  1. Because gameplay should trump flavor every single time? There is literally no reason why holding ZR shouldn't prompt my inkling to make continuous bucket swings. At least for the brushes, holding ZR prompted a switch into painting mode. The Sloshers have no such excuse.
  2. Oh, I see, so the correct answer to Reverse Club (on the offensive) is Killer Lance. Got it, thanks. :P I'm guessing it would be at least as unwise to send a Berserker after a Mjolnir-wielding Basara as it would to send a Basara after a Reverse Club-wielding Berserker. Because there is no way that Berserkers are actually as good as people are making them out to be. Stat-wise, they aren't nearly as bad as Sorcerers, but they are definitely closer to Sorcerer than they are to Basara.
  3. Either way, both units will be using Copycat Puppet, so all I'm seeing is that it is a matter of who can attack whom first, a.k.a. rocket tag. This is where Tome access becomes a tactical advantage, and Basaras would probably be carrying Reverse Spells to get the jump on Lance-wielders, anyway.
  4. The one thing that kills any chances of me using a Slosher is that, for no good reason, it isn't an automatic weapon. If I wanted my hand to cramp, I would use a brush! Splatling is very promising, however.
  5. Anything specific in either (or, if you're feeling bold, both) of those categories you would like to point out in particular?
  6. Reverse Club seems like a good defensive tactic, until the Basara walks up with a Brave Lance and destroys the Berserker with a Breaking Sky proc.
  7. They were so close to getting it right the first time around, too, with the effective near-total elimination of gender-restricted classes in the base game (the biggest functional discrepancy being Mountain Priest vs. War Priestess, but even then they both access the same skills), I don't know why they felt the need to ruin it with all this DLC garbage. (I don't know why they didn't decide to make all the advanced clergy Club-wielders, if nothing else than to make nuns with axes into a tradition.)
  8. Really? I'm honestly not that impressed with Berserker's stats nearly as much as Basara's. In fact, a Tome-wielding Basara would probably eat a Berserker for breakfast!
  9. Who the heck makes tea out of tomatoes? O_o;
  10. Both, actually. I mean, of course the implementation is going to be bad when you include a character whose freaking theme is titled "You May Call Me Marth".
  11. Controllers are the superior control scheme. Keyboards are the correct control scheme.
  12. While I make it a point to end matches as quickly as I can (barring when playing as Robin, as an unfortunate truth of that character), 8 minutes for three stocks is perfectly acceptable. 10 is a bit much, but I find that preferable to too little. Re: springs and down-specials: I've noticed something similar on the Boxing Ring stage with Counter-type down-specials. The specials would cancel your upward momentum, and the spring effect would cancel the special, in an endless button mashing-fueled cycle. It's more amusing than anything else (especially since Rush and Sonic's spring disappear pretty quickly after use, anyway).
  13. Lucina was literally the worst character choice to make it to the Smash roster. Minus the tipper, she is basically Marth's carbon copy in literally every way imaginable. Melee!Roy wasn't half the clone that she is, and Melee is infamous for its abuse of clone cast members. Dr. Mario is at least unique with a combination of Sheet and Tornado, and Dark Pit has HURRLECTROSHOK (though he does clock in at 2nd worst). Lucina adds literally nothing to the game but Awakening fanservice costumes. They didn't even bother making her customs any different from Marth's, for crying out loud!
  14. By ZUN's own admission, SA was designed to make the player hate it, so . . .
  15. It is very annoying to execute, you're right. It's why I typically don't bother. PCB is difficult enough as it is; I don't have the kind of skill to milk something like the Yuyuko fight. Which one is Headbanging? I was done with DDC before there was much of an Engish patch.
  16. My real-time reaction: "Oh. Luma jab lock. Okay, whatever, that will get patched anywWWWHHHAAATTT???"
  17. For PCB Hard, I have 496M with MarisaA, though technically I also have 600M with SakuyaB, but I've not even cleared the game with her yet, and it's been so long since I've last had a lot of practice with this game that it would take me quite a while to do so, I'd imagine. If anything, I'd want to at least have a clear be my top MarisaB score first, since again, PCB scoring is just stupid. (Top MarisaB score was 435M, slaughtered by Yuyuko fight.)
  18. Re: new information: Dat Splatfest modifier change. Maybe it will be a bit less of a popularity contest? (Notably, Roller Coasters won the last NA Splatfest in spite of being the less popular team.) An Inkzooka nerf? I would not have listed it even in my top 3 special weapons in the game. Whatever, doesn't affect me. :P Dat Special Charge Up buff. I may be wanting to reroll my Crazy Arrows for triple SCU instead of my current double Ink Saver Main single Special Charge Up, as I have plenty of Ink Saver Main on other pieces of gear, and SCU was already one of the better non-unique abilities . . .
  19. Mostly true. Items I know to be true are enumerated below. #3. In spite of the show's message, some people can't get over themselves regarding the whole lesbian space rocks concept, and other people are in a tissy that there is only 1/2 of a male-pronouns gem in all of canon existence. I wouldn't be sure which group is worse, except I know that they do have some overlap, effectively making that question moot. #4 (and by extension the final item). Pearl is a . . . complex . . . character. That being said I do not think that "salty" is how I would describe her. #5. Some forget what Abraham Lincoln said about believing everything you read on the internet. Combine that with the GIFT (not that Penny Arcade is exactly a bastion of morality itself, but they describe that particular concept succinctly enough), and you have some problems, to say the least. #6. This is a relatively minor item in the grand scheme of things. Episode synopses are (perhaps purposefully) vague, and screenshot leaks (while a more considerable offense) are few and far between--and you can prevent yourself from being spoiled pretty easily by staying away from fandom-related topics, anyway. #7. I can't help but wonder whether for every morally depraved person, there is an equal but opposite morally overzealous person. #8. And the burns are indeed hilarious. #9. Apparently, according to this thread. The first I've heard of it, to be honest.
  20. Scoring is stupid in PCB though. XD Like, my Hard 1cc with MarisaB is only my 5th-highest score. There was a run that ended at Stage 5 that had a higher score than it (and is 3rd overall). Not to mention that scoring basically means you're playing PadsB by default. Very good run, though! Almost made mine look like garbage. Which MarisaB unfortunately is in this game, but I still like it.
  21. Speaking from plenty of experience, you're going to find terrible people in pretty much every subset of people. That is one of the unfortunately one of the facts of life, which is why you never delve too deep into the rabbit hole of fandom. I will still argue that Steven Universe is the most important show on television right now. It is a much stronger, positive force that the world needs than the activities of a handful of people who seem to miss the point entirely. If it were me, I'd have left a review like "Was the perfect place to stay to get away from it all for a bit and rekindle my relationship, but there wasn't much on TV. 4.5/5."
  22. Even if this was the case, the number of gems required (247) is very probably dangerously close to the maximum number the game's memory would actually allow you to have (255). So, you would probably be better off forging in a manner similar to what was described, anyway. Either way, your army should not be using +7 weapons for quite a while.
  23. But then ZUN made someone even stupider than Utsuho with Yoshika . . . This is because fairies age super-slowly or something like that. She remembers being there last time it happened, childish as she is, so it's probably not unreasonable to assume she's something like 110 years old, but that being more like 11 in fairy years.
