  1. So, I've been playing Birthright, and... Kaze is dead. He died at the end of chapter 15. I think Kaze is my favorite character in this game so far, and I couldn't be more sad about losing him. He was the absolute coolest. A real bro to the very end. I'm at chapter 20 now, and I'm convinced he's not coming back. His entry in the unit roster even says he's retired. My first question is now that I've let his passing go, is there anything I can do to remember him by? Unfortunately, I never got a statue for him, so I can't build a monument in his honor in my castle. Is there any accessory I can buy that matches his likeness at all? I currently have a level 2 accessory shop.

Now, I had already caught wind of this situation pre-release, but I tried to ignore it. I remember seeing someone say you should get A-rank support between Kaze and the avatar before that chapter in order to save him. Is that true? I remembered that in the back of my head and was aiming for that A-rank, but I only got to B-rank. It felt like it became really obvious with how the C and B supports lead up to what he ultimately revealed to the avatar before his death. Maybe he reveals the truth in the A support to save himself the trouble later.

Finally, what about Conquest? I'm playing that next and I want to make sure Kaze stays alive. Does he have a chance of dying there too? If so, can it be prevented, and how?

Try not to spoil any story details if you can.

  2. I'm happy for Rena Strober. It was a complete turn-around for me between the initial reveal and the version in Smash Bros. I absolutely love her voice now.

And yeah, it's pretty common for video game directors to not show its actors and actresses the game when they record for lines. It's a real shame, and it's probably why Effie's voice is so wrong. -_-

  3. I live in California and the Gamestop near me is releasing the game on Thursday at 9pm (as it's technically midnight on the east coast then). It's pretty awesome, actually. >.> (If you live in California you should definitely call your local GS)

Good to know there are more out there releasing at midnight!

My GameStop just called me this morning to confirm that they will have a midnight release and they'll be distributing games by 11:30 PM CST. I'm so excited!

To be honest, I'm like some of you here. I never expected a midnight release for Fire Emblem, but I'm so hyped up I couldn't help but ask anyway. I still don't think very many people will show up for it like it's Pokemon or Smash Bros., but that just means I can get it all the sooner! :D I will be thoroughly surprised if I go there and see a long line waiting for Fire Emblem, but will be more pleasantly surprised than anything because that just tells me that, even though this is anecdotal, Fire Emblem has some respectable popularity in my city. :)

  4. I'm more concerned about the change in name to Kana.

I guess they want to unjapanize the names but I'm still a bit salty about it, probably due to how much I like Kana (and differentiate it from Kanna, oh well)

(Are there males named Kana though? Huh...)

Either that or Treehouse thinks people will mispronounce "Kanna" as "Can-uh". Now, people will mispronounce "Kana" as "K-nuh"!

  5. I believe that she said petting was still in, but only with your spouse. Also, I think she said the blowing part if from removing steam, not waking them up? That you rub their face to wake them up? Or like tap the screen.

Yeah, that's what I said. lol I just said "after a hot bath" instead of "to remove steam". She mentions that you get a prompt to do it after they have just taken a bath. You tap the screen to wake them up.

Honestly, this is the best outcome. I only wanted to do this kind of stuff with my spouse anyway. I can't just be feeling up on anybody.

  6. New news, new thread, right?

According to this hostess from GameSpot, you can touch the face of your spouse to wake them up, and you can blow in the mic to cool them off after a hot bath. She's rather vague on if you can still do the petting mini-game.

  7. Sorry if this has been asked before or answered somewhere else, but was the Special Edition pre-order only, or will it be able to be bought in stores?

Right now, it's pre-order-only. Whether you can find one on store shelves on release day is unknown.

  8. I'm pretty sure she's 14 at most. That could be "adult" by their standards. Awakening had Lissa, Ricken, and Donnel, all around the age of Elise and Sakura.

This is just a poorly written way to say "act your age" and a means to make you think it's okay for her to marry.
