  1. Here's just a random idea I had..

You create an avatar who is a lieutenant in some kingdom's army. The game starts with you being assigned to a border outpost. The Lord of the game is sent with you. After a few easy battles against bandits, you suddenly find yourselves surrounded by an enemy army. The ensuing battle is utterly hopeless, with no chance of victory or escape. But, just as you are about to be killed, you suddenly find yourself in an unfamiliar place. After some investigation, you realize thanks to your knowledge of history that you are in the past. So you decide to amass an army and groom the young Lord to win the battle. You win... but then you're flung into a future where your victory has somehow caused the world to be destroyed. (enemy kingdom used a magical nuke or somesuch) So once again you must return to the past and set things right, with the obligatory "Fire Emblem" being the artifact you use to travel through time. The time-travel mechanic also allows marriage & child characters to happen without any ridiculous 'babyrealm' shenanigans.

  2. My apologies if this belongs elsewhere.. anyway, I have too much spare time on my hands, so I've decided to do a "choose my run" of Fates. (note: I am not very good at Fire Emblem, so I reserve the right to choose my own difficulty)

Please leave suggestions for the following:

    Path (I have all three)

    Avatar stats
    -Gender
    -Birthday
    -Boon/Bane
    -Talent
(feel free to suggest names, too, if it strikes your fancy)

    Pairings

    Reclass suggestions

  3. I think Jakob can easily become the best character in the game if you have a female Avatar. (But probably not if you have a male Avatar, as he joins underleveled and with underwhelming stats.) He starts with decent stats and has 39 levels to grow. And he uses daggers/shuriken and staves/rods, probably two of the most important things to have on your team.

  4. Here's the Lion Prince.

    Name: Harald
Role: Gallian Prince (Arc 2, probably Arc 4, and maybe minor appearances in the other arcs too)
    Gender: Male
    Age: 22
    Race: Laguz
    Class: Lion
Weapon: Fang (mt 11, hit 95, crit 0)
    Skills: Nihil
Appearance: Quite tall, at about 6'6". He is slim (but certainly not scrawny) and has a mane of shaggy red hair, as is expected in Gallia's royal family.
Backstory: Harald's father took every opportunity to teach him about the beorc's heroic deeds during the events of PoR and RD. But his father's younger brother, being far more cynical, took every opportunity to remind Harald that some laguz were still enslaved, and that the beorc hadn't done anything to help them lately. As a result, Harald has always had very mixed feelings about beorc.

Base stats + growths: (note- Lions are hilariously OP, so instead I used Wolf stats and added a few extra points)
    HP 49 (45%)
    Str 13 (55%)
    Mag 2 (5%)
    Skl 12 (50%)
    Spd 14 (65%)
    Lck 9 (45%)
    Def 10 (50%)
    Res 5 (35%)

    Most people forget that...

    • Corrin was born in Valla, and Mikoto isn't obligated to give them a Hoshidan name just because she has one (especially since her sister and niece don't).
    • Corrin's existence in Nohr wasn't common knowledge (Rinkah claims to have "heard rumors" about a sheltered Nohrian royal), so it wouldn't really matter if their name was Hoshidan or not.
    • Garon's plan involved Corrin returning to Hoshido as a suicide bomb, so changing their name so that they wouldn't be recognized would be counterproductive to that goal.
    • Finally, Kaze and Hinoka explicably recognize Corrin by their name, which they wouldn't if Corrin's name was ever changed.

So overall it wouldn't make sense in the narrative if Corrin's name was changed.

You actually have some good points there :o

But he isn't from Hoshido though, and he was born in Valla, so I assume he was named In valla. Corrin is his english name, so I think that's appropriate

Well yeah, but Mikoto is still his mom.

  7. So, here's a little theory I thought up a while back, regarding the Avatar's canon name.

The main character was named Kamui at birth- the other Hoshidan royals have Japanese names, after all- but then, after they were kidnapped, Garon or someone else insisted upon renaming them to something more Nohrian-sounding; thus they became Corrin.
