gaiden. Well, no, more like FE3, I guess. Release is whenever it's finished. Which will be eventually. ...Actually, scratch that, release is Soon™. Oh, speaking of which, I just got an idea. How would you feel if I added hidden Thracia-style supports?
  18. Yes, I'm making a Fire Emblem game with my own engine. In Game Maker, no less. And you win... uhh..... a proverbial cookie?
  19. Ding! That is in fact Magvel.
  20. I'm currently working on a major update to Micro Emblem. It should be ready soon enough. In the meantime, this is another thing I'm working on, and making pretty good progress: Yeah, all I'm showing so far is the title screen, but actually the programming is almost complete, and the assets are mostly in too. Also, I can think of at least one bit of information about the game which you can deduce from this screenshot. (No, it's not the game's title.)
