  1. I'm curious when Trump, or even Bernie, will bring up this recent event.
  2. I just Google'd and got these. http://www.theatlantic.com/politics/archive/2016/01/bernie-sanders-reparations/424602/ http://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/bernie-sanders-reparations_us_56a23623e4b0d8cc1099a7cd https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/wonk/wp/2016/01/21/bernie-sanders-reparations-problem/ http://www.mediaite.com/online/hillary-clintons-campaign-hits-bernie-sanders-over-slavery-reparations-they-dont-support/ Pick which one you trust the most, I guess.
  3. When it's said that Bernie's supporters are "overwhelmingly white", it means his support base is mostly white voters. What is hard to understand about that? https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/the-fix/wp/2016/02/04/why-exactly-does-bernie-sanders-struggle-with-black-and-hispanic-voters-heres-why/
  4. For cleaning the screens, I usually use a microfiber towel.
  5. Bernie going third-party would be a nightmare scenario for the DNC. Wouldn't mind seeing it though.
  6. Not really related to the refugee/migrant situation per say, but it is silly to see European leaders do stuff like this. http://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-35413384 It'd be different if they were visiting Iran itself, but this is their own country! It reminds me of the incidents with the Danish and Charlie Hebdo cartoons. Freedom of speech means being able to criticize or make fun of religion, yet when Islam is the target there's controversy. What's up with that?
  7. Aside from Marx -> Xander, I don't really like them.
  8. I like Corrin a lot so far. The most fun I've had with a Smash character in a while.
  9. I didn't like the plots in any of the routes in Fates. Somehow, Fates managed to have worse writing than Awakening.
  10. It's an option, I'm just throwing it out there. Quite frankly, a person can do a lot worse than joining the military. You can learn new skills, and go back to school with the GI Bill. Depending on the job you have in the military, such as cyber security, you'll have a good chance of getting a good job when you're out. Plus, being a veteran always looks good on a resume. Provided you were never dishonorably discharged.
  11. That's what scholarships, student loans and FAFSA are for. Some jobs also help pay for employees who go back to school. There's also the option of joining the military, and using the GI Bill to go back to school. The minimum you'd have to serve is 4 years active duty, and 4 years in the inactive reserves.
  12. Lots of jobs are required, but unskilled labor is still unskilled labor. They generally have high turnover because they're not the kind of jobs to make a career off of; you work them until you can get something better. If you want to get paid more, you're pretty much expected to go back to school. I mentioned earlier, but I'm not opposed to a minimum wage or anything. It can be adjusted depending on the cost of living in an area, but I think $15/hr is too high.
  13. Go back to school, learn some new skills, build experience, and get a better job?
  14. I'm not sure where you're going with this, since the rich and powerful would want cheap labor. They'd absolutely love more immigrants. Also, if you're dismissing job competition with "try harder", then could you go into your thoughts on the stress immigration puts on education and social services? Here's an example from Northern Virginia.
  15. I'm of the opinion that even our legal immigration needs to be curbed. We take in way too many people each year, predominately from poor countries (just look at our waiting list). It puts stress on local education systems to teach English, social services, and increases job competition. I think we should restrict immigration to highly skilled, educated workers with necessary skills. That would allow us to focus more on making sure our own citizens are employed, and taken of.
  16. I don't oppose a minimum wage, but $15 is too high. Especially considering what minimum wage jobs generally are.
  17. Yeah, so? Let Putin take over getting involved in the Middle East; see how much fun that is. Even Trump has suggested the US should work together with Russia in Syria. The only candidate to think so.
  18. Private business can refuse service to someone based off their sexuality, provided there are no laws that prohibit discrimination based on sexuality. However, only religious institutions in particular should be not be forced to cater to something they don't agree with. If a church doesn't want to perform a gay wedding, or a wedding cake baker doesn't want to make a cake for a gay wedding, they are legally allowed to deny service. Someone like Kim Davis can't get away with refusing service, since she works for the government, which is strictly secular. Now, apparently it is possible for a private enterprise to refuse service based off someone's religion. http://insider.foxnews.com/2015/11/28/muslim-free-zone-florida-gun-shop-owner-andy-hallinan-wins-discrimination-lawsuit-against The judge cited protection by the First Amendment right to free speech, as well as no one being physically injured.
  19. I thought the West valued multiculturalism. Quite frankly, I'm not sure a harmless gameplay feature like this is comparable to an obscene gesture.
  20. If I knew Felicia was going to sound this deep in English, I would've just casted Keith David or Morgan Freeman for the character.
  21. It was an optional feature; feels a waste to just remove it. I'm starting to wonder if Treehouse/Nintendo is too sensitive with their localizations now.
  22. I didn't think Felicia's English voice could manage to be worse than her JP voice, but somehow Treehouse managed to do it.
  23. The problem is that it has long stopped being a refugee crisis. The majority of the people coming now are migrants, particularly from African countries like Eritrea. And unless Europe completely closes its borders, migrants will keep coming. I actually saw a good video earlier that made a good point about poorer countries, immigration, and migrants.
  24. Merkel's open border policy isn't sustainable, and I don't think it was a good idea. Rather than just taking in refugees, her declaration enticed millions of people to leave their countries to come to Germany. She's inviting droves of people from predominately Islamic nations, where the cultures and views are completely different from Germany's (and the West in general). These clashing cultures will only create conflicts in the future. The idea of multiculturalism only works so long as the competing cultures are a minority compared to the host country's national identity and culture. It's not helped by the fact that most of the people coming are young men. Canada is an example of how actual refugees should be taken in, which is taking in primarily women and children that are properly vetted. In addition to all that, there's the economic strain of taking in this large influx of people as well. My own country has a similar problem in illegal immigration.
