Is the localization that bad ?
From what I have seen and gathered overall for most part it's an okay if not a solid localization (or outright bad according to salty people). However, when you check the details of the localization and your mileage may vary (YMMV) comes into play it depends what you find acceptable and what not.
Since I'm still waiting for my EU release date I can't speak much other than my observation of what people have said over the net. Still I'm curious if EU ver of Fates will be largely the same as NA or not.

OwainxLucina was listed as Companions and had all the romance cut out of their S-Support though.
Yet when you paired them up and entered a tile and similar they still acted as if they were married couples and are lovely dovey. So not everything were cut.
And I have never understood what is the big deal with 1st cousin marriages. Other than US the rest of the world are indifferent about it.

No Xander x Sakura support? Bummer, I guess I have to wait. Either way thank you all for doing this. This gives me some nice pairing ideas for my playthroughs.

I believe the European release date was announced 10 days after the American release.
So if we want to be optimistic I guess we will get an announcement sometime this coming week but I guess more realistic time will be the first week of March since by that time Bravely Second is already released. They don't want to destroy the hype the Bravely Second have building up. It will also be a great time for a Nintendo Direct and the release date will be sometime end of April or early May. However, if no news arise these coming two to three weeks I believe will not get any fates till June/July at the earliest... A full year after the JP got it. Great...
I guess I have to thank NoE we at least getting Bravely Second before the muricans. With that I have at least something to play and I probably should check my 3DS backlog along with my other backlog I have gathered up on my PC to spend the time till I get fates...

The European release for Awakening got announced after the game was released in America, if I'm remembering correctly.
I was about to ask the question how was back during awakening days. Then the question arise when was it then? Couple of days or weeks after? I have no idea since I jumped the hype train in march then when it already had a release date.

I plan to have at least two play through so I can play both sexes in all routes.
For Female Corrin it will be Xander and Ryoma in respective Conquest and Birthright. I'm still undecided who to pick in revelations though. Biggest problem I dunno who to pick since I know so little about the characters and I don't know how much I want to know. Just who will it be for the golden path. Only thing I know I have excluded 2nd gen chars since I always had this bias that 1 gen should marry 1st gen and 2nd gen with 2nd gen. All I know both Laslow and Odin are high on the list since I know these character very well from Awakening xD
For Male Corrin is funny since I planned to marry him with Azura on all 3 routes but thanks I threaded to deep into spoiler territory it will now only be reserved for revelations cuz of said spoilers. I read that with male avatar there will be uneven set of mothers and it will exclude one of the children if you decide to marry him with one of the 1st gen with exception of Flora, Reina, Scarlet and Anna. Or am I wrong in this regard? Since I have my bias mention above I rather avoid marrying the 2nd gen chars. Which will be a problem for me since it's a fight between Selena and Nyx in Conquest. For Brithright I honestly have no idea since there is a lot of good options to choose from...

The direct specify spring and summer release so fates 98% likelihood will get a release date. However, I sure hope to God it won't be in June but April. While we got awakening one year after the Japanese release but we also have to factor in we also got it two months after the US release. I rather hope they emulate two month after US rather one year after JP release...
The waiting game is killing me...
