Syrene is the best for me because I give all the favoritism to her. This is based on my personal playthroughs.

I was training Dorothy and Klein but I figured Sue should be enough :). I'm having trouble picking only 10 characters for endgame :( I really like almost every character, this reminds me of Sacred Stones too many favorites and few slots :/. At least Sacred Stones let me pick two more people.

That is my planned team but I also think I should put Lilina to use and I really like Ray, Noah, and both Wendy and Alan are at level 20 ready to promote. I also like having two fliers so its either Tate or Miledy, but Zeiss looks good too. I'm having a hard time here :(.

[Why is Micaiah is often called a Mary Sue?]

I don't think she's a bigger Sue than Ike, she can't kill the final boss because he has to do it even though she is tied much more to the plot than he is. He had that same exclusivity with Ashnard, and he had his own game already.

All the lordesses have to share their importance with a lord, not one has had a game all to herself. Ike has PoR to himself and in Radiant Dawn he is treated as a more important lord. Flawless everything, and Micaiah is treated like a pawn by Pelleas.

Oliver has staff utility, which makes him somewhat useful. Unlike Fiona, Lyre, Meg, and Astrid, who have almost nothing good going for them.

well there is already a bunch of other healers :). If I kill Oliver someone in my team is gaining exp.

The only reason I get him is to give his tome to Micaiah.

IMO Fiona > Lyre.

the transformation brings Lyre down.

Fio has more ulitity and even though she'll have trouble hitting she can use javelins.

Worst: Ike in endgame gets hit by spirits and gets killed

Haar got killed in 2-E by a thunder sage twice

Its not that I don't like Haar, in fact I only dislike Shinnon and Soren out of the entire cast.

I've overused him too much before so this time he's only meatshield until my main team members are stable or if he starts dying.

but knowing myself I'll probably end up using Haar anyway :3

I usually give Blossom to somebody with paragon or one of my mages.

Laura is still useful in part 3, everyone gets hurt and Micaiah can't heal them all by herself.

giving 1 bexp to Volug requires more than feeding 90bexp to Fiona.

He doesn't suck (@ Volug) but he'll start to be less useful after part 1 or endgame part 1.

Haar is only a bronze equipped meatshield for me until he starts dying.

Nobody, not even Haar, is going to perform spectacularly when equipped with bronze weapons. And if he "starts dying", at least within three turns, you're doing something wrong. You can heal him anyway.

thats my goal, I only need him to weaken enemies so Marcia gets the kills, as chapters go by he'll start dying.

I give him iron not bronze, Ike has bronze + disarm. :)

My worst, as in my endgame team is Sothe, he's useless unless bane activates.

Worst to raise Lyre and Kyza, poor availability :(.Astrid & Fiona are useful for their skills, Fio can rescue and Astrid can easily gain exp without getting attacked. Meg has availability at least.

Worst waste of space Volug in 1-E, Ranulf, and SOTHE. I don't like forced characters that are not lords. Especially when they are forced for many chapters.

I've also used him way too much, in my deleted file and first playthrough. In my current playthrough I am avoiding him at all costs, and I have never given Kieran or Makalov a chance.

Thats why I'm picking Fiona over Titania, to try and give her a chance.

I feel Astrid is underrated, in 2-3 she gains about the same exp in hitting enemies while the others gain around that amount in kills, she won't be doubling but she has good hit.

I liked both so its troubling me who to use :( but Gonzale's recruiting conversation was "awww" ish and Geese was just random funny, so Gonzales > Geese imo.

I was going to use Treck but using more than three cavies, when I'm only ending up with one is unfair for the rest of my team :(. Also Percival looks promising, I'm thinking about leaving all the cavies for him :/.

I'm always biased against other classes, pegasus riders and falco knights are in my priority so I'm most likely going to use Yuno :3. Then I saw Zeiss, he reminds me of Cormag :( and I <3 Cormag.

I also hate it that only 10 characters can participate in the endgame especially when I like all the roster (except Marcus, Karel and Roy).

I like Noah's personality :) but yes Lance is a better choice, Ray is so adorable :3 his >=] face makes me want to main him, screw Lilina she looks like Mia and I arena abused her too much. I'm using him and Sophia.
