  1. I see you all mention this a lot, so you might be interested in this freeware game titled Captive Princess where you play as the titular princess and indeed beat the intended hero to the punch. Her methods of escape leave her increasingly rugged, but she never needs to fight mano a mano (and indeed, such methods were futile for even the hero). The game did indulge itself, however, in taking a few extra twists on top of the basic premise . . . but one of the endings (at least, the one that I know of) does result in her forging the happy ending with the hero that she wanted all on her own.
  2. Anybody try testing inheritance vs. stat boosters on Lunatic mode? What if child stat inheritance is capped in such a way so that they can't exceed what their parents would have naturally received with fixed level up rates? (This would make testing Mozume's child a bit obnoxious if so . . .)
  3. I don't know. Most pigeons I know are pretty bird-brained. They seem to ignore science entirely! (Satirical post in a satirical thread.)
  4. Happy birthday to this fine fuzzy fellow, then!
  5. Gangrel could hardly care less about Emmeryn. At most, he found it amusing that his luminous bargaining chip was willing to self-terminate. All he really wanted was the Fire Emblem so he could enact some vaguely-specified revenge on Ylisse--and we all know that he'd have been backstabbed by Aversa the moment he laid hands on it, anyway.
  6. Finally, a general FE series thread I can have an opinion on! . . . come on guys, I can't be the only one who thinks "BS Fire Emblem" is the worst possible title of all time, can I? FE4 is a very exaggerated example of Fire Emblem in general. The series has many ups and many downs, and that game even more so. That being said, I would argue that much of its appeal lies in the fact that when you load up a game titled freaking "Genealogy of the Holy War", you know you're going to be in for something epic.
  7. "Process". As in, Skill% chance that Sol will process on a unit that has it (and no proc skills that take priority over it). There is diminishing returns on stacking proc skills, so unless more on the Nohr skill comes to light I will become unimpressed with Dark Blood as a whole. White Blood is the better class (and in fact the best class for the Avatar's unique weapons), and Draconic Curse alone will probably have a pretty hard time selling me the class alone on the third route. That being said, Copycat Puppet, Nohr, (free space), Flamboyant, and Hoshido would be a pretty insane third route skill setup with a supporting character with a package like, say, Breaking Sky and Lethality. ADD: While we're on this train of thought . . .
  8. While I don't know about whoever her child is (inheriting Villager would clearly be the superior scenario), she would pass her Bowman class via Marriage and Buddy seals.
  9. CCP can (and should!) be used outside the Puppeteer class. The way I see it, if you're willing to spare the extra Parallel Seal, she could reclass to Elite Ninja at Singer 25 (to get the Ninja base skills out of the way, snag Lethality, and skill up Kunai), Puppeteer at Elite Ninja 13, and finish as Falcon Warrior at Puppeteer 15. (Alternate route: Singer 25 -> Puppeteer 15 -> Golden-kite Warrior 19 -> Falcon Warrior. Skill-hogging route: Singer 25 -> Elite Ninja 13 -> Puppeteer 15 -> Golden-kite Warrior 19 -> Falcon Warrior.) Much like you I can only theorycraft for the time being, but outside of extreme situations maybe (like Apotheosis), being able to take two productive actions of your own will usually outclass giving your one action to another unit. Much like Olivia is at her personal best as a Falcon Knight with Galeforce, Azura will be at her own best as a Falcon Warrior with Copycat Puppet.
  10. Singer is absolutely her optimal class for early-to-mid-game, when your focus is still on training up the units you want to focus on. She effectively accelerates exp gain while still effectively gaining a steady amount on her own--not just for singing but also for being a potentially clutch support unit for Attack Stance, if you decide you don't want to neglect her combat training (which I wouldn't). I would definitely level her up to at least level 25 for access to the Voice of Peace skill (as well as to need one fewer Master Seal). All that being said, though, this poll is measuring end classes, so as you might suspect Singer is not what I chose for that. Just looking at the stats, I have reason to believe that Basara is the best ending class in the game (never mind that early access to Spellcaster for Fortune is also pretty absurd for anybody), so I will basically be choosing that invariably for the "optimal" question. However, practically speaking, Copycat Puppet is indeed a real thing, so Avatar aside she is probably best marrying a Ninja and instead end up as the second-best ending class in the game: Falcon Warrior, something she awesomely has native access to. She'd essentially be flying around, doubling all the things . . . twice. Who would pass up something like that on their ending team? . . . apart from everybody who just voted "Singer" in every poll? To me, it's clear as day which is more valuable. ADD: Peg Warrior is Azura's secondary class tree. Therefore she inherits nothing from buddying Hinoka.
  11. Still holding out for Kirby in Mario Kart, ever since this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bZBn6DugQiE
  12. That's an awfully perverse sense of balance. Plus, IIRC Kirby and Pikachu have a distinct leg-up in that game simply on account of having recoveries that don't suck.
  13. I'd honestly be much quicker to recommend +Lck instead of -Lck, particularly to anyone with more concern about the campaign than about the post-game (i.e. Conquest). Especially with those "criticals do extra damage" weapons around, Luck is perhaps undervalued now more than ever. (Granted, it's pretty easy to undervalue something often made available at double the quantities of its peers, but still.) Even if +Lck isn't your thing, I'd still avoid -Lck. Conversely, I'm not as much a fan of the 1:1 point stats (HP, Str, Mag, Def, Res) as I usually find the other stats to contribute more. The offensive stats (often Mag in particular, as high-Res opponents tend to be rarer than the opposite) especially are always an easy ditch when concerned about your own survivability, as you can always just use an alternate means of attack (or even not, if their low defensive stat happens to be a more exploitable weakness than your low corresponding offensive stat).
  14. Wasn't that character transgendered? Whereas Foleo makes it loud and clear where he can that he is a cisgendered man, simply because of his culturally dissonant tastes? I see no reason why they won't keep him as-is.
  15. Ignoring Mario's specials, all excluding the fireball having KO potential in the right situation: I recall B-air being more than a solid KO move, F-air can technically KO on account of being a meteor, and his freaking head is invincible during that up-smash if you're foolish enough to try and approach him from above anyway. Conversely, Doc isn't so great at punishing low recoveries when you remember that he himself has that whole second-worst-vertical-recovery thing. I do have to ask, though: is the sheet's hitbox longer but narrower than the cape like in Melee? Because if so, that might be one redeeming quality . . .
  16. Oh, right . . . bloody near the whole main cast is blood-related this time around, as opposed to Awakening where I only had to worry about Chrom and Lissa's kids (solution: the former is forced, so prevent the latter). :| It's enough to make me want to make all my runs childless in the first place.
  17. I have to second the +Spd/-Res recommendation, as well as the notion that you're best off playing a White Blood if you really want to use your Dragonstone. Herb Merchant is probably best Avatar second class almost regardless. So few characters have access to it at all, even though the promotes have some of the best skills in the game (including Copycat Puppet, which is basically Galeforce 2.0).
  18. I have a question regarding Draconic Shield. Does it use the Luck of the savee, or the saver? Basically, if Kamui were mothering Midoriko, which would work better with Lucky Charm: Draconic Shield, or Hoshido? (Also, if anybody cares, does it stack with Pavise/Aegis, or can only one damage-halving skill proc at a time?)
  19. It's pretty much best-used by White Blood units (especially Kanna, as broken as they are, as they regenerate while holding one), even if your avatar is +Spd (which is not a bad idea if you're on a route with access to White Blood in the first place). It's a clutch source of Magic damage, and while it can't double, it can still critical and proc skills like Dragon Fang and Broken Sky, which incidentally have synergy with the Hoshido skill. Otherwise, why aren't you simply using Tomes/Spells?
  20. It was possible to get 100% Vengeance and Armsthrift in Awakening, so I don't see why 100% skill activations with Flamboyance+Hoshido wouldn't be possible.
