  1. Well, storyline wise it seems that Silas wasn't even really trying to defeat you, so perhaps they can excuse the ease of the victory as actually being related to the story?
  2. I actually really liked that, when she told them they were embarrassing themselves and also embarrassing her. It shows that while she may seem to be the "quiet and kind and gentle" archetype, she's willing to take charge of her subordinates and assert her authority, not just shrink back and let them do as they will.
  3. Did you mean to post this after Azz01? It seems like it's supposed to be referencing a different post. I think I may have said this in a different thread, but somewhere I think it was implied or stated that not all pairings will result in children (or was it saying that not all pairings are possible? Or both?) If it's the former, that gives me a tiny, tiny ray of hope that some of those pairings that don't allow for children will include same sex pairings. Probably won't happen, but until it's absolutely dashed, I'll have a tiny ray of hope.
  4. That is definitely odd, though the idea of expies of the popular child characters showing up as 1st gen characters on the Nohr route while expies of the popular 1st gen characters show up as child characters on the Hoshido route is kind of a twisted brilliance that I have to somewhat admire, even as I sigh.
  5. We probably won't see same sex romances in a Fire Emblem game for quite a few more years, sadly. But one can still hope.
  6. Yah, stats are partially an indication of raw talent, but just say that the adopted kids happened to have similar raw talent to their parents. Yah, it's a bit of coincidence, but it's not a big deal. EDIT: Or, you know, if they do my "create mutant life through dragon god power" idea they don't need to make it adopted kids. (Note, I don't seriously think they'll do this.)
  7. Or 4... Kamui, descendant of the first dragons, with the powerful blood of a god within them, has surpassed mortal limits and gained the power to CREATE LIFE. And with this power, Kamui can bless marriages, and in doing so bring forth the ultimate symbol of the marriage's love, mutant adult children spawned from the deific dragon magic of ancient lore! COME FORTH, MY MUTANT ADULT CHILD SOLDIERS, AND SERVE YOUR GOD! Gee, way to be a petty spiteful person who gleefully mocks LBGT who simply hoped for maybe a teeny tiny bit of representation, and to not have their very existence constantly ignored or else treated as though they're horrible abominations. How DARE they, right?
  8. Well, looks would be one thing, but they could do skills/stats and just justify it as the person being trained by the parents in their way of fighting, or something. Also, quick question, is it normal for a Japanese magazine to have "Upper Screen" written in English below screenshots? I assume it is cause no one is pointing it out as weird, but it seems kind of strange to me, and it just hit me now.
  9. Same. Heck, even without same sex s supports, the children function just doesn't seem to fit with what we know about the game so far, so I'd get rid of it.
  10. Interesting. Not surprised to see S supports and marriage come back, but children is a bit of a shock. I guess I shouldn't have been surprised since Spotpass features already confirmed some sort of outrealm gate like feature, but that is pretty much an optional side feature. While getting married is also optional, having the children join you in battle seems a bit more integrated to the main campaign, and it feels odd based on what I know about Fates so far. In Awakening, the entire storyline revolved around time travel, weird portals, and alternate future versions of characters, so having child characters just fit in. In Fates, it will stick out weirdly. At least based on what I know about the story so far. Who knows, maybe they can pull it off. Pretty much my thoughts. I mean, they could still allow children for same sex relationships, just say they're adopted, or from some parallel universe with alternate versions of parents, but I doubt they'll do that. My tiniest hope is that since they said some pairings don't result in kids, that means that some of those non-kid pairings are same sex pairings. Yah, this would kind of make things odd depending on just how important the kid characters are, but it would be better than nothing.
  11. Well, there was Path of Radiance, but it was blatantly obvious that the reason PoR didn't have paired endings was because they already were planning the sequel. (This is also the reason that the individual character endings in PoR aren't a definitive narrator describing what happens to the character, but instead the character just telling Ike what they plan to do in the immediate future.) They strongly implied unlimited supports in Famitisu.
  12. I suppose they could do it that way, but it seems perhaps a bit over complicated, and would also mean that characters other than Kamui would be unable to have paired endings.
  13. Here's the thing, without S supports or a limit on the number of A supports you can get, romances of any sort are probably out the door. Silas and Corrin could A support, but then what happens when Corrin A supports everyone else? They all get added to Corrin's harem? I do agree that I'd like to see both platonic relationships between opposite sex characters and romantic relationships between same sex characters though. Same, but I think S supports are still the best way to handle this.
  14. But classic FEs did have romantic supports, it was just done by limiting the amount of A-Ranks you could get and having a paired epilogue, rather than in in-game marriage. However, the translation of the latest Famitsu strongly implies that A supports at the very least are unlimited, so if there was no S support, that would wipe out not only romance supports, but also ensure that there are no non-romantic paired endings. Which would be a shame, as personally I'd like to see both romantic and non-romantic paired endings.
  15. I haven't heard a single thing about confirmed romances other than in an unsourced tvtropes page (there's other uncomfirmed and seemingly faulty info on tvtropes too)
  16. That would be awesome, though I'm not sure how likely it is. I'd love something like this though.
  17. Yep, skinship still kind of creepy. Also, any character regardless of age? Uh, just how young are some of the characters in this game gonna be? Cause if they're too young... and for that matter, just how young are the younger sister characters?
  18. Asama can't use weapons till he promotes, right? Moderately useful early on then, but once he gains the ability to use weapons it won't be as helpful.
  19. Well, now that you mention it it's an interesting idea. Except you get Lilith in both routes, so it would be weird if she was always the Nohr dragon god. Maybe her identity changes depending on the route you play? Ah, I misunderstood.
  20. This would explain sooo much. Though I'd be somewhat concerned at what Garon chose to dress his oldest daughter in then.
  21. I think a lot of people just use marriage as a shorthand for romantic supports, since that's how romantic supports were handled in Awakening, which had the biggest number of them. I myself would like romantic supports to exist, but I don't care if they actually get married during the game or if it's just mentioned in their epilogues like in past FE games.
  22. I think Anankos is real because when Garon was by himself (or thought he was), he made a comment along the lines of "As Anankos decreed" which be a little odd if Anankos wasn't real. Though maybe Garon just has a flair for the dramatic. Or maybe he KNEW Xander was listening and said that because he wanted Xander to hear for some reason.
  23. Well, during the big spoiler part they tried to skip past... I think that Garon misunderstood the message. He was told to send Kamui to deal with the rebellion alone, and assumed that meant he had been counciled to kill Kamui (just not directly). What he didn't realize is the dragon had something else in mind.
  24. Huh, interesting. It just seems odd then that we didn't get a "Oh and by the way Garon, not only is Kamui back, but your long lost daughter kidnapped by the Hoshido is here too!" scene.
