It's looking like I called Mike Wallace to Baltimore. Stupid Ravens. I knew I wouldn't be able to savor their fall from relevance long enough :'(
-
At least with that he'd know ahead of time what he was getting himself into. It could never compare to the team you've been with your entire career basically shoving you out the door.
Alas, none of that matters since he's signing with the Ravens.

I'm now seeing reports that say the Patriots are one of the finalists for Weddle. I find it hard to believe that Weddle would pass up more money in Oakland AND the chance to play the Chargers twice per season. That being said, if they bring Weddle over it would be a huge coup and I'll await what happens with cautious optimism.
-
Apparently Martavis Bryant is trying to do his best Josh Gordon impersonation. At least now Steelers fans will know ahead of time that all of their top playmakers won't be on the field at the same time.
-
The Chargers basically kicked him out the door. I think he probably has permanent hard feelings toward them.
-
Ladarius Green has a lot of upside and will probably get the chance to start immediately. He'll have a chance to put up some big numbers too.
The Browns? Honestly, no words at this point. They have enough cap space to try to retain both Mack and Schwartz. I could see letting Mack walk but playing hardball with Schwartz looks like a pretty poor move right now.
Meanwhile the Jets are going to start fielding 4 RB formations next season

Happy new league year to you all. Enjoy the rampant spending!

Except this is equivalent to the nerd taking on the bully's expensive ass girlfriend. Who was only attractive with safety help over the top anyway.
Wait what

Jk, the trade is back on. And the Dolphins also moved down 5 spots in the draft. This is a terrible deal for Miami. They're hurting on cap space so they take on Maxwell's ridiculous contract? Sometimes I feel like I could be a better GM than half of the ones that have a job.
-
Yes, but they aren't getting Kiko and Maxwell anymore. Plus keeping Cam Wake over Olivier Vernon is a silly move
-
Losing your top receiver really puts a hurt on the offense. Especially when the other passing game options are: an old man that wears a hoodie, an inconsistent rookie, and Randall Cobb.
McCarthy really isn't a great coach to me honestly. Not getting Janis into the line up is a bit inexcusable, among other things.
EDIT: I mean, I'm pretty sure Devante Adams caught fewer than 50% of his targets. Why he was still playing significant snaps is beyond me.
-
I'm a little sad the Pats didn't make a play for Richie. Their interior Oline is still crap.
Also not sure why the Ravens grabbed old man Ben Watson
-
1) Fuck Miami and thank god that their offense is a lot weaker than people are willing to admit. Because I do not want to be facing Kiko and Maxwell twice a season and now I have to.
You're scared of facing a league-average-at-best corner who will cost over $10m per season? Bruh

Sad to see Jerod Mayo retire, but it was inevitable. Injuries really took a toll on his body the past few years. He had a nice career though. I'm glad he got a ring.
-
Deadspin has a pretty solid compilation of Bills fans. They do some absurd (and often inappropriate) things, especially in the past few years.
-
Nice. Patriots fans have been known to spawn from garbage cans, so I sympathize with that a lot. Also I like the idea of the Bengals as Kyle, with Andy Dalton as their QB and all.
-
I guess the fact that I wasn't a huge Pey-Pey fan before hearing about this factors into my reaction. That being said, the lengths the Manning clan went through to drag an innocent victim's credibility through the mud are astounding and pretty despicable.
Plus, fuck that guy for kissing Papa John. He's a shameless sell out, which might not affect his QBing abilities, but make him very difficult to like for me. I respect what he's done as a player, definitely. Certainly would have preferred he not go out on top. In my opinion, Belichick gave Manning this SB when he decided to do a rubgy drop kick after taking a 14-0 lead on the Eagles.
-
I donno. If it were up to me, I'd probably put the odds that it did happen somewhere around "more probable than not."
-
Evidently Peyton didn't do any "forcible penetrating" either. Does that make what happened any better? Obviously not. You're just going to have to live with the fact that people who dislike Ben will always use that as fodder. Why do you feel the need to keep bringing it up here? It's not like anyone here is calling him a rapist.
-
I have serious trouble believing that this story being made up is even plausible. If that happened nowadays there's no way in hell it would've been completely swept under the rug like it evidently has been. Professional athletes still get away with a ridiculous amount of bullshit, but social media has made it so anyone who actually reports a sexual assault WILL have their story heard.
-
This is certainly an interesting read. Fuck Peyton Manning.
EDIT: Also, DG, you're definitely welcome here. Supporting your team is not angering other people.
-
It was slightly obvious. I mean, you guys WERE talking about the Bengals...
As for Ben being tough, sure, that's fair and all. He also likes to talk about how injured he is on the regular, and it was a bit of a comical moment when he spent time talking about how banged up his shoulder was and then throws deep on the first play against the Broncos. I'm sure if his finger was hurt, he'd really enjoy talking about it.
-
Chris Henry injured his knee on that play too. That was their first play from scrimmage, I believe. What a way to start a playoff game.
EDIT: Oh wait, that was their second play. Still, tho
-
So apparently the Browns declared Manziel had a "concussion" week 17 because he showed up to a Wednesday practice while drunk? Unreal. I think it's safe to say at this point that the kid isn't going to play another snap in the NFL. Hope he makes his rookie contract money last.

Aaaaand the Patriots traded away Chandler Jones. Not gonna lie, I've been hoping for this move for a while now. I like the trade and I expect them to sign Chris Long and perhaps a corner.
