  1. I'm sure this horse has beaten to death already, but fixing the controller configuration so it actually allows you to change it would be beyond awesome. I find myself having a difficult time fully enjoying the demo to the fullest extent when i'm constantly having to think about which fingers are doing what, as opposed to concentrating on how awesome the game is. you must be left-handed
  2. I've been using the 23.2 rerecording version, and the battery file import option is under the cheat tab. No wonder I couldn't find it. Thanks for the help!
  3. It depends, are weapon bonuses the same as say, Ninian's boosts? Because everytime I've ever abused the arena in FE7 via Nini's Grace, the enemy stats don't seem to take this into account, which would explain why they also aren't affected by weapon bonuses. I think that arena enemies are based solely on the hard stats of your characters. Ok, so I have a question, do the majority of arena abusers use an emulator or a cart? Because savestates and increasing the game speed would make coming across these broken enemies considerably easier.

  6. Hey guys, I can't remember how to load/which option I use to activate the .SAV file. Uhmmmm, I know this is simple but I've forgotten. A little help please? BTW I'm using VBA as my emulator
  7. One of my biggest annoynances with FE7 was the disparity in names. The main/biggest example being Brendan Reed and his sons. Why are these the only characters to have a last name? What does that mean? Was Brendan descended from a lost Fiefdom of Lycia and Reed was the title? If not, was this just an oversight by IS or something they didn't value enough to fix? These are the only reasons I've been able to come up with and I'd be interested to see if anyone else has better insight.
  8. Because I'm playing on a cart and I'd really like to avoid corrupting it. I know the chances are slim, but I've had this thing forever and it just isn't worth the risk to me.
  9. So I'm trying to decide on the best classes to promote several of my characters. I'm playing on Hard Mode and plan to CC afterward. I also intend to abuse the swiftsole run, so low movement is a nonfactor for me. The most obvious thing to do is just pick the classes with the highest caps (ex: Sage over MK in Lute's case) but I wanted some opinions on whether certain classes just work better for certain characters. Gerik going Hero instead of Ranger is a good example of this. So here's the list of people I haven't decided upon yet: Gilliam; I usually go GK for the additional move, but I'm thinking of General this time around for the higher defensive caps Neimi; I prefer Ranger for the added use of swords, I've considered Sniper purely for the higher strength cap Colm; He's most often my rogue (Rennac is trash, IMO) but adding a potential OHKO unit would be nice Amelia; I rarely use her, and when I have, it's always been as a Paladin, but I would like to try either GK or General for the higher caps Ewan; This is usually my backup MK to L'Arachel, but I've never tried him as a Druid/Summoner or Sage I didn't take skills into consideration because of how unreliable they are the majority of the time.

  16. Ok well sign me up then. I do work long hours so I'll probably be last to finish. Using an emulator will help save me time though so maybe I won't lag too far behind. And I think it's prudent that you set minimum and maximum team sizes. Oh one thing I forgot! Are we penalized for letting characters die? Don't recall seeing this in the original rules.

But what if one of us sponges too much exp with Marcus early game (less turns but lower levels)and needs some exp? 28x is one of the better chapters for pure EXP and besides, it's my prerogative whether to risk it or not. And if I have several flyers on my team, why should I be denied the chapter because others can't complete it as quickly? This is what I was considering but forgot to voice. If you feel uncomfortable leaving it to the contestants, then just assign a turn penalty (something reasonable between 5-10) and add half total turn count for that chapter to it. This way, I can't take a 20 turn penalty and then abuse the chapter for 40+ turns. It would be like using the arena without risking a restart OR counting the turns spent using the arena. Also: It doesn't matter to me whether its single auction or in batches, but I would think groups of 5 would greatly expedite the process. I'm in favor of Marcus being free up to Ch. 20. Even in regular HM, Uhai can be a real pain in the ass thanks to those woods he's sitting on. While the 100 credits will indeed help moderate team size, I think you might consider a min and max. That way I can't get twice as many units as the other teams just because I only bid higher on the low value units. Otherwise we may end up with a team that has 10 units and one that has 4. I would assume that anyone playing this would be more competent than to overpay on the 6 top units. Lastly, I don't think you ever clarified whether Lyn mode is included or not. I'm judging not due to the fact that Lyn, Sain, Kent and Wil are free in Ch. 16, or else they'd be bulky enough to take some hits and survive, especially compared to HHM. This doesn't even begin to cover how much adding LM would complicate the drafting values.
  18. This looks fascinating! And a lot less tenuous and rage-inducing than a HHM run. I'm potentially game for this. Why is 28x blocked? If someone wins both nino and jaffar, then they'd have a legitimate way to enter the chapter. And it's also the only way to get the Fell Contract before endgame, if they also have a thief on their team. One more thing, does it how we go about playing? I'm planning on using an emulator as opposed to a cart. Mine is currently full with incomplete play-throughs that I'm not willing to erase.
