  1. Give Gilgamesh 8 weapons and make them transform power rangers style or you're dead to me.
  2. Persona 3. There are others, I just can't think of them off the top of my head D: Oh yeh, and Mega Man X7, but it broke it in a different, which all of you will understand if you've heard anything about the game.
  3. Why is there a poll about Mother on here? Gig. A badass with godly powers who's totally above you and knows it. Doesn't care about anything, but once you get on his good side, he's kinda sweet...in a kinda generic tsundere way. He's also got a design I love and a game that's a fun little hidden gem (like all Nippon Ichi Games). Seriously Nippon Ichi games rock. As SRPG fans you all owe it to yourself to jump onto one of the most complicated SRPGs out there that has one hell of a satirical sense of humor. Go play some Disgaea :3 EDIT: Gah, the system wouldn't let me post a number of cool images D:
  4. DQ 8 and 9 are great. You can get DQ 9 on DS, but the free DLC and expansions may not be available anymore. DQ 8 is on PS2 and its probably the most complex of the games. It's got a lot of great stuff going for it including monster taming and such! It's the game I started on and I love it. DQ 9 is great as well with a great set of stories and fun post game content and multiplayer locally. Too bad DQ8 and DQ7's 3DS ports aren't being localized. YET THE DYNASTY WARRIORS DRAGON QUEST GAME IS! WUT?!?!?!
  5. In addition to waiting, Inafune should have been a bit more held back. Asking for money to make a full blown ANIME as well AS A SEPARATE KS?! OMG Inafune. I love Mega Man, and MN9 looks great, but given some of the drama surrounding MN9 and this KS, it's starting to appear a bit egotistical. It's going to be a failure, but a necessary lesson
  6. This is all the quotes we've dug up. Not all the quotes that exists. Adding in that Ken and Nelcalli aren't available in the BETA yet and Nelcalli hasn't been available to play anyway yet, so its only partially complete.
  7. Street Fighter EX chars are owned by Akira...I think. They aren't owned by Capcom and unlike Karin where the rights are a bit different and Capcom can basically use her as they please unless it violates the licensing rights, they'd have to work out a licensing agreement to get the EX chars, which makes them very unlikely to come back ever. On another note, the BETA is out for PS4. It appears there are a lot of 3rd strike tactics going on and damage is very high (full optimized combos can do upwards of 60%). Also, all the win quotes I managed to dig up from what was posted on Skullheart: Nash to Bison: "I came back to kill you! Nothing more, nothing less..." Nash to Ryu: "That's the power of the Satsui no Hado? I expected more." Nash to Birdie: "You've managed to become an idiotic pig. What's the point of you staying alive?" Nash to Nash: "What's happened to my body?" Nash to Cammy: "If you were HIS servant, you are just as guilty. Prepare to repent." Nash to Chun-Li: "Get in my way again, and I'll kill you where you stand." Chun-Li to Bison: "As long as Shadaloo exists, I'll keep fighting!" Chun-Li to Ryu: "You've gotten stronger since we last met. Keep it up!" Chun-Li to Chun-Li: "My Kung Fu cannot be defeated by a mere imitator!" Chun-Li to Nash: "Hands behind your back! You're under arrest!" Chun-Li to Cammy: "You've really sharpened your skills. Wanna go another round?" Birdie to Nash: "That face! Did ya get those scars goin' against Shadaloo, Mate?" Birdie to Cammy: "I think I recognize that face of yours. Hey, you one of 'em Dolls, ain't ya? Birdie to Birdie: "You got guts for tryin' to steal my food! But don't think you can get away with it!" Birdie to Ryu: "A fight's just another type of food! There's no meaning to it, mate!" Birdie to Bison: "I'm done with Shadaloo! You're just another enemy now!" Cammy to Nash: "I've heard about you. You're coming with me." Cammy to Birdie: "Too slow. Did you think you could catch me?" Cammy to Ryu: "I gained a lot from this fight. I have to rethink how I train." Cammy to Cammy: "I've already decided. I will not run from my past." Cammy to Chun-Li: "Training with you is always helpful. I look forward to next time." Bison to Nash: "You should consider it an honor to fall by my hand twice!" Bison to Ryu: "You are worthless suppressing the Satsui no Hado. Die." Bison to Chun-Li: "I'll send you to meet your father. But the price is your very life." Bison to Bison: "Trash. Nothing but a low level impostor." Bison to Cammy: "With death, all is forgotten. Pain, suffering, and even the past." Bison to Birdie: "Ridiculous. Did you think worthless scum like you could challenge the great M. Bison?" Ryu to Chun-Li: "You've been working on your combos, I see. Nice moves!" Ryu to Nash: "The path of vengeance may not lead to the answers you seek." Ryu to Birdie: "Huh, you want food? Well, I've got some Natto." Ryu to Ryu: "I am no longer plagued by doubt. Confidence will lead me forward." Ryu to Cammy: "Hmm, transforming speed to power. That way of fighting suits you well." Ryu to Bison: "You're strong. Nothing more." Ryu to Ken: "This isn't finished yet. Right, Ken?" Ken to Ken: "Looks like you can copy my moves. Too bad you can't copy my power." Ken to Birdie : “Boy you can eat ! But where the heck are you pulling that food from ?” Ken to Charlie : “Man, you’ve changed. Looking a little rough around the edges these days” Ken to Ryu : “Ho, I enjoyed fighting with you. Wanna go another round?”
  8. SOME?! We only need the almighty Skullomania!
  9. Well to be fair, most ppl got axed in SFIII at first. With the model they have planned, they're a ton of room for them to leave ppl out and fill in the blanks later, so we'll see.
  10. However, we do already have Charlie, and Alex is basically a given if you take into account the hidden Alex billboard in SFxTekken. I don't think they'll want so many American Chars even though Charlie seems to represent Egypt this time around. I do feel Guile will be in at some point though.
  11. Guile has a distinct chance, but I really couldn't say. From a competitive view, he's petty viable, but outside American and parts of Europe...nobody really cares about Guile much.. As far as Oro goes, I don't really see him coming back. Most of the 3rd Strike Cast seems to have been mostly sidelined and even it appears 3rd Strike may have been retconned,,,
  12. I know of Super Robot Wars, and I know of Sakura Wars...but....apparently I don't know much about games with War in the title. It bothered me how they made Legends and X apparently in the same period, with Tronne recognizing X and Mega Man and knowing Zero :/ Also "Let's forget everything past X5 cause Iris!" Bugged me than it should...X8 is mah fav X game D: Devilotte and the Blodia Punch killed me everytime. EVERY TIME. BLOOOOOOODIA PAAAAAAWNCH! I didn't play the tales game Yuri is from. Shame, I hear its good. Too bad its XBOX EXCLUSIVE >_> Really enjoyed the .hack sections (screw the Goblins, though) and felt that was well done, though of course they used Skeith because no one played anything past Part 1, so of course we have to go with the one that makes the least sense! D: I loved a lot of the references. I guess I'm ust far to bogged down by the little things...Looking over my own posts, man I'm a jerk.
  13. Oh that sounds neat. A board game and Card game with a fighting game theming? Mind linking to these? Or at least like descriptions or pages for them? Count me interested.
  14. Unstoppable Badasses? They all seemed quite calm in the face of not only their arch nemesis but also their nemesis packing an army of monster killers....and Dante. (I will never let the Dante jokes die.) Should be called PXZ: Featuring Dante from the Devil May Cry Series. Though to be fair, there's also those moments where the game careens away from Badasses and References to stupid and almost idiotic fanservice at times. Normally I don't mind Fanservice all that much (I do play a ton of Skullgirls after all), but omg some of this was just uncomfortable at times. That one lady with the cowboy as his partner seemed to just be there specifically to create those scenarios I just remembered...PXZ also introduced me to the NEW Shining Force...oh my god the new Shining Force...Why can't some RPGs stick to their roots ever these days and just stay nice and simple? Anyways, I could complain about the story as well, but honestly? Who expected anything from it? I was more impressed with the really great spritework and how they accurately recreated these characters. Yes I can be positive about the game, real shocker, yeah? XD
  15. They did have that Facebook poll on who was everyone's favorites. And they did state it wasn't for LC...So just maybe.... My favorite moments had to be at this year's CB for Skullgirls. The amount of craziness and just absolute amazing plays by WingZero, SonicFox, SwiftFox-Dash, DeKillSage, oh man I was on the edge of my seat. Even my dad, who isn't a big fan of fighters or really understands fighters in general, was really getting into it. It was great!
  16. Fighting games are the best with your friends. Too bad a lot of mine are either tryhards or get overly competitive and tends to start blaming the game intead of themselves. Now, the one who blames the game knows they do so, so they avoid Fighters like the plague, despite being pretty decent at them, its an odd conundrum XD
  17. SC Lost Swords is kinda blegh tbh. Its a bit too restrictive at times ya? That reminds me, I need to start mindlessly advertising L0's new game. Skullgirl's endless launch party since Encore's launch is finally over and L0 has new plans. A Metroidvania styled action RPG with combat like that of Valkyrie Profile! It's an interesting prospect, but this isn't the place to talk about that. I'll go bombard you all mindless with info on it somewhere else :3 Reminds me I still need to add to that gigantic info dump I made on the SFV page with all the char specific stuff... Also, anyone play Lethal League? Game is tons of fun! Made me want to get into those 2D arena fighter type game that have become kinda popular like Towerfall ascension and stuff. But man those little titles like Lethal League and Divekick are basically fighters in their own right (at least as far as the FGC is concerned). Lastly, anyone who plays fighters on a consistent basis or wants to improve in any fighting game they play, feel free to join the Bread and Butter group on Steam. Just tell em I sent ya when you enter the chat. It'll help boost my credibility :3 Nah but seriously, the Bread and Butter, or BnB is run by a buncha fighting game enthusiasts. We aren't the best out there, but some of us are pretty darn good. You need to be set up with a tutor on your game and you live in Europe? Sure, we got ppl near you. Australia? Probably. Heck, we got ppl from Asia XD Basically, if you want to learn fighting games or get a chance to kinda experience the FGC in a more restrained setting, definitely join up. We're a blast.
  18. The reason I say Dante was poorly written was that he never seemed that funny. Maybe part of the hilarity comes from his voice, and having it be Japanese takes that away from me. I also think some if not most of his story dialogue wasn't all that suited to him. Then again, its kinda hard to write one-liners and noticeable remarks for chars like Dante when you need so many different characters getting their chance to talk and be useful. Speaking of which, never got why Dante didn't just do it all himself. I mean this is Dante we're talking about. Guy could probably beat the entirety of the game solo if he wanted XD Of course, gameplay and story require it, but I find that a funny thought of him just having the entire game beat when everyone else finally arrives.
  19. Basically. You're essentially selecting a lobby to it in via what game you're playing. It shows everyone else who is on that game as well, and you can directly challenge them or get challenged. Additionally, you can play any of your owned ROMs alone and even turn on some debug modes so you can do stuff like play training mode in Garou. Cause these are almost all the Arcade versions of the game, so that means in Garou the bosses like Kain are only selectable via smartly timed random and the UM chars aren't available in KoF 98 One other thing. I don't know if I can do this, but should I post a separate thread for my fighting game I'm working on? I could always use more ppl, especially for things like VAing, art (need stuff like char designs, backgrounds, HUD, menu assets), and music or SFX, but I dunno if I can post it as it may count as Advertisement?
  20. SG did have a triple digit turnout at Combo Breaker, and events like Evo are known, 3 years running now, for treating the SG community badly. Additiionally, the current champ of SG, SonicFox, is also the champ of MKX and a number of other games, and SG is one of his main games. I've played him. Guy's a monster. Plus the game was made by Mike Z, a fairly well known Marvel and SF player with a reputable following. He's also the guy behind most of the hero units in Star Wars Battlefront 2 and a number of other games. I don't mind talking about this, and I get where you're coming from. It's not a game the people around your area play, so you have less interest in it and less reason to play it. My point is just that the community, as a whole, has been extremely negative to the SG community, who is formed mostly of minglers from other communities and games. It's also been constantly featured via a twitch stream known as Saturday Night Salt, or Salty, where Mike shows off the new build and they perform some event and a bunch of games to show off the new stuff and let random players use the new build. So I honestly can't think of any reason for people to discredit Skullgirls as a legit fighting game other than people being bigots about its art style or it being an indie game. KI is also an indie game, and it doesn't get this kind of crap. KI was openly accepted and is quite popular and is a main game in most areas. Puzzle Fighter is great! Anyone else play those little hidden indie fighters like Divekick? It's a ton of ridiculous meta fun.
  21. oh that's right. They're putting Natsu in...a Character with no real backstory yet to take off of...Why can't we get a better SC rep? Yoshimitsu? Yung Seong? SIGFRIED? TAKI? MAXI? omfg PXZ2 bugs me. I'm happy we're getting Haseo, but I have a sinking feeling Darkstalkers is going to get more of the axe and a lot of the English chars like Frank West and Bruno aren't coming back. Ever since Namco has stopped dubbing their games I've grown slowly more and more aggravated with them, especially when trying to market these games that could be playing off the VAs. Ugh, I'll admit I'm being than a little spiteful at this game and the original, but considering this has been what I consider a growing problem with Namco Bandai due to the increase in low quality ports outside of things like Jojo's Bizarre Adventure and the Naruto Ultimate Ninja games, and such. I'm happy we're getting it...but I can't help but be more than a little annoyed at it all. Hopefully the characters will actually be IN CHARACTER this time? I know they're addressing a ton of the flaws in the previous game like monotony and stage length, but is the writing gonna reflect this? Dante was so boring and a lot of characters didn't seem to fit the personality set up for them in their respective franchises. I get that may be due to translation and using the Jap audio, but if you want to translate it, at least try and evoke the characters in a way that would sell to fans. Sorry, this game leaves a bit of a bad taste in my mouth. Hoping they can show some stuff to impress me. Despite my cynicism, I'm actually looking forward to it. I want them to prove me wrong, because I know they can. They just didn't try hard enough last time.
  22. oh there are a ton of fun fighters that aren't competitive. The DBZ games are great, as are the ultimate ninja games and the Namco Bandai Fighters in general. DUDE! I'd be so hyped if they made a remake/sequel to the original 2D arcade fighter they had! That game was ridiculous!
  23. TvC was legit great! I want more Darkstalkers...but the hope is dead D: CAAAAAAAAAAAAAPCOOOOOOOOOOM!
  24. SG is niche? Godamn. Well then, the most balanced fighter with the most options for its players and largest set of tools for training is niche? Sorry, dun mean to sound spiteful, but SG deserves a lot more credit than it gets. It was one hell of a finals at Combo Breaker, and honestly its a great game. I suggested it because the tools it gives you to practice with are a lot broader, including things like Hitboxes and other ridiculously meticulous tools. However, its definitely not for everyone, but if you're gonna say SG is niche but Guilty Gear isn't, all because Guilty Gear got to EVO and SG didn't, despite SG having a larger outpouring at Combo Breaker and a massive pot and other numerous achievements, and I can't help but get irritated. Plus, SG is basically a better Marvel Vs. Capcom 2. Sorry, but your whole statement just grates with everything I know about fighting games. Now, as far as a good starting point, because you can play most ANY fighting game in an offline setting and have a grand time. So if that's what they play, then pick up something. Street Fighter is really easy to get into due to mass amount of ppl who know what they're doing and willing to share. Robo-Fortune is still free :/ We all have our preferences yep. I think ppl need to understand what this genre is. Fighting games are really niche by what they are. Its not fair to call a game niche because its indie. I urge everyone to try new fighters and see if they enjoy them. That fighter may have features or services they enjoy and want to play with more. I basically own every modern fighter under the sun and can speak from experience when I say that just because something seems high quality doesn't mean it is. MvC3? A Broken mess. Ultimate MvC3? Less of a broken mess. Skullgirls? Did the same thing, but managed to attain balance. 3rd Strike? Classic. Garou? Who doesn't love it? Yatagarasu? Manages to capture bits of what made these older fighters great. You can enjoy stuff like SF while not enjoying a game like Blazblue, Honestly Mortal Kombat is too backwards for me to really get into, but I wouldnt necessary say its bad. Its not very fun to watch imo, but stuff like UNIEL? I suck at it, but its a join to watch!
  25. Oh yeah, I forgot to mention this. Yeah, the game is heavily hinted at being AFTER SF III games. Now, I highly doubt Yang is coming back immediately, same for guys like Twelve, Necro, etc. Besides, if they were gonna put Yang in, they'd put Yun in. If they could only do 1, they would put Rufus, who was supposed to be a similar playstyle to the two of them in one character. Now, Capcom has stated that characters would be release for free in replacement of iterations, so the initial 16 will most likely be bevied by more quickly. We're most likely going to see more Illuminati characters, but from what we've seen, Necro and Twelve don't really fit with what's going on over there quite yet. We'll just have to wait and see.
