  1. Never really thought too much about the "Person A asks Person B to kill him/her, but Person B refuses", but this right here makes it sound really awful and dickish.
  2. I'm the kind of gamer that just plays to relieve stress... which means either playing stuff on that won't give me too much trouble or doing all the dumbest most masochistic stuff I can do to someone with my horrible skill level like 100% JRPGs.
  3. I haven't actually played the game, but from what I've seen: - Removal of genderlock on the most infamous examples, the Pegasus Knights and Beserkers. I can finally have a guy run around on a pegasus stabbing things and a girl whacking people with an ax! - Removal of limitless level grinding (unless you have the gold that is :/) - The supports. They're SO much better. The bad ones are still pretty bad, but some of the supports in the game are great - Hoshido and Nohr's atmosphere really appeal to me. - Removal of weapon durability because I'm one of those hoarder players that doesn't touch legendaries ever, even when it's strategically better to do so. - The soundtrack is amazing. I personally love a lot of the themes unlike Awakening where half of the songs just bored me. - The animations for combat are a lot better and flasher. They're not the most practical, but they're fun to watch at least, the butler especially. Especially the butler. BUTLERS.
  4. Wow, this is possibly the longest but most civil discussion I've seen on the Fates subforum during all my times of lurking and actually being a member. Good job everyone! But just to throw my two cents into the discussion, and I agree with Sakurai. In my opinion, skinship is just there for those into it, there's nothing really that important to the story, narrative, or any character development, so it can be ignored without any differences in gameplay. Heck, if it was that important, why do you have the option of removing the building the mechanic occurs in? If anything about a character is mentioned in the skinship, it was probably already seen in a support somewhere. And as for the amie hurting character integrity, it isn't necessarily a problem created by the skinship, but by the S-ranking-every-ending-is-romantic system and the player-worship instead, as characters going against what is established is because of that system applying to everyone. Even then, most of the non S-rank lines are really tame. Sure there might be some exceptions, but there's exceptions for pretty much everything. That could/could not happen from what I've seen... it really depends on what's advertised. If the romance is one of the largest things emphasized, then I could see FE possibly going that way, but even then, I still don't think that'll happen. Even if it does go down that path, it would take a lot more than skinship, a lot more time, and a lot more gameplay impact than what is already present. Please correct me if I'm wrong, but don't only the servants and Camilla (and maybe the younger sisters?) have lines like that during the skinship when you don't have an S-rank with them? Because if so, that explains a lot considering the servants are, well, your servants and Camilla has an unhealthy obsession with you. Also the more I read your arguments Irysa, the more I'm convinced that your main gripe is player worship rather than skinship... tell me if I misinterpreted though. :P
  5. Okay, I have 4 questions regarding skills and how they apply to support units in the different Stances: 1.) Are skills that activate when below 1/2 HP like Awakening still in effect if you're the support unit in an Attack Stance? 2.) Does Sun God heal support units in a Guard Stance or only the main units? 3.) Is the game like Awakening where Rally skills apply to both units in a pair up? 4.) If skills like Deadly Breath or Snake Venom activate after attacking a Guard Stance pair, does it affect both or only the unit out front?
  6. Wait really? Well... I've been lied to then, thanks for telling me.
  7. I want another Professor Layton game really, really bad. I know the series is over, and I do like how the series ended off, but it's just depressing to think that my favorite puzzle game series is over now.
  8. Besides the already mentioned Jakob x Azura, which is actually nice, I thought his supports with Kagerou and Oboro were okay... or I may be remembering wrong. But I'm 99% sure his with Kagerou was actually not bad (not as sweet as Jakob x Azura though) and 50% sure on Oboro's.
  9. Besides the obvious Kamui x Siblings (I haven't read them, but I'm also staying away from Azura x Siblings because it just feels wrong), Most of Elise's are rather bad... mostly due to the fact that Elise is so innocent and everything about the S-ranks feel awful. Zero x Elise is the worst offender in my opinion because of how lewd Zero is and how oblivious Elise is. Some ones with Jakob feel weird too considering it goes from C-A with Jakob being an unbearable ass to "Marry me dammit" at the S-rank. And of course, the woman always agrees because why the hell not, you were a jerk, but now I think I'll spend the rest of my life with you. But that's personal opinion and I don't really understand the full lengths of "anime logic", so hey. F!Kamui x Gunter is also weird. A-rank is all like "I think of you as a Father" and then S-rank goes all marriage and love and stuff. It's just... no.
  10. Wow, this poll man. This is kinda awkward. And that poll title... calm down Rabbattack, something will come eventually, no need to question your humanity and the meaning of life. But really, almost every species is going to have some... uh, "sexy" individuals and some butt-ugly ones, so I voted for almost everyone except for the Gorons (rock-dudes aren't my thing. They're cool bros though, they just sit around sumo wrestling and giving the brohug to end all brohugs), Rito (just the art style... if it were different my opinion would probably change), and the Hobbits (...reasons).
  11. This seems interesting... Can you create one with this image? http://getwallpapers.net/girls-bangs-checkered-clothing-hata-no-kokoro-wallpaper-68185/ And for the text, just use SageOfAnys Thanks in adavance! :3
  12. Gotta give props to Sophie for being able to 1.) Actually pick up and differentiate between different grains of sand and 2.) Actually being able to count that high without losing track. Seriously, she deserves a medal for that. Also that bit on Marx being there is a little weird. They easily could've chosen a dual-route character, and it would've been easier to chose a servant character instead, mostly because I have a hard time imagining Marx sitting around washing clothes.
  13. And then almost everyone died! The end! But wow Jester... that was pretty cold.
  14. I forgot the game was starting again. Also I'm just happy I actually ended up killing someone after ~4 games. Sorry it had to be you eclipse .... and that sounds absolutely horrible out of context.
  15. Oh god, if there was any force that could destroy the universe in a second it would be this. Dang, lots of Lucy and Awakening cast hate here. I'm actually okay with a majority of the cast (except for Emmeryn, Validar, Kjelle, Ricken, F!Morgan, and the previously mentioned Tharja, Cordelia), but I didn't find them that bad. Maybe because I got all the C-A non parent-child supports in the game, because a few of those supports really shed some positive light on characters (or negative light... Frederick x Cordelia's S-support made me despise Cordelia with a passion). And to be honest, I sometimes kinda find it better than some of the GBA games (SOMETIMES), because even after one playthrough of Awakening, I could tell you about the characters a little. I can't really say that about the GBA games. I still don't even know the personalities of about half the cast of Blazing Sword.
  16. I remember watching Nohr Ch. 7 on the Treehouse stream and it featured a pair of Faceless in Guard Stance, so IK really has no reason to not use it.
  17. Yay, hated characters! TIME TO RANT. First off is Rosalina. Why is she so popular now. I actually liked her a lot in Mario Galaxy because she was a mysterious, powerful person with a tragic past was enough to keep me interested for one game, and her appearance in MG2 was pretty much a given, so there's no hate there. But now, she's appearing in literally everything. Mario Kart? Sure, throw her in! Mario Party? The more the merrier! The 2D platformers? Hey, why not! SMASH BROS? That sounds good, right? No, no it isn't. The mystery behind Rosalina was what made her interesting, but now that she's now appearing in pretty much anything with the name "Mario" in it, that mystery about feels pretty much nonexistent at this point. She just feels boring. You could say that I shouldn't expect that much from a Mario character, but I don't care. Rosalina is just annoying to me now. Peach qualifies too (in all the non-RPG games, I actually love her in the RPG games). She's utterly useless, and she's possibly the dumbest, least active game character I can think of. You could literally replace her in most games with a wood board and nothing would change. What bothers me more is that the RPG games SHOW that she can be useful even when she's kidnapped, and that she can fight will still looking elegant and princess-like, yet in all other games she just stands there. Watching. Not doing anything an- GODDAMIT YOU CAN JUMP FROM THAT AIRSHIP AND RUN AWAY JUST FINE, WTH. Tharja and Cordelia are among some of my hated characters, and most of you guys probably know why considering how much those two are hated on here, so I won't be elaborating on them. There's also Porky Minch, and all of you guys probably know why. Lastly there's Bill Hawks. Wow. To be honest, Level 5 did a really good job in making you despise this man with every fiber of you being, because by the end of the game, I just wanted to strangle him. [spoiler=Lots of plot stuff from Professor Layton: Unwound Future] Bill Hawks is a greedy, selfish, power-hungry b****** that shows no remorse for anything he's ever done. Oh, and he's a hypocrite. First off, he decides to go through with a risky time machine experiment with a human test subject in a residential space to sell the technology even though his partner outright told him the machine was unstable and will likely go wrong. And then when said time machine goes haywire and explodes, not only does he destroy the building and kill the test subject, but the explosion destroys an entire block, killing dozens. Somehow, the deal still happens, and then Hawks just uses his new-found wealth to pay off every single news company in England to hide his involvement in the explosion and buys his way into power, eventually becoming the prime minister. And then at the end of the game after Clive, a boy who wanted to get revenge on Hawks because the explosion he caused killed his parents and destroyed his life, is arrested under Hawks orders, he then proceeds to say that all criminals are despicable beings and are the scum of the earth. And he runs off without ever paying for his crimes or acknowledging that what he did ruined the lives of several and just caused everything that happened during the entire game. That infuriates me. And as for other characters I hate, but don't necessarily despise like the ones I listed above: Seiga Kaku - She's the kind of person I would punch in the face in real life. Nergal - He's by far, one of the dumbest villains I've ever seen in a game. Sure he has a tragic backstory, but that doesn't excuse the amount of BS he does in the story. Anise & Airy - They're grouped together because they have the same reason why I hate them: SHUT. UP. Ilia - Those of you who played TP know exactly why. Fi - I don't know if it's just me, but what is exactly so appealing about her? I honestly didn't feel any connection to her throughout the entire game.
  18. This, this is all really disappointing to hear. I was hoping for IK to be unique and challenging in it's own way but apparently it's the exact opposite. To those who played the game already, is there ANYTHING good about the IK gameplay wise that you would say is better than the Nohr and Hoshido routes? Also is it true that the chapter before the final map allows 16 characters but the final map only allows 14?
  19. Considering what we've seen, I actually want to see what armor designs Kozaki can come up with... they could be very interesting and possibly work better with the characters, or they could end up as absolute train wrecks. Either way, it's probably going to end up better than what we have now. Even the more covering armor designs for females still expose their crotch or breasts, which to me is only really tolerable in game if the camera angles decide to be nice. Or if I have battle animations turned off. The art director for the next game better change. Good artists shouldn't be hindered because of this.
  20. What sucks is that Kozaki isn't a bad artist, and as we've seen from his Twitter sketches, he can give the cast average proportions and normal outfits that still look nice. It's just the armor designer(s?) that chooses to be kinda weird with their designs, and Kozaki ends up being the one blamed for most of the stuff going on.
  21. I guess you can say that game went out *puts on shades* with a bang. I'll be leaving. Also congrats Aryabug on your first victory! /in to actually get a second kill after about 4 games. How the hell did I only end up killing one person after all this time.
  22. Me and my stupid mouth.... now only Lettuce is left. ;_; I would say something about the game but I'm afraid I'm just gonna start jinxing things, but I will say that Nightmare has autophobia.
