  1. i'm usually quite torn between Rhydon, Suicune, Lugia, Altaria, Gardevoir and Gallade (also Quaquaval with Gen 9), but if i were to pick only one, i think that would be Gallade (Mega Gallade included)
  2. oh, i see, then i get why you put remakes and remasters together well, technically Metroid Prime Remastered is... not a remaster, but also not a 100% remake i honestly had a gut feeling, when it was announced during the last Direct, that this was another "Crash N-Sane Trilogy" case, where the game is advertised as a remaster, only to make fans understand that the game is pretty much the same as the old one, but with new graphics... and it actually was: Metroid Prime Remastered not only changes a lot of graphical assets (models, textures, etc), but it also features a completely reworked lighting system, along with many other tweaks to its general graphical and gameplay aspects but apparently Metroid Prime Remastered also reuses some parts of the original game's code, making this not a 100% remade game, kinda like Crisis Core FFVII Reunion with only its graphical assets and combat system being actually remade from scratch about FFVIIR, i agree with you when you say that it basically implies that the player knows what the original FFVII was about, but that's a story matter maybe i explained myself poorly in my previous comment, but what i meant with the "let's pretend we're making this game for the first time because we want players to experience something new, fresh and maybe even unexpected" part is that they approached the remaking process as if FFVII, from a technical PoV, was being made in 2020 for the first time, with a modern philosophy (action gameplay rather than turn-based), and while yes, the narrative elements of the game require a certain degree of knowledge of the original game, that doesn't quite concern the "remake/remaster" discussion, i think
  3. 1) Graphical update 2) The content these are my answers, but regardless of that, i think the questions aren't quite well put first off, remasters and remakes are very, COMPLETELY different things, even though the final result can be perceived as being the same for both (it isn't). remasters generally have the sole purpose of upgrading the game's graphical assets and image resolution, so that they fit current standards, even though the software is the same at its core. remakes instead are much more dependent on the developer's intentions: they can simply be "the old game, but remade with modern technologies and maybe a few QoL changes" kind of approach (Crash N-Sane Trilogy, Metroid Prime Remake, Live A Live), or they can be a "let's pretend we're making this game for the first time because we want players to experience something new, fresh and maybe even unexpected" thing (Final Fantasy VII Remake). this said, both ways can (but are not required to) add completely new contents to the remakes. also, what do you mean by "content", exactly? its sheer quantity? or the quality of its gameplay?
  4. i mean yeah, he kinda is for a moment i forgot the topic was "divisive" characters and just thought about controversial ones
  5. is Makalov even popular enough to count? otherwise yeah, i don't think there are many "camillla-tier" divisive FE characters aside from Edelgard, Rhea and a few more i've seen being mentioned
  6. no, i don't like her at all, and whenever she pops up or opens her mouth in any game she's featured in, she generally takes me away from whatever the game's trying to do or tell, striking me as a mere "corrin worshipping bot" rather than a fictional character with her own personality, preferences, fears and so on i do agree that she fits Engage's aesthetic and tone perfectly, though, also shoutouts to the 18+ art pieces of her, as that's what she was clearly made for to begin with
  7. "Probably the most replaceable character in videogame history" Makalov
  8. it genuinely surprises me to see Makalov and Almedha not being at the very bottom of this list if only it didn't take another 1+ year to see them in FEH
  9. what if Calill eventually gets added (Largo, Calill, Makalov and Brom as a banner???), but as a dagger or staff unit
  10. oh right, that banner yeah, i reafferm, it felt like a damn eternity for me wake me up when Makalov gets added
  11. iirc Kita is a woman btw, this banner actually made me feel sorry for having uninstalled FEH like 2 months ago (except i redownloded it only to get lumera and a free chloé, then uninstalling it once again), because i've been waiting for Geoffrey and Bastian and Makalov and Kieran for years, but I don't think this'll make me download the game yet again out of curiosity, when was the last Tellius New Heroes Banner, exactly? because to me it felt like an eternity
  12. as far as " what main character represents his/her game the best" goes, if "representation" is intended as "the most important character", i think my picks are quite predictable: Gaiden/Echoes: Alm Genealogy: Sigurd Blazing Sword: Eliwood Sacred Stones: Eirika Awakening: Lucina but i must admit, i picked Robin over Lucina because they're the most important Awakening main character for the FE series as a whole, as they're the most popular and recognizable avatar in the series, although not necessarily the most important character for Awakening's plot Lyn could be intended as the "frontwoman" of Blazing Sword, but only for the same reasons which led IS pick Camilla as a dlc emblem for Engage instead of literally anyone else the "first western FE lord nostalgia" point might be thrown in and it'd be solid, but then again this goes back to the "attractive, busty, not-entirely-dressed female character" discourse which in retrospect made IS think shafting Eliwood in favor of Lyn was the optimal idea for better sales overall... which in the end i think is the OP's question's whole point
  13. Level 5 is alive, luckily DecaPolice actually looks interesting to me, can't wait to know more about it Layton being back is super cool, although i REALLY don't want it to go full 3d, i still want to touch everywhere on the screen to get those hint coins there will also be another Level 5 news drop later this month, where they should show more about the new Inazuma Eleven game they've been developing for almost a decade now i want it to be an actual thing so bad
  14. well i don't know if i can be of any help considering i just completed chapter 15 anyway, i farmed skirmishes quite a bit in order promote her after her P.Knight reclassing (she probably got 2/3 levels as a sword fighter, but i don't think she raised strength even once) she mainly uses Folkvangr (Alfonse's weapon from Heroes), armorslayer (might replace with a hammer), steel axe and steel sword, and yeah she takes care of pretty much anything i send her against, except maybe particularly fast units such as wolf knights and thieves as a lv2 wyvern knight, she has 40 HP (+7 from Ike's ring, bond level 14), 8 Bld, 21 Str (+3), 15 Dex, 25 Spd, 19 Def (+3), 15 Res and 15 Luck hope this helps
  15. not sure if this is considered as odd, but i really wanted to use Lapis, then immediately after, the game gave me access to Diamant, so in order to make them do different things, i reclassed Lapis into a Pegasus Knight and then Sword-Axe Wyvern Knight, with Ike's emblem now she's one of my strongest units, even Diamant would fear fighting her also, i didn't expect this at all, but my Warrior Boucheron + Lyn's emblem is doing wonders he doesn't have the highest strength stat, but he can stack so much speed and has absurdly high constitution he can wield pretty much any weapon and not being affected in the slightest
  16. oh wow, thank you so much well... i hoped all S rank bond rings could have a skill, but it's pretty neat some of them do at all
  17. so, i'm just past chapter 11, and i've got a question about bond rings (spoiler tag in case you don't want to know 4 characters who appear as bond rings)
  18. went for Hard/Classic i only completed the first 2 chapters as of now, so i don't think i can really say anything, except that i'm really enjoying the gameplay so far
  19. 10) Erk: the first FE mage i've ever met, i couldn't really say why i like him so much 9) Ayra: first female swordfighter in the series, first wielder of Astra: i know she essentially looks like female Nabarl, but who cares, she's so cool to me 8 ) Reyson: Tellius's is my favorite FE cast ever, and Reyson is one of the most intriguing characters in the series: i love how they cared to tell us so many potentially useless facts about him: as a heron laguz, he can only eat fruits and nuts, and we're also told that he broke his fingers when he punched Oliver, implying that he's also not as composed as he might seem, and let's not forget how he tried to kill the whole beorc population: dude's a lion in a chick's body 7) Rhea: green-haired dragon mommy + i like how easily she can switch between her "come here my sweet child" and her "i dare you speak one more word" personas, i dunno i just like her a lot: she might also be a good teacher for Reyson, if he really wishes to learn how to punch people 6) Mercedes: i liked her since they first showed her, she's probably the most mentally stable person in the whole monastery, and i appreciate her "big sister" personality 5) Marianne: i tend to love characters with low self-esteem, so me liking Marianne is a given, also she's super cute (although i don't really like her timeskip haircut) 4) Ike: he used to be my favorite FE character ever, but over time i began appreciating more quirky and/or """complex""" characters over him; still, he keeps his Top 10 place, just before the podium 3) Makalov: the man, the legend, the Maka; i love how he kinda looks like Lupin the 3rd, i love how much of an idiot he is, i love everything about him 2) Soren: green-haired wind mage + love his hair and his cold and practical attitude, and i think it's something we need more of in this series 1) Levin: green-haired wind mage + bard class + my favorite FE archetype, there's absolutely nothing i dislike about levin, i love the way he looks, the way he plays, the way he essentially tells both Sigurd and Sylvia to go fuck themselves in the same chapter (i also like his Forseti arc, a lot): my favorite FE character full stop
  20. anyone from Genealogy except substitute characters, anyone from Tellius except Fiona and Mia (not really a fan), anyone from Echoes, Guinevere, Eliwood, Hector, Roy... they're too many as for Engage, probably the only character I REALLY like as of now is Chloé, as she looks like the most "classic FE character design" in the game; I might also add Diamant and Alfred too
  21. a large chunk of the Fates cast (Elise, Leo, Hinoka, Scarlet and so on), Fiona (the only Tellius character i don't like), Cath, Vanessa and a few other characters i can't think of right now as for Engage, all those characters with facisl stickers (? i hope they are just stickers), namely Yunaka, Panette and so on, and of course Alear i'd say Céline as well, purely for how ridiculous her hair is, it must make at least half of her whole body weight
  22. lucky me i finally uninstalled the game a few weeks ago or i'd have wasted an insane amount of time getting as many orbs as possible to waste on Chloé
  23. Radiant Dawn is FE10 and 3H is FE16, so my bet is Donatello in FE22 and Michelangelo in FE28
  24. yeah i just read that and i don't think i'll manage to get any sleep tonight because of that i just hope the next FE game won't have characters called literally Sandwich and Toast, because that's what this whole situation is sounding like to me (also yeah, this is JoJo Vento Aureo all over again)
