  1. See that mouth on the upper right hand corner in FEditor?

Drag that down so it lines up with the sprites face

Thanks! It fixed Eirika's glitched one too! :D

I thought that the dragging there was only for fun. :X

  2. The sideburn-hair-thingies on both sides are shaded and shaped kinda funny; perhaps you could make them rest on top of her torso as opposed to hanging in mid-air. Also try not to sorta-pillow-shade on the bottom part of the hair-thingie on our right. In addition, you forgot the anti-aliasing on the arm on our right where it meets the hair. Also, from that angle, either her shirt is lopsided or you attempted to draw the shirt from a different angle from her torso.

And the last bit is that the back part of her hair appears to lack aa-ing/shading. I think Fire Emblem mugs sometimes do this, but I'd give it a little more shape where it curves in.

That's a lot of criticism, it seems, but it's mostly nitpicking - that's pretty clean for a first mug.

edit: Oh, I just realized her shirt is from Neimi and the reason it looks odd is because of the angle of her face. Normally it'd be difficult to rotate your neck so that your face is visible in that way from that angle or maybe I'm just bullshitting but it looks kinda odd still.

Thanks for the critiques! The hair on our right was taken directly from a generic villager girl (lol) so I changed the shading up a bit. I'm not sure if it's right though. Is the anti-aliasing where her hair meets her arm correct? As for her shirt... I don't know what to do with that. :X

I changed the back of the hair a bit so hopefully it curves in better (the original hair got cut off by a shirt, so I had to shorten it).

How old do you think she looks by the way?

    Updated version: hoEZJQ7.png

It also matches up nicely in FEditor Adv! :D

Edit: I'm working on those hanging hairs now. Let's hope it's not a disaster.

Another Edit: I've made some progress! hoDanz6.png

  3. More than one A support is easy enough, if you don't mind messing up paired endings. The second thing is a bit harder and I'm not keen on doing it without good reason.

Is there maybe a way to remove the addition of a paired ending between characters? If so, one could just give each character a single paired ending and that issue would be resolved!

  4. You'd have to dump the animation frames first and edit them in a separate image editing program, then reinsert, but yes.

    Hmmm...

I dumped them and got five files, so I'm assuming I'd have to edit them all.

Is there a way to edit a specific character's animations without messing up an entire class? Thanks!

Edit: Please tell me if this is right, but when character X is class Y and attacks, it uses class Y's animations but uses character X's palette?

  5. FEditor isn't capable of editing battle palettes. Maybe it was intended to be a feature later, I don't know.

If you want to just change Eirika's palette, you'll want to make one using FERecolor and insert it (In Eirika's case you'll also need to assign her a battle palette because she just use's her class's default one).

Actually, could I also just go through each of her frames one by one so I could also make other edits (e.g. shortening hair) to it?

  6. So does that mean I'll have to play through the entire game each time I'm testing something?

Edit: I went into FEditor and changed Eirika's name and now the game glitches on the prologue chapter once combat begins (the cutscenes before are fine). Is this a common problem?

Edit: Okay it's somehow working again? Not sure why honestly. New question! So I recoloured Eirika's hair and armour a bit, and it saved nicely and went into the game, but her battle sprites won't save when I recolour them using FEditor. Where do I save the colours so I can add in more? Thanks! Picture if needed.

  7. Weird thing just happened... I was making a big picture with all the steps (and screenies) of it and it somehow worked! Thanks! :)

Oh, but Eirika's level was set to five in my thing but she was level one when deployed. Do I have to go to chapter units or something to change that for future reference?

  8. You should be

    1) Loading the module(s) you want to use

    2) Opening the ROM

    3) Changing whatever needs changing

    4) Hitting 'Apply' (hotkey is Enter)

    5) Saving (hotkey is Ctrl+S)

    6) Checking the results in the ROM

The way you describe your process, it seems like steps are out of order.

Thanks, but it's still not working. Hmm... Does "Link Rom To Modules" do anything? I tried adding that in also to the steps above and it didn't work.

  9. I extracted it using 7zip. Oddly enough, the values are normal now after I checked again to be sure that it was a .gba file. It was one! Now, when I edit the values and go to play it on VBA, the values do not change in game.

So I change the values, load the modules to the rom, then save. Then, I close Nightmare and open up VBA and Sacred Stones, but the stats are the same.

Thanks for the reply and answer, by the way! :)

  10. So I downloaded a clean Scared Stones rom (1997 - Fire Emblem - The Sacred Stones (U)(TrashMan)) and used VBA. I opened the rom up with Nightmare and went to change Eirika's stats only to see this: e6a7129bed26d325ca0c5dbf957b7f0a.png

So I clearly did SOMETHING wrong, but what? Does anyone know? Thank you!
