I'm not voting in the poll since I plan on picking my route at the actual choice depending on how the characters made an impression on me. Of course I'm also duplicating myself as the avatar so my boon and bane will probably suck. Which is really the only reason I'm not starting on Lunatic. Going Lunatic Nohr with -HP or -Str with a healer subclass sounds really dumb.
Did you by it digital? Considering your option is set in stone depending on the edition of the physical one you buy...

Okay, let me start by saying that I enjoyed being over powered in Awakening. My Avatar was a magic using dark flier with galeforce. I really also liked using magic and destroying everything on classic mode. So I was wondering if this was doable again in Fates? I'm a little confused regarding the name changes of classes. I also hear a lot of people mentioning Corrin should be a ninja. Can I survive riding a Pegasus in Fates? Thoughts? Suggestions?
they nerfed galeforce and Nosferatu is the only dark tome in fates... so dark flier is kinda bad imo...

The irks that I have are mostly just gameplay irks. A lot of the base classes for characters do not fit at all. Which was weird since Awakening let you play and win with just promotions of the same classes that characters started out with. I also like this as well, since it sets up for a lot of customization.

The one that got me the most was Rhajat... like what? Also Joker is much better than Jakob imo and sounds original, but whatever... Also Aqua rang better with me than Azura. Tbh Niles and Xander caught up with me quickly...

Yeah, it hasn't been confirmed canon by Nintendo (as I have seen), but even they say you should play Revelations last (which makes sense, play the alternates first, then play the canon)

Neither seems to be my option irl, but in game I chose Nohr because I like the gameplay the most in Conquest.

Is anyone planning on making interesting teams for PVP? I plan on using a lot of the Kamui-Sexuals, or whatever you guys call them. Although I'm not too fond of Flora, I love Izana and Ashura's personalities~

The problem with Nohr is the characters are much more lively and cute~ yet dat story. Still love Conquest more after actually playing it. Though I wanted to see Takumi get brutally murdered eventually, I hate his guts. At least Joker is the original asshole of the story.

Ah I see. I just missed having the older lords, after Kamui I feel like they need to work on giving the main character more personality.

Who else here thinks the FE after fates should be like the older games? It can still have marriage, but no children, they tend to break the game anyways. Character creation should be scrapped, but have a lord of each gender be playable. Does anyone else think this is a great idea?

Normal/classic is more of my thing than hard/classic. That map with Takumi sending unit after unit after unit got annoying real fast, and was too much for the level of my party members at the time. Normal/Classic makes more sense to me.
Also why cavaliers if I may ask? They feel underdevloped in this game for some reason. Magic users seem to be the go to class for Nohr imo.

I don't understand the point you're making. A lot of popular games have bad writing, so the inclusion of Corrin in Super Smash Bros. is A-ok?
Wait, did you just imply that people who don't like Corrin or Fates are hipsters? Are you just ignoring all of the actual problems everyone has with the game and just think they're trying to be cool on the internet?
As long as I can play as a character and marry someone of the same sex, I'm happy. Plus the initial gameplay is intact, idgaf tbh.

I want the series to continue, and while I'm not one of the people who claim that waifus destroyed the series, I am concerned with their intention of making the game "an anime you can live in", as I believe someone stated. Adding Corrin, and it increasing the copies sold of Fates, feels like rewarding horrible writing and will give them the wrong idea that the abomination they created actually was good.

hmm yet, a lot of other popular games have bad writing? Tales of Vesperia was pretty bad imo. No offense but I feel like people hate fates to be hipsters, and theres a lot of them here on good old SF.

Look on the bright side. Them including Corrin (amongst all the other Fire Emblem reps
who don't deserve to be in Smash)shows how much Fire Emblem is valued as a series. Unless you want the series to end, this should be considered a good thing. Maybe we'll even get a home console Fire Emblem after Fates sells a ton.Don't you mean home console FE?

Plenty of people know the character. I've played this game thoroughly and discussed it to death, which is why I'm so disappointed. I realize they want to hype the game up in the West, but Corrin is one of the worst playable characters in gaming. I just don't think he deserves to duke it out with Nintendo's greatest.
I could care less, if it sells fates then its good. Female Corrin is my thing though, shes attractive and I like the fact that she can marry a woman.
