Free pulls from the voting gauntlet banners: Block A: Males +Atk/-Hp. Pretty good. Maybe if I get a few more I'll train this guy up, make a super 4* merge, then sack my 5* +Res/-Spd one for the Brave Axe+ Block B: Females +Res/-Hp. Looks like I join the "5* from a free pull" club. Not sure yet if I want to train him, or just give his Brave Sword to someone else. This also makes the second Ogma I've gotten from free pulls.

Unless her Atk is trash, Lyn seems like a no-brainer for the free summon, gameplay wise.

I'm probably one of the only people here who even want this character, but I went ahead and wrote up a stat-line and quotes page for one of my personal favorites, Tomas. The only canon sources of characterization we get on Tomas are his death quotes, character ending, a throwaway line in BS FE, New Mystery recruitment speech, and his one support with Kris. In this support he comes across as happy-go-lucky, and is confident to the point of using Kris to perform the cliché parlor trick of shooting an apple off someone’s head. While this provided me with at least something to work with, I had to take some liberties. My head-canon is that while Tomas is cheerful and sociable on the outside, he suffers from mild PTSD from his experience as a prisoner of war and surviving an execution attempt. While he does his best to hide this, it comes out every now and then in the quotes I’ve written here. He subjects himself to rigorous and just downright absurd training regimens (like the apple thing) as a way of keeping his mind busy and regain confidence. I’m not really satisfied with some of the quotes, mainly the ones for the character page. Not that there’s any real reason to, but I may tinker with these a bit more.

Not really sure what to do with her B slot yet. Ardent Sacrifice + Desperation sounds nice, but even assuming a Hone Spd bonus, it's not enough to quad strong meta units like Ryoma or Celica, so she'll still wind up losing against them. I'm thinking about Swordbreaker.

The Valter GHB made it painfully clear to me that I lack a strong Brave Bow Archer. With the surplus of feathers I had accumulating over the past few weeks, I decided to get started on something I'd been wanting to do for a while, but never got around to. +Atk/-Res. The regular Brave Bow was from a long time ago -- I still need to pull another Gordin/Klein to give her the +. There are better Brave Bow archers out there no doubt, but we work with what we have, and I wouldn't have invested this much if I didn't really like the character too.

Final score before I went to bed last night. Only dropped about 200 ranks in 3 hours, but I just wanted to be sure to land within the 5k threshold. The team pictured is the one I used during runs I actually bothered to play -- I'd say a good 50,000 of those points were from auto-battling Hard5, replacing Ephraim and Nino with Clive/Julia/Takumi.

Time for another update. I went from 31 to 40 5* units this past month. I cleared Infernal! I used my spare Corrin-M to give Def+1 to Donnel, which was just enough with his merges and the Squad Ace B seal to hit 33 and thus get the ideal AI movements. It feels kinda lame to just copy someone else's strat move for move, but in this case the alternative was flailing about unsuccessfully for a week and becoming infuriated in the process...

Season 29 (1.3.0 S15) Results: Score: 4,830 Defense: 582 Rank: Tier 18 --> 19 Similar team to what I've used in the past, but I wanted to play around with Guidance. I found it to be a bit more situational than I would have liked, and the team overall was more unreliable than I was anticipating. Oof, this will be the first Infernal GHB I haven't been able to beat on the first day, and I used up several stamina potions. I tried to replicate the 4* Olivia/Gordin/Donnel/Ursula strat here, but apparently Donnel needs to be +Def for the Archer to move up rather than to the side.

I managed to clear Lunatic with a flier emblem team of Narcian/Hinoka/S!Corrin-F/Caeda, but I'm finding Infernal to be beyond my abilities right now. Brave Bow Archers seem really good here, but I don't have any worthwhile ones. I could 5* my +Atk/-Hp Gordin...but I'd really hate to spend 20k feathers just to have a chance of getting 2k in return.

Free Pull on the Blade banner: +Hp/-Res, same as my other 4* Hana. I had intended to pull a green orb, but none showed up unfortunately.

Nah. It was a not-so-humble brag. I keep forgetting to bring them.

My free pull from Sacred World: Already have a Serra with 2000+ HM, so I'll give her Recover to Azama or someone else. I also managed to pull a +Spd/-Res Innes within 15 orbs, which I'm pretty stoked about. Also got a +Hp/-Atk Seth when no blue orbs showed up in a session, but ultimately wasn't successful in getting Tana. 15 orbs left, down from 100.

Season 28 (1.3.0 S14) Results: Score: 4,792 Defense: 580 Rank: Tier 19 --> 18 First time fielding a full flier team for the arena, and I can't wait to deck these guys out further. A sub 4,800 score was unfortunate, and likely brought about by Hinoka's incomplete set, as well as use of the low-SP Drag Back. I thought it would be enough to move on to tier 20 again, but I saw myself getting pushed out of the ranks only today, and having to work most of the day I didn't have the time to try and improve it last minute. The last time I tried having a partial flier squad with Narcian and Hinoka, archers gave me so much hell. Thankfully, Corrin is so strong with Blarblade that she simply punches right through them. Both her and Caeda need better A-skills, but as of now I'm at a loss of what it should be. Swift Sparrow would be lovely on Corrin, but that would necessitate pulling another Katarina. Caeda stills needs a Wo Dao, and something better than her default Darting Blow. Drag Back is great for positioning and makes the team a little more reliable, but it's not great for points, and ideally I'd like to replace for offense. Narcian/Hinoka/Caeda will make up my main core in the long-term, with the remaining slot being a wild card. I'll always need a bonus hero, and that will give me room to experiment more. As for Arena Assault... Led with the team in the screenshot. Was a first try run so no items were used. Rank-wise was somewhere in the 2000s. Did anyone here end up close to rank 1000, or just within it? I'd be curious to know roughly how many points I would need to break into the next tier. Narcian (twice by accident), Caeda, Ike, Hinoka, Canas, Laura, Tomas, Nanna, Dorcas, Pelleas, Machua, Ilyana. The only thing that's changed since last time is I've managed to pull Hinoka. Still waiting on quite a few.

The team that got me ten defenses last week only has one so far. I wouldn't be surprised if the addition of Arena Assault has something to do with it. Now disinterested players have to touch through another screen to get to the mode, which I suspect leads to less matches played overall. That, or many players are experimenting with the new Assault instead.

Free Pull for Hero Fest: +Def/-Res. She'll just be merged on my other one. I'll be diving into colorless hell for Genny...wish me luck. Edit: That didn't take long rofl Forgot to get a pic of the summoning circle, but I got both of them in one. They were +Hp/-Def and +Atk/-Spd. One of them will be SI'd to Priscilla, but I'm not sure which one I should keep.

Free Summon for the 8.11 Tempest Trial: Can never have enough Reposition fodder, I suppose.

Season 27 (1.3.0 S13) Results: Score: 4,808 Defense: 580 Rank: Tier 20 --> 19 Anna's debut. The team is very reliable, as an Eirika, Nino, Azura team should be, but it scores low. It was hard getting matches over 684, even with Azura at +1. While I wait to pull another Cain to give WoM to Azura, she makes due with Seal Atk filler from a spare 4* Jeorge I had. Unrelated to the above team, but I somehow managed to pull in a whopping 10 defenses this week, the most I've gotten by far. I was not expecting green-stacking to be all that effective. It's hard to say which of the Askr trio I like best -- Alfonse limits my red options, but he works well with Hector and other units that can get me a high score. Sharena is Ephraim-lite, and Anna is probably the best combat unit of the three. I ran into this in one of my matches: Got baited into ninja emblem, which I didn't even know was a thing. They were all 4*+10 with Poison Daggers. Seems like a very under-looked team composition, if only for arena defense. Season 27 Hall of Fame: Previous Season Results:

A lot of people seem to be trivializing the map with Reinhardt, but mine isn't strong enough to ORKO the lancers without Lancebreaker. In any case, I cleared it after a lot of trial and error with a team of SF!Corrin/Hinoka/Nino/Olivia. This happened on one of the attempts: I thought I had it in the bag, but I wasn't ready for the OP Obstruct strat, and Hinoka lacked the power to KO the Lance Pegasus instead (and was in fact one-rounded in return). In the next attempt, swapping Olivia and Hinoka's position at this turn makes the Lance Peg move diagonally right instead of straight down, leaving Lilina wide open.

Cecilia and Lilina's Battle free summon: +Def/-Res. There a lot of worse things I could have gotten, but he doesn't pass on any worthwhile skills. I suppose I'll just merge him on my +Spd/-Res one.
