  1. Eyup. Tier lists, especially this early on, are reliable for one thing and one thing only: information on what other people are playing.
  2. Swordfighter actually got a lot of buffs in 1.0.8. Mostly trimming the excessive end-lag they had on a lot of their attacks. So, you know what to do. Don't let your dreams be dreams!
  3. 1321 Swordfighter (the one that I play) is actually surprisingly solid. Gale Strike alone is an incredibly powerful option that, among other things, simply says "no" to most projectiles and all dash attacks, forcing most opponents to approach from the air (where you have more options open up, such as intercepting with an upward-angled Chakram). The recovery is admittedly the least bad of Swordfighter's options (barring maybe switching out Chakram for the Ike Side-special), but Gale Strike and Blade Counter both give them a surprising amount of ledge game, since both moves stall your descent when used mid-air. The character is probably not best of the best, but they're not nearly as bad as you think, either. Especially with the quality Swordfighter costumes coming out, I highly recommend trying it. It's a really fun archetype to play, and one I would love the chance to pull out more often!
  4. Honestly, the fact that criticals do triple damage in FE alone is enough to make me value Skill and especially Luck more highly than the simple 1:1 stats.
  5. Not in my experience. From what I've seen, Charizard tends to not care how high his precents get, simply because he's so heavy and has two sources of super armor, anyway. Also, speaking of super armor, combos can be pre-empted (or even broken) with Rock Smash. Proper use of Flamethrower, jabs, F-airs, and U-tilts in addition to that should make it fairly simple to rack up your opponent's percents, which is all a Charizard should really care about. I should note that it's far easier to score KOs with Charizard than with Sheik. Basically don't let yourself fall into a situation where you need to use Charizard's awful recovery and you should be fine.
  6. Mii Fighter sizes are pretty poorly balanced. You always, always, always invariably want the shortest possible Mii, as this ups the amount of knockback required for the Mii to make lethal contact with the top blast zone much more than it takes away from the damage. In fact, you can maintain your damage just as well with a short/wide Mii (what I use for my Swordfighter, justified because he's based on my Tarutaru character), as IIRC thickness isn't nearly as important as height (so you may as well go for the heaviest anyway).
  7. Regarding K. Rool (side note: anybody else notice both the character costume sets are of royalty?), what is the more likely situation is that he ended up as a runner-up on the Smash Ballot and got a costume as compensation for his number of fans. This being said, I am really curious when the next character announcement is going to be.
  8. Overpopular != Overpowered. A few very highly skilled players really like their Sheiks. But I don't think that the character herself is really all that, and is actually overrated on account of herd mentality/follow the leader. She's certainly nowhere near Diddy's pre-1.0.6 level, at any rate. I wonder how long Yoshi, the actual best character, will skate by before being noticed enough to be nerfed. He's been one of my mains since day one so that would really suck for me . . . The X set comes in two parts, so you can make a Gunner with the X Armor and wear a different piece of headgear (or even none at all, if you were so inclined).
  9. I don't know about you guys, but that costume looks perfectly Chromulent to me.
  10. The thing about Casual mode (and probably the sole internal justification for Phoenix mode) is that while you don't lose your units, they do lose any exp they might have accumulated during the map. So, a particularly poor or reckless player could be capable of painting themselves into a corner unless they do a bunch of grinding. In a way Phoenix mode reminds me of Freedom Planet's Casual difficulty, where you practically have to make an effort to lose a life in order to do so. That's a different game in a different context, though.
  11. Can Nintendo reprint Robin already? . . . and probably Charizard, while they're at it?
  12. Isn't that just chamomile tea?
  13. You clearly mean FFIII. Also yeah, that, in addition to basically anything from Atlus, as mentioned.
  14. Kaze may or may not be a valuable player here, not just as Midoriko's father but because he gives an effectively free Miracle to anyone he supports. Of course, he'd need to marry Sakura or a Priestess Corrin to have access to Miracle himself, but then, that would be required for giving Midoriko Miracle, anyway!
  15. Can I vote War Priestess for Nohr playthrough (like Water Mage said)? (Side note: Reverse Yumi exists if you desire to slaughter Mages.)
  16. Really? The legendaries (specifically the ridiculous sheer number of them) were actually one of my myriad problems with Gen IV. Gen I just had a legendary trio, an endgame legendary, and only one mythical. Gen II mostly repeated that formula, except the endgame legendary was made version-specific (and you got the other version's endgame legendary at level 40). It started getting a little out of hand in Gen III with the Regi trio, the weather trio, and two mythicals in addition to the version-specific endgame legendary, but then Gen IV only expanded further on that . . . I guess this is what I'm trying to say here.
  17. Which is actually incredibly disappointing when you consider that she was the well-animated focal point in most of the trailers.
  18. RIP headphone users. Related: https://vine.co/v/ehLOaIMhv5r
  19. Combat cheerleaders confirmed. Except Lazward can only really learn Rally Skill (+Movement with Dark Falcon) but hey, who's counting.
  20. Actually a valid point. Water is an incredibly common Pokémon type. Which would make the Grass starter consistently the correct choice if the Grass type didn't suck so much . . . Blaziken is undoubtedly the coolest Fire/Fighter, while Infernape the least cool. But Flying and Psychic both beat Fighting, and Cyndaquil is the best starter anyway.
  21. The only way it could possibly be worse than Limit Breaker is if access to it was paid DLC. But it isn't. So it's not.
  22. I see this argument a bunch, but it tends to overlook that physical copies seldom last forever, either. The liability of maintaining the copy falls squarely on the owner, and should that copy become lost or broken, the "owner" owns nothing anymore. These are all downsides that digital merchandise mitigates. It minimizes the need to ever re-buy, as all purchases are tied to your records, as opposed to a tiny piece of plastic.
