I shouldn't complain, since I got a lot of 5* within relatively few orbs. But now the 4 Roys I got out if this banner are looking at 1 Siegbert, 1 Lethe (new), 1 Owain, 2 Lukes and 2 Sabers (new). *sigh*
I feel you, I seem to always complain here, even though I don't want to and am quite lucky with sheer numbers, but then one looks at the result and cannot deny that lingering feeling of disappointment, especially in your case; so close, yet so far. Gacha is truly devious. Even when one is lucky, happiness doesn't necessarily set in.

Well, not really what I desired (shocker, I know), but I got W!Ephraim and ANOTHER FREKKING Sue on my probably last circle on the Alm banner. Sue can be wasted willy nilly for Hone Speed 4 + Chill Def 3 at this point, a luxury for sure, and Ephraim... has Att/Def Solo, I guess? Don't need Bold Fighter with my spare B!Hector, and Close Guard is unimpressive. After finally getting Lugh on the VG banner, and with a random Mordecai on this circle as icing on the cake as well, even I can hardly complain. I should just get used to my curse/blessing already, though I know I won't.

FINALLY, grinding all the monthly orbs quickly paid off. Lugh is here (to die)! You can take the other 5*s back if you want, game. Better late than never, and I'm glad I don't have to leave that banner super disappointed again. 4.25% isn't too high, but after wasting so many orbs on the first attempt, it still adds up.
Regardless, I should stop summoning until Astra comes along now. Not a whole lot to use then, just a bit less than a months worth of orbs, but hopefully enough for a copy.

Not the worst mode, not great either. Random units can screw up your attempt, while wasting the friend's unit for the day, the necessity of either of the two legendary heroes obviously irks me, but isn't too mandatory due to negligible prizes (the jump in score rewards for those willing to go after the new shiny units also feels kinda off, imo: +100 feathers -> +200 -> +1000 -> +500?! At least the increasing ranking rewards make enough sense).
All in all, extra 2k feathers (maybe 3k someday) and some flowers per week is fine, but it's not the mode I'm still looking for, where I can play whenever I have nothing left to do, just another low-effort/one-and-done mode. Shrug.
At least getting to play with units from the friends list is neat, and still a way better mode than.... yaaawn, the voting gauntlet.

Why FEH, why do you keep on being confused as to what I want, I am not pulling blue with the tickets to get Hector and Lucina, I just want Shigure copies, I need Ward Flier, not useless units that I already have. And yet, Lugh still evades me, the one unit I'm paying orbs for, reluctantly, for my AR defense, but that one.... just doesn't come home. I could have been wasting the orbs on the legendary banner for broken Alm, but no, this game mocks me... it's painful.
Free tickets today, gave me random trash manuals, B!Hector, Adrift F!Corrin and ANOTHER B!Lucina....
I REALLY don't want to whine, since the quantity of 5* pulls is really nice, but looking at my recent record of summons, the only ones I actually aimed for were Caineghis and Velouria on their respective first banners (and before that? Takumi on the daily banner from the anniversary), the rest is just random stuff, I don't necessarily hate, but it's really tiresome (5 Sues and no Lugh being the worst offender).

Yada yada, trash pulls while going for Lugh with all I had, yada yada, nothing on full circle legendary banner with LHB orbs, yada yada, trash tickets, yada yada, all the Silases in the world and not a single Shigure, yada yada, all tickets gone, nothing of interest, nothing I aimed for, yada yada, random B!Lucina I have no real use for. Fun.

Looked at the new BHB banner, was underwhelmed, guess I'll pull red for a chance at free Aether? 2 Gray, 1 Green, 1 Red, 1 Blue... actually you know what, I'll pull blue, I need Shigures for my Flier Ball and none of the focus units are really interesting.
M!Adrift Corrin.... ok then, guess I'll wait longer. He is +Spd/-Def, but I don't think I have any use for him. Null-FollowUp is not really useful to me right now, maybe later down the line. Once again, random 5* I wasn't aiming at. Maybe I should have wished for Oboro and Corrin, then I might have gotten Shigure or Nailah instead, who knows?

There isn't much to figure out, you can't have more than 100 in Astra, not before the Astra Mythic comes along.

I believe I'm back to a more ... regular pace at pulling 5* now, pulled quite a bit of typical trash, all the new colourless demotes from the last FEH channel (which I like, to have more copies of) and already forgot about a lot of the trash I turned into manuals, except I got my last Sakura to make her +10, so one goal less because of it. But why did I even pull? I kinda wanted to skip this, but those tickets, man they got me good this time. I was too stubborn to let them go, so IS got me with their seduction this time. Regardless, it wasn't too bad. While I did spend more than I wanted, I got the lion king (-HP/+RES, is fine) today with Olivia and Sully as added sacrifice for being pleasantly surprised by his appearance. Luckily, I didn't get the orbs from the gardens beforehand, otherwise I'd have wasted those as well. Now back to saving, and hopefully I can actually skip the next banner for once. I lack discipline..., but at least he'll make arena easy for a bit.

I just lazily went with the plural of the suffix -us in Latin declension, which is -i, I believe, but since i'm not even sure if that was the reason for the word "foci" I added the doubts in parenthesis.

I didn't know I had this pet peeve, but your excessive use of the word "foci" irks me. Don't worry, I'm not gonna tell you to stop or anything (I'll find a way to cope), but when you use it this often and especially in the form of "1 Foci" (am I missing something, maybe? Foci is just the plural form of focus, no?), something inside me gets agitated.
Unfortunately, I cannot add anything substantial to the Special/New Heroes discussion. I have resigned from trying to understand anything IS is doing right now and am currently in a generally foul mood when it comes to FEH, so I guess I'm just holding up till Three Houses and then shrug it or the game off, whatever makes me feel better.

You don't want to "yoyo" in AR, you want to coast. With the higher possible chances of gaining lift than losing some, your goal should be to outperform the defense losses you are racking up, technically by successfully playing once a day with whatever team you want to gain back the maximum loss of 80 lift (basically winning a match without losses suffices, and you don't need to care about blessings, bonus units and aether). Losing tiers in AR are way more devastating than in Arena for example, where going T20.5 is way easier, by scoring the same with your built team, while AR requires you to gain ALL the points back from the starting point of the lower tier to gain a level, meaning more matches, more focus and effort necessary. Basically, you wouldn't want to do the climb from 20 to 21 ever again if you can avoid it. Granted, 18.5 is easier, but still follows the same principle that coasting is generally easier and maintains your current reward level.

Don't have the orbs to pull, so I'll skip, luckily no Haar and Jill to summon.... but Haar is a GHB, so he'll probably be just ok without anything fancy, great. A "bit" disappointed for one of my favorite characters in the entire franchise, I must say. We'll see if I care to +10 him or not. Already didn't do it with Lyon, so he might share the same fate. I will 5* at least one copy, obviously. Also surprised he wouldn't be a regular unit, but, at the very least, I am guaranteed to get him.
Lvl 4 skills can pretty much go to hell, my god, are these getting annoying, same with the Yu-Gi-OH weapon descriptions that I'll have to read in every battle if I don't understand the outcome of the battle predictions.
Great addition to the cast, though. Really like the picks here and hopefully with some demote(s) this time?

It's more of a compulsion, if I'm being honest. I hate losing to stuff I find "undeserving", AR basically brings out the worst the game has to offer, so I want to crush the nonsense more out of spite than rewards, thus me putting more value into defeating the enemy than going for the orb. I can't tell where the line is where I'd suck it up for the orbs, but that's just how I am. I assure you, I hate the mode for even more reasons.
I could, however, try making an anima team for next week when possible free win matches occur. Should be fine to occupy one slot for it, I guess, but I'll still prioritize winning.

Losing an AR Lift tier is 1, losing a player rank tier is 5 in my case.

It would probably be a loss of "just" 5 stones, 6 grails, 3 flowers and a throne (yes, that one is a joke as I don't care one bit about those), but it's not just about that. It's mostly combined with the added frustration that I don't care to have. 5 handicapped and sluggish matches, with the potential of failing due to the uselessness of the anima unit, adding another anima match for every defeat. Nah, I'm good. An orb is not worth that much.

In Light season, definitely, Why would I waste Lift like that? in Anima season, it would still remain a nuisance and self-handicapping myself isn't exactly fun, in a mode that is already not fun, just for a single orb. I don't feel like throwing out working support for this nonsense, which basically asks me to either drag another dead weight along (the bonus units already tries to sometimes) or waste blessings on my good units that are already blessed. None of these seem particularly sensible for the offered prize.

The Anima quests are actual poop. As if I'd use Anima-blessed units on my AR offense, five times no less. 1 orb lost, I guess.

Heh, you really seem to have the same situation as I do, showered in random units you didn't even think about while the desire sensors keep that one goal away from you. Luckily, I did get target Lugh for my AR defense in recent summons, so for now, I'm not too whiny, but it does very much look that way when I complain. I'll try to focus on the brighter side of things, namely me getting a Shigure copy today, after quite some time (you'd think him being in the 3* pool would help me; it didn't yet). Only one copy left to get for my flier ball, but actually two if I want to swap out a unit, which I do in the long run. Still, this is progress.
And that bit about Raigh, that is definitely the reason I should really try to refrain from complaining about 5* acquisitions, except for Summer Leo earlier this year during anniversary. I will remain disappointed till the end of times with that outcome.
