It gets worse in Silver Snow. You get Seteth instead of your house lord and you are missing a character in the bottom left corner. It was amazingly stressful for my Maddening Run. I prepared deliberately 12 chapters for it but still ended up praying to RNG to save me as I plonked Byleth into a bush. Pick a god and pray indeed.

The most difficult paralogue before the time skip is the first paralogue you do. Because as the game progresses on, your characters get must stronger at a faster rate than the enemy, even with the reduced EXP. I still think the Ashe/Catherine one is the hardest if you do not stick Rhea into a corner (I just want boots...). The Felix one is also frustrating if you do not have the right tools to negate the enemies attacks. I haven't done the post time skip ones yet so I can't comment on those.

Maddening is the wrong difficulty to learn about paralogue I think. Apparently you need both characters to get all the rewards. I was wondering where my Indech Sword Fighters were, but I realized you need both characters to receive both battalions.

I just realized Ignatz's and Raphael's paralogue has a stationary boss on a healing tile. Slap on a Knowledge Gem , park a dancer next to your character of choice, and wail away. Bonus points if you manage to preserve your battalion after the boss's weapon breaks. That means rotate your characters in and out. Also get the battalions that give you Impregnable Wall and cherish it. Make love to it. Take care of it, and it will take care of you. For example, Lorenz's paralogue throws a ton of enemy characters in your direction. Attack with you range and then use wall on them, as it makes them do 1 damage while recieving 1 damage. On a side note, I forgot to recruit Ingrid and then do her paralogue. RIP Luin, I hardly ever knew you. I also threw away the movement +1 ring by mistake. I am greatly enjoying maddening mode, but that may be because I havent done the Ashe/Catherine paralogue and the Felix paralogue (Rodrigue...how many times do we have to teach you this lesson old man). Thank god for Mila's timewheel, Divine Pulse.

No kidding... My Lysithea and Hilda got screwed hard in their respective strengths so badly I am considering redoing even though I am on chapter 7. I am banking hard on Felix or Ingrid as replacements but I can't replace Lysithea because of her item.

One of the best methods of getting an extra oomph was marrying a female Corrin to Jakob. As Jakob is capable of giving his spouse a substantial increase in stats when paired up (Str + 2, Skl +2, Spd +1 when S-Ranked), a Great Knight Husbando Jakob, with tonics on Corrin is a very nice method of cheesing tackling the harder chapters. On the other hand, if for some canon reason a male Corrin married Azura, the player is eliminating both a songstress and consequently limiting the army, and getting subpar stats and passives from the blue haired Marth with a white skirt. Although the stat loss can be reduced by changing the class of Azura, the fact that there is nobody singing and spinning in the battlefield does not change. RIP One turn Endgame. How much do you think the difficulty gap is for these extreme cases? PS. I swear my picture has nothing to do with the MCorrin X Aqua pair. Really.
