Is it really non-canon? I mean, here we have a much weaker and calmer Grima talking. The Grima we end up seeing in Awakening is either already at full power, or is nearly at full power.

I mean, it could be canon. It could not be. Or maybe it's both at the same time?

We can also say Xander in tight swimming trunks smacking people with a giant Lilith Floatie, Leo using a tome that spits tomatoes at people's faces and Chrom crushing naughty heroes' heads with a Sack-o'-Gifts is canon, too.

and i wouldn't necessarily be against any of those

Love that design too, especially how it's to display that Grima is so above humans that he has no physique where he has to truly touch the ground with his dragon body.

Yeah, that was one aspect I really liked about Grima. Overall, I really liked the Grimleal aesthetic, to be honest.

  2. Tellius and Blazing Sword.

Still waiting for Ashnard to join his limited merges brethren to complete my flying villains brigade. Still waiting for Sephiran to be a lame staff unit I know they're probably gonna make him. Still waiting for Nasir and Kurthnaga to be a TT reward non-loli dragon. Still waiting for Rath and Heath and Wil and Kent and Sain and pretty much everyone else.

  3. I thought Grima had a cool dragon design. Kind of irked such a decent design was wasted on a villain, I personally feel, had no real threatening presence.

Never played SoV and don't particularly care to, so any characterization there is lost on me.

I sort of like the personality given in Heroes, despite being non-canon. His VA really sells it as well. I do think some fans take Heroes' characterization too far and make Grima a little too sympathetic, but it's not like I dislike it, am repulsed by it or anything like that.

I also want to summon him with a nature other than a -DEF in Heroes; I will even take -ATK at this point in exchange. My summoner support can only do so much in patching up his defense.

    That's it.

  4. I started a new account recently to test all the things I've learned over the course of playing FEH. My five star heroes as of 08.02.2018 are:

    1. Brave Lyn (Neutral)
    2. Elise (+SPD -DEF)
    3. Summer F!Corrin (+ATK -SPD)
    4. Summer A!Tiki (+HP -DEF)
    5. Legendary Lyn (Neutral)
    6. New Years Camilla (+ATK -RES)
    7. Fjorm (Neutral)
    8. Legendary Ike (Neutral)

I have three out of four legendary heroes to make teams for Arena Assault. I wanted a fire one for musical reference, but I have play with the units the RNGoddess gave me.

  5. My favorite FE quote will always be this one between Ike and Ena from PoR, Ch. 21, "Without a King."

    Spoiler

    Ena
...I share your desire to see this conflict end. So rather than see you travel to Crimea to fight Ashnard, I felt it would be much faster for me to defeat you and your army here. Don't you agree?

    Ike
That's one way to look at it. The problem is that I'll never let you do as you please with Crimea!

    Ena
We cannot have it both ways. We both want what is in our own interest, and that is why we have conflict. If neither one of us will yield, our conflict will continue until only the stronger of us remains. I have my own reasons for fighting...And I will see you fall.

Followed by her determined and somewhat cocky battle initiation quote:

    Spoiler

    Ena
If you had wished to extend your short life span, then you should not have appeared before me.

  6. Took my piddly 126 orbs, went in for L!Ryoma and W!Lissa and ended up with a +ATK -SPD Exalted Chrom and a +ATK -DEF W!Lissa. Both are now the base units and sitting at +1.

I have about 43 orbs left and I want to dip back in to pull another W!Lissa or, interestingly enough, try to pull a F!Corrin to give Dark Breath to M!Kana. But, I think I'm gonna wait until those 1-day banners show up and try to get a 5* one to avoid having to dish out 20k feathers.

All in all, this legendary summoning session was decent. I'm satisfied with what I got.

I also get the feeling most dungeon floors are randomly generated, but don't take that from me as 1000% true

I think only certain important floors in the dungeons are fixed, but the rest cycle through a set number of randomly generated layouts, if that makes sense.

Am I the only one feeling like this game desperately needs more challenges?  I was thinking about the changes to arena and how it pushes you to use less of the characters you have invested in and use random ones.  Will we ever get a consistent mode (so not a one-off BHB, LHB, or GHB) that challenges you to make the best team possible and use it to play that mode?  A mode where the highest levels would be difficult if you hadn't invested in a really, really good team?  There can be lower level difficulties for newer players.  I guess maybe FEH wasn't made to be that type of game, but it'd be nice to throw a bone to the players who have invested heavily in a few units.  At the moment, there is no reason I need to pull out my +10 Oscar, Soren, or Titania- I can clear everything without needing them.  Sure, they make things easier, but when I could have done it with a 4*+10 Nino...

In my head, arena should be that mode, but top arena forces you to use certain types of units and non-synergistic skills to reach the highest level, and they're going to force us to not use our favorite teams to beat it (focus on bonus units).

In summary... can the next new mode be an actual challenge?  Kind of like Grand Conquest started as before it was made much easier?  Or I might just be a minority...

You're not the only one. When it comes to arena, I almost feel like the game punishes me for not investing into armors and dragons earlier when it comes to arena, if anything. It's probably completely not true, but it's annoying that none of my favorite characters can really get me into the higher arena tiers unless they're highly merged, have certain premium skills or reach a certain BST threshold. I initially thought arena was gonna be that mode where you see wacky, awesome team comps and units, but all I've seen is B!Lyn, Reinhardt, Zelgius, W!Tharja and some dancer so much that I barely even bother with arena anymore.

Now all I've got is the F!Robin GHB to struggle with because it's the only thing I haven't cleared in the game yet. Damn cavalry quest keeps stumping me.

But, I do have some hope IS will add in new modes and/or tweak current modes in the future. If there's anything about FEH I can say, it's that they're been relatively receptive and flexible when it comes to updates, changes, etc.

    i hope

  9. Nope. Play it blind. But if you want to or need to, look up a guide because, to be honest, without spoiling, the way to get some of the endings can be kind of bullbull.

The only reason I knew about the multiple endings was because I can only enjoy playing rpgs with a guide, anyways.

  10. Donnel (T5, A), (+HP -RES) He's literally a meat shield for WoM and Infantry Pulse shenanigans, equipped with Berkut's Lance, Mirror Strike 3, Guard and QR. He tanks a hit from B!Lyn or Reinhardt and lets his son, Gerome, teleport in to demolish them. Or he kills them himself because he's bawse like that.

Xander (T5, B), (Neutral) My OG red cavalier wall. He's still invaluable, and I tend to default back to him as a crutch for certain hard maps. Thinking about merging him up and giving him Steady Stance for his unparalleled service to my cause.

Alfonse (T7, B+) (Neutral) The first of the Askr trio to be upgraded for me, surprisingly. I had an overabundance of green and blue units back then and needed a solid red. Alfonse did his job as well as he could and was recently rewarded with Brazen Atk/Def. Really glad for his weapon refine so he can hopefully do more work.

  11. This isn't a topic promoting F2P or anything like that. And you don't have to be strictly F2P to make a comment, though I suppose it might be easier to answer if you are F2P.

I made this topic because I was feeling a bit proud of myself. I was able to save up 112 orbs since I began saving about a couple weeks ago. This is an achievement for me because, as soon as I scrape up 20 orbs, I spend them impulsively and end up looking silly when new banners release with units I want.

And then I got curious about others. Because I'm sure there are some people who have way more patience and restraint than me; I remember reading someone (either here on SF or reddit) had an account where they spent no orbs and had over 3,000 F2P orbs as result.

So, how many F2P orbs do you guys have saved up?

  12. Personally,  Seliph's (and, by extension Sigurd's, I suppose) artwork always stood out to me. It's really one of the reasons, along with his VA, that I'm investing in him. It's hard to explain why, but I'm a huge fan of how the artist shaded the folds and wrinkles in his clothes, and that I could imagine the weight and feel of it. Kinda wierd, but I don't care.

  13. I'm F2P mainly because I can't afford to buy orb packs, but, if I had the money, you can bet I would have spent all of it to +10 my husbandos. But since I can't, I continuously pray Shigure comes on a future Stance banner and merge up Fae because she keeps invading my barracks even though I don't want her.

People play how they want. I personally like seeing what units whales +10 and what skills they use.

  14. I have a relatively complicated system that really works for me but will probably seem weird to others. But, hey, that's life!

    • Pink: GHB and TT spares/copies.
    • Orange: Units with "bad" natures. Looking to replace but will use if necessary.
    • Yellow: Units with "decent" natures. Looking to replace but will use if necessary.
    • Green: Units with "optimal" natures. Don't know what build to give unit.
    • Aqua: Units with "optimal" natures. Know what build to give but not a priority at the moment.
    • Blue: Current projects.
    • Purple: Units with complete skills set. Looking for merges.
    • Rose: Complete units. Full merges. Rare units (seasonals and 5* exclusives) can be marked with this without full merges.

this new formation thing...it reminds me of a old game....kessen 2. you and your comrades had a little group behind you. you can go defense or rush into the enemy and they lose soldiers. If the enemy lose soldiers then they dont do any damage...it was a lot of fun^^ but that was long time ago on ps2 and ot was not turn based. I want to know how they do it on fe 3h!. And the old guy on the trailer..do you think he is maybe a good one? cause he kills red enemys on the trailer^^

Now that you point it out, it does remind me of Kessen. It would be interesting if FE allowed the same kind of unit autonomy (like you sending units to do things on one side of the map while your controlled unit does something else), but the gameplay is completely different so it wouldn't really work most likely.

Whoever the old guy is, I just hope he isn't the blatant bad guy.
