  1. Luckily I haven't spoiled anything about Revelations for myself, but Conquest and Birthright are both spoiled for me in terms of deaths and a bit of the story, not completely. I like someone said I think on the last page, regret looking at the forums hoping for some nice information on some of the new classes, the level designs, my castle, etc, then seeing that everyone who played the game early was just trashing the story, and spoiled just about everything. Luckily my hopes haven't lowered because I personally think the story isn't that bad, I couldn't careless about the whole Fire Emblem Amie thing, and I never used the children units anyway.
  2. As a lot of others have said I imagine a new smash would be the same "system" as 4. I don't see Lucina and Dark Pit returning since they are just reskins of Marth and pit. I unfortunately don't see cloud returning either, but hope I am wrong. If not I am hoping for at least Cecil Harvey in his place. I don't see a new fire emblem rep coming, unless it's a non sword user. Which I say it's about time. Fire emblem has more weapons than swords and has an entire weapon triangle that needs two more weapons that need representatives.

    Hello

They look pretty similar to Tellius's Halberdiers. Ive been interested in the GBA Fire Emblem games for years. Unfortunately I have been unable to find a copy of the games, and I recently had to get rid of my old GBA because it was pretty much broken beyond repair. I'm hoping sooner or later that they either make a remake for them, or rerelease them for the DS. *edit: Just realized that what you posted was a ROM Hack type thing. That is really interesting. I will have to take a look at that.

    Hello

. Yeah I am playing through the game now. Got to the part where you have to split the three armies. Probably one of the coolest "endgames" for a game imo. Thanks everyone :)

    Hello

Hello Serenes Forest. I started my account a few months ago, didn't post for a while, then made a few a couple weeks ago. I have been playing Fire Emblem for a few years, and started with Path of Radiance, moved to Radiant Dawn, though I have not completed that game yet. Then didn't play for a while until I got a 3ds last year with Fire Emblem Awakening. I am looking forward to Fates, and unfortunately not very good at keeping things from being spoiled for myself. My favorite class for Fire Emblem would probably be the Halberdier, and am glad to see them return in Fates. I've also played other strategy games like Valkyria Chronicles, Warcraft Series, Age of Wonders, etc. I am looking forward to my time on here aswell. I probably won't be very active, but do enjoy reading posts, so Hello again, and good luck.
  6. They don't give enough customization. Main characters that are created don't have to be horrible. Mass Effect, Dragon Age, Baldur's Gate, and Neverwinter all do just fine. The difference is, they all allow extensive customization of your character. Appearance, background, in some cases personality, race, etc. They also have branching dialogue options. Something that if IS wants to continue using the avatar, they really need to adopt. They also don't have a story completely based around them. There are other things going on in the world. More than just the created character are competent enough to handle the situations at had. I think Awakening was a good start for the MU, central to the story, but at the same time not being constantly praised. I think if they want to make it better, improve on the appearance customization. Really make it where players can create the character they want. Example being in Fates I won't be creating my Paladin that I create in every fantasy game. The customization options just arent there to make him in this one. Also allow more control over dialogue. If they don't want to go with dialogue choices, then at least allow different personalities that effect what they say, do, and act like. That and they really need to drop the praising of the character. You don't have to make him hated or dislikable, but make it where he isn't the constant character that from the time he was 5 he was told that he is the hero of this land. I also think dropping the Otaku pandering could help. With the personality system I stated above, it could also decide what characters can be supported. Stop the entire full cast support and limit it. That and I think the entire reason for the constant MU praise in the story is because of Otaku pandering. They try to hard to make the player feel special, instead of making a good story around the character they created.
  7. I like the My Castle feature. I always enjoy castle/base building elements in games, even if they aren't all that detailed. I also like the length and replay value this game is going to have with the three versions, plenty of classes, the marriage system returning, and the amount of characters. I think I will enjoy the story, since I also enjoyed Awakening's story and thought it wasn't too bad. Unfortunately some of the character deaths were ruined for me by accident. I'm on the fence on the children returning. I thought it was lazy the way they explained it, and could of been handled better, or just removed. I also am not big on the idea of the MU being able to marry the children units. I thought it was creepy in awakening, and think its creepy here too, especially since he was likely there for some of their births. Their really isn't a whole lot I dislike. For the most part i've tried not to spoil things for myself. That and I am pretty simple when it comes to things I like. As long as it's got good gameplay and a half-way decent story it is good in my book.
  8. Drizzt. He would never get in, too many people don't know who he is, originates from a book, and has only had a small amount of video game representation, most of which he was unplayable. He would make for an interesting character though with dual wielding of Twinkle and Icingdeath and various nature abilities from being a ranger. I have a feeling if for whatever reason he got in, most people would be confused as to what the hell this dark skinned, white haired, elf is doing in smash bros. That and they would complain about another anime pretty boy with a sword making it in, even though his origin has never been in japanese media.
  9. I have been reading a lot on the new Fire Emblem game, and want to really make my choice for which of the two I will buy first in 2016. I was interested in Nohr, or conquest as it will be called, since the game was anounced, but have some issues with some problems that have been pointed out with it. I was never really interested in Birthright, or Hoshido, because it just never really appealed to me, but did want to buy it at some point just to experience both sides. Which of the two was a more enjoyable experience? what were the positives and negatives or both sides, and also what was the length of Nohr and the replayability of it, since this is what I am mostly worried about with the Nohr side.
